If I seriously got taken for 10-200k while intending to spend 300-400k cash. I’d call a shark of an attorney and tell them to give the corporation one chance to come to the table and figure out a solution. And I’d probably say give them one more chance just in case. And then I’d say go after them.

After all, I’ve got a few hundred at the ready.

I’d be horrified if any friend started a thread like this when I’m in a lawsuit. There’s literally no good that come from it. Do people really think LUXE will just call all customers and say “sorry about that, we’ll finish the boats.” As a corporation their best move is to shut down and go away. Assuming everything in this thread is true.

There’s no law against being a shitty business owner, but you can at least get yourself into position (suing the business) to own the assets.

I’m not saying this at all, but let’s say this is absolutely a criminal scam, then let your attorney eat and get you something.

I haven't read the entire thread but given that this is still a small town forum and this thread has 6 pages and counting if I were advising Curtis I'd tell him he needs to get back on here and get some info out to you guys and not go quiet. He was active at launch so he needs to follow through regardless of his young age. My 2 cents. This community has experienced several builders go down leaving negative reputations that take years if ever to restore. I wasn't here for the Magic debalcle but learned about it years later on here. reputations take YEARS to restore.

I'm not sure I understand why the whistleblowers are getting lit up here? If a boat company that I was considering a build from or worse I had a deposit with was in the process of fucking over others I would want to know.

Is that not what's going on?

Are boats being built?

If the answer is people are getting fucked than there shouldn't be any hate directed to the people pointing it out.

It's not exactly easy to get assets from a boat builder. They will sell the tooling and equipment for nothing. These are toons it's not like they have extensive hull molds They don't own anything else and your not gonna pierce the llc to get the owners house. Customers will get nothing.

Luxe had a cool product. Apparently the guy running it is a nice guy. Doesn't matter. A fucked customer is a fucked customer and the only person responsible for that is the guy who took his money and didn't give him a boat in return.

I never said I was a customer. I have not given Luxe a dollar, but know personally and have talked to several people that have.

Members were too busy calling Luxe customers names for trying to buy a boat. These were typical members you’d expect I suppose.

I’ve said all needs to be said. I led with I like Curt on the first page. I’m sure he didn’t mean for things to go this direction, but they did. Any talk of this situation has been absent from this site, and it’s been going on a year. The people I know just wanted their boats and some bent over backwards to try to help the business back on its feet.

This didn’t happen in a vacuum and these customers aren’t idiots that stroked checks and walked away from the process. Things were good for awhile and then games were played that got exposed, and the house of cards fell.

I had heard they had problems a few months ago but I also know Curt had several meetings setup with potential investors…. I made a couple introductions myself for him.

I had high hopes he was going to find a partner and continue building. I learned they closed their doors when this thread was posted.

That document could be used to get your motors back from whatever boat they were installed on after a few legal moves.

I suspect that early-stage boat builders don't have access to steady capital like a line of credit or some way to finance the operations thru build, so they're financing thru their customers, e.g. taking in cash for future builds and using that to finance current builds... Consumer debt levels are rising, interest rates are falling, personal savings rates are falling, and we're going into a volatile election cycle... Batten down the hatches folks, this is another canary in the coal mine...

While I don’t disagree with the state of personal finances or the economy..

I would say that using custom boat companies as
A gauge isn’t wise.. some manufacturers were already established and couldn’t make it in the best of times. It’s a very difficult business to be in.

The difference there is the boat builder didn't go skulking off. I also think the investors were the only ones out money when that venture failed. The builder still has the unfinished hulls, or at least he did several years ago.

We're talking Trident here? Leftover hulls have been destroyed, and Wes told me all investors were paid back. It took him a while, but everyone was made whole.

I don’t know if that’s true. I wasn’t paid back but I also never expected to be. I rolled the dice and unfortunately the economy collapsed and the business had to shut down. The silver and red boat I was building was never bonded together, I think he told me it had been sitting outside too long to be viable.
