Get something small enough you can park it in the parking lot, when you’r coaching ball games.

You’ll use it a lot more. 😉
I can't speak from experience. But, my buddy does use his a lot for this purpose with his boys.

So with the RV and the auto leveling jacks do you guys pull up to your spot and push the button on do you get out and put pads under the jacks?

When you’re parked at home and storing do you keep it plugged in? Plug it in every now and then? Run the generator every now and then? Do you have the leveling jacks down while stored or just park it normal like a truck?

I live in Norco and it’s dusty… is it ok to put a cover on? I think the super c I’m looking at has a canvas type cover, is that ok? I really don’t want to get an RV port but I also want to take care of this thing. It says it’s fiber glass and gel coat? Can I wash it and spray wax it?
I pull in and put levelers down first thing and my checks the bubble level on the counter to confirm. If it is too far out I will put blocks to help level. I always put legs down at opposite end of what it shows the adjust the bad side. It seems to move less with all 4 touching.
I turn all house batteries and solar off for extended times.

I never put pads under the jacks unless it’s in the sand. I cover mine like Hondo said. It’s a pain in the ass. Cover is heavy as hell to carry onto the roof while climbing ladder with one hand. As far as generator we usually run ours once a month. Mine sits unplugged because no power where I store it. I do add water to batteries every few months.

On the super c I’m looking at, the guy did say one of the upgrades was 6v batteries wired in series. Not sure what that means or if it’s good or bad. They also added an extra spring to the rear axle, anti sway on the rear axle, and steering stabilizer for front. Again not sure what that means

6 Volts are better for RVs because you can drain them down and it doesn't hurt them like typ 12 volts. They are wired in series so they produce 12 volts for the 12volt system. Not sure what "extra spring to rear axle" is. Maybe another leaf?
Added sway bar is always a plus on RVs.

Depending on the terrain I use blocks, I don't like having jacks extended pass 3/4 to level out.

If you keep it plugged in, then check the batteries monthly so they don't dry out. Fully electric coach's batteries will die in days if not plugged in and I store with the jacks down to keep from getting flat spots on the tires from sitting.

Cover will mess it up with the dust and wind, better to get a awning cover and store under.

Being in Norco, watch for field mice as they love to get in and make it their home. Have gotten mice in the Sierras and Williams. Nothing like hearing the trap pop off at night.

Like others have said covers are kind of a pain, but they definentely keep it alot cleaner. I only put it on over the summer when im not using my trailer, too much work to put on and take it off every trip during the winter.

I had to replace the carb on our generator and when I got the new one it came with a fuel shut off valve so now before putting away in storage I shut that off while running and run the carb out of gas, so far no problems.

I’ve got room. How much do they run?
They vary so much because there are so many options. 5k to the sky is the limit LOL mine at the time was 4 grand but prices have gone up.
Once you get your coach then you can get on any of the websites and build it out the way you want at the price that works for you.

Check with camping world or places like that for a lift that bolts onto the top of the ladder and cranes the cover up onto the roof. My dad had one for his.

That will help you , I had an 06 for a season and I didn’t have the added spring/anti sway or stabilizer. That thing did not like the trailer hooked up to it and it was one thing I needed to get done if we kept it . These like to sway when getting passed by semi so those upgrades should help with that and also help take the weight of a trailer. They have a big over hang passed the rear axle .

I would suggest test driving down a highway for a few miles to get a feel for it .

I’ve said it before, I know I’m hard to work with and I know im very picky and very moody but this rubs me the wrong way and I don’t know why. Would this bother anyone else or am I just being too much me. I almost would have preferred he just lied and said he was going out of town.

Honestly I want the Seneca really bad. It’s priced a bit high to begin with but I’m way more concerned with the pre def diesel. According to my buddy tier 5 is already being put out there and I won’t be able to register it here soon in Cali and he says AZ is right behind Cali. I just don’t see how they can do that to soo many pre def vehicles. I believe he said it’s anything over 5k lbs. I can’t spend 60k and not be able to use it or sell it. Then Talking about use I’m not sure how often I can use it so the 20-30k dollar rigs start looking better and better.

AZ ain’t banning shit. We have never complied with carb.

My 1985 semi with a big cab 3 Cummins is still legal with no emissions on it whatsoever.

ways around the CA BS. Register in AZ. They have nothing on the books yet and you own property in AZ already.
Get the RV you want, you will use it more IMO.

i will find out this weekend if my buddy is selling his Seneca (his wife wants to upgrade) And let you know.

Vic, the pre emission diesels only have to register with Carb Compliance, pay a yearly fee of $30 and will have a once a year visual smoke test starting next year. Later model diesel pushers with OBD2 ports and emissions will have to test like cars do currently. meaning be plugged in and read for codes etc.

I just went through the process of getting my pre emission Diesel pusher registered with Carb and it was easyish.

Any motorhome that is stored outside will have clear coat issues. They just have shitty clear coats no matter the make.

That sure looks like a a clear bra like material. On the passenger side you can see the outline ot the coating. It was probably put on brand new and is just past its usable life span.

Motorhomes are not commercial vehicles. I have not see anything about CARB requiring private vehicles have equipment updated or changed for compliance.

Top Cap looks like clear is going, ours is doing the same thing since the previous owner stored it outside, I agree with Flying Lavey that it looks like clear bra coming off.

Peeling clearcoats on end caps can be repaired pretty cheaply and made to look new again. Approx. $600.00 per end as shown there.

I think in would have preferred a lie. The thing I liked about this one is 17000 miles hardly used, just serviced with 0 miles on this service. Now his brother has it out with his family probably not giving a shit about it because it’s for sale so who cares. I dunno just bothers me.

Thank you that was my next question. Sounds like not something to worry about and a fairly inexpensive fix.

Or the brother crashes it and the search continues lol.

I think that’s exactly it. In my head the fookin guy just loaned out my RV 😂😂
Funny our last RV we bought off my buddy and his BIL had one more trip planned up to Mammoth so of course we said no problem. He ended up making a left and swinging the right rear into something and F'n up the rear door and corner piece. My buddy got the new parts and all was good thought the new ones were a bit darker in color.

People let family borrow RVs all the time. I think I used my parents RV more than them. Used the boat allot too.

I would not think twice about the that being a hold up.

In this market, and for your first RV, buy the best deal/ cheapest rig you can find and live with- you might decide after a few trips that you want something completely different, or that the RV life is not for you and your family, and you want to be in something you can sell easily without taking too big of a loss on.

The market is kind of at a holding/ tipping point. Prices have softened- but there’s still a ton of covid buyers who can’t come down on their price because they overpaid and are upside down, and retail prices haven’t dropped back to pre covid levels. Prices could remain flat, or they could drop off a cliff over the winter.

Frankly, I would hold until spring and see where prices go unless I found a killer deal on something. Rates are crazy right now, and until they drop the market will continue to be stagnant, IMO.

I still recommend renting for a trip or two before purchasing something.

Wife was loading and cleaning RV then tells me something is wrong. I ask her what. She says the carpet is wet near bedroom. So I go out and look. Plastic hose fitting to water heater is leaking. Mop up any water I can. Remove the fitting and head to local RV supply and buy another to install.

Then the chassis battery was dead so I charged it.

Electric step wouldn’t retract. Had to adjust magnets sensor.

Got all parked at the beach and the AC started dripping water on the floor. Removed the inside cover and tightened the four bolts mounting it. Problem solved!

It’s always something with these things.

I’m good now, enjoying a fresh ocean breeze.

Imagine having a second home-and every time you use it there is a 3.0 earthquake for 2-6 hours straight.
Shit is always falling apart. There is no way around it, we just learn to expect and prepare for it. I personally would be bored without something to fix, so a RV fits my program perfectly. Embrace the imperfections, don't worry about the guy with the nice rig next to you (it also currently has an issue) and enjoy the family time. Buy what is right right now, trade up. I did 3 in one year, landed at a happy spot and stopped looking at the greener grass (because that guy has a leaking black tank.)

This!
House on wheels, shit will break.
Leverage your skills and fix it. New rig has the FireFly system (only thing I am worried about). Everything else on the house side I have experienced before. Chassis is another story. The ToyHauler was easier. Now I spend time and money with Freightliner.

Warranties are nice, but knowing how to fix what breaks is even better!

The Seneca owner reached out to follow up yesterday. I basically told him I didn’t want to waste his time and gave him my best offer. He didn’t say no so we’ll see. Plan is to go check out the class a gasser next weekend and if we like it maybe ill make an offer. 25-30k depending on tires and a few other things

It’s how my brain works. I had to take an anger management class at work 🫤 she basically said all day long I’m playing 3d chess in my head and when someone gets in my way or changes what I’ve already decided in my head it flips me out. I’m working on it 😂
