Ok so here’s where we are at. The Seneca owner countered my 65k at 68k I know I could get it for 65k but if I’m being honest with myself that’s still more than I should pay for something I might not use as often as k want. That’s around an 800 dollar payment.

Soooo it’s down between these two. They are very very similar. I’d feel good at 25k for either but want to get your opinions. @Bigbore500r

The main things I like in these models are the bunks for my wife. She would prefer the over cab bed but that’s on newer models and not worth 20k more imo and the tanks. These models seem to have the largest tanks for dry camping. 75 gals isn’t a lot but it’s more than most models

Mileage is low so might want, take that back, need an rv inspection. Not because of owner, but maybe owner unintended neglect. Not being used much might be ok but some important stuff could have been “forgotten”. Tire date codes important, roof integrity, awning integrity, electrical issues, on and on. They both look good but for peace of mind, spend the money for a good RV inspection. You will be glad you did. When I bought my 2011, I already knew what I wanted to inspect but still found a couple of little things later. Easily fixed by me. Tires and brakes are key. With this few of miles, the brakes should be fine, but I wouldn’t want to trust dated out tires regardless of miles. That’s your family at risk. A front tire blowout in these bricks on wheels is no joke. Good luck, they both look pretty good, but I lean towards the front one also.

That 35’ Sunnova looks to be a higher end model. With better equipment. Probably can’t go wrong with either as long as everything works and no signs of water leaks in roof and walls.

Offer 10-20% less than asking on what ever you buy. Don’t be afraid to walk away for a few days before making another offer. These RV’s aren’t getting snapped up these days.

Calbob mentioned tires. The date codes should be less than five years no matter how good they look. Tires are expensive. Another good area for negotiating a lower price.

Ok I decided I want to finance the RV and I’ll pay it off as quick as I can. Going to do a 10 year so I don’t handcuff myself with a payment but should have it paid off in under 2 years. I’m thinking of using light stream. Has anyone used them for anything? Any good or bad? Is there anyone else to look at? I’ve read light stream is pretty quick and easy and they don’t have a year limit on RV’s.

Didnt work out as planned this morning, but I suppose things happen and being an ass wouldn’t have changed anything. I was a little annoyed since I was already up early and ready so I cleaned out the garage which I had really needed to do anyways, so the day wasn’t lost. I dunno… I still like it and I’m hoping Wednesday I can make a deal. I won’t feel as bad offering a little less now.

Used them on a portion of my ToyHauler, since I did not want to pay cash for 100%.
It was a personal loan, so not attached to the ToyHauler. Process was easy and had the cash in my account in days

I’ll write off the interest on your taxes since it’s a second home.

Tried looking at dates I’m the tires and the best I can see sure looks like 15 so you will need tires before any trip. If you done get a new mattress they have gel mattress toppers that are nice and what we have. Never seen a leveling switch by battery switches but maybe convenience while you are outside.

I bought an Amazon foam mattress for our trailer and it was awesome….for the 3 times I slept on it

We bought a mem foam mattress from a company called Lucid on Amazon.. it was great but wouldn't fit the new trailer. So we left it on the old trailer.

Yea that one of the things mentioned in the brochure. Leveling switches in 3 locations. I’ve read that thing like 50 times now 😂😂

Any reason to do personal instead of an rv loan?

Personal loan probably won’t get the “second home” tax write off. RV loan will.
Right as I was going to get on rdp I thought that exact thing. I’m going to apply today. I think I can get a pre approval but I think I need the vin for the actual funding

If you can secure the RV for a few extra days, our RV loan rates/terms will be much better than lightstream. The funding process takes 3-5 business days.

What’s a 20 year new purchase rate? Minimum loan amount for that term?

20 year requires a min of 50k loan amount. When all the stars align we see some that start with a 6 for higher loan amounts. For most situations, 7.xx would be the best rate.

My buddies started sending me this one this morning. I want to check it out.
Nice thing about that one is the 8.1 is cheap and easy to fix and with the kodiak front end, pretty easily accessible.

How are refi’s looking?

I get sick every time I look at my statement. Ready to sell because of it. I have saying that I’m not following and should be. “ just because you can don’t mean you should”

When you pay cash you don’t have to worry about getting sick.

This has bunks. Not sure if it fits the bill.

The only problem I can see with this one is the same problem I have with mine. The outside storage is lacking. Some of those compartments you see are for things like sewer, generator, fresh water, access to propane tank and the hydraulics for the slides.

Are you here just to stir the pot? You’ve been around a week and continue to insert where not needed?
I was going to say I’d be pretty sick if I gave someone a bunch of cash and got nothing in return but I figured I better not derail my own thread 😂😂

In my imagination I see myself pulling a trailer most the time so I’m hoping that would help with storage. Figure either for golf cart or bikes etc but who knows

The guy said he was sick of looking at statements, I offered a simple cure that we all know is true.

Who defines what is needed and what isn’t? Everyone is allowed an opinion on every other topic, are they not?

So like the title says it’s time to bite the bullet. We sold the trailer and it’s time to get SOMETHING. As much as I don’t want a payment my boys are only getting older and it’s time to bite the bullet. As mush as I’d like to go all out it’s simply not in the cards right now. With that said I’m really trying to keep the budget at 30 and maybe up to 40k if it’s something Michelle really likes. So I guess first things first is there anybody here that has something that would work for us that you no longer use or have thought about maybe getting rid of?

I know a lot of you don’t fb but market place has a lot of RV’s so I’m going to post a few links and hopefully get some good and bad on these. There’s 5 in my family so I need to sleep 5. If I could get something with bunks that’s ideal. I think… I also want to be able to tow a trailer. I don’t own a sxs but you never know and I don’t want to just keep upgrading. I realize my budget is low. I’m trying to be responsible.

This one has bunks and I like it. So what’s the bad?

This one no bunks but my wife likes it and the price is right

This one is gas but newer and very nice what’s anyone got for this guy

I’m not in a huge hurry but like I said the boys are getting older and out group of friends is in the camping era. I’m not trying to keep up with the jones but I’m trying to enjoy good company and make memories. My buddy just bought Tony hawks old rv and as nice as it is and as much as I love it I’m just not at the stage of my life yet.

You might wanna wait. Union says if Trump wins the union is doomed. Pretty sure they said that in 2018 and I had my best years ever $$$ wise. 🤷🏻‍♂️💸🤔

No just no. I said the same thing and regret it! I have receivers front and back for racks because of the lack of outside storage! When we go to the desert I pack extra stuff on the trailer but it’s just more crap to move before I can get the kids motorcycle and quads off. I would highly suggest checking all the outside bins on that rig and see what you’re dealing with. Another thing is the back of that rig sits very low to the ground compared to other Super C of that era you will drag ass in a lot of places and even worse with a trailer. I know from experience!

Vic, I honestly think you're going to regret this motorhome deal. I don't see you as the guy sitting calmly in the drivers seat chugging along at 55 going up grades. Sure the kids are going to enjoy it but look at how fast they've grown up. IMHO, I'd just stay at hotels and have someone else make the bed for you.
If you do get one, be sure to have a car to haul behind it so you're not driving this thing all over town.

This has a lot of truth to it.

just got back from 3 days in the sierras and going camping is a shit load of work with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Now the wife has 6 loads of laundry to do.

But we did have fun. 😂🤦‍♂️
