Temple Bar is so much better than the lower basin. I forgot how much I missed going there.

people aren't very friendy at mead, and get into there "I OWN THE LAKE LITTLE CLICKS...we were out this morning, other than getting cused out, and told to get the fuc out of here....we had a great time... went up to Hallett beach and back in the toon...How come nobody has gotten an RDP lake Mead get together ever? Or maybe I just missed it , i'm out at the lake every weekend unless it's really windy or i'm out of town.

I know I forgot to call you too! Such a douchebag this weekend.lmfao
I guess that explains it....we pulled up behind you and waved Hi,and the lady came out the backand told us to fuck off and get the fuc out of here,,, I think she was pissed at us for taking a pic of your set up....oh well,... been years since I've seen you ....I told my wife.... hey that's the guy we met at Hallett beach ....LOL, she said.... I don't think they are very friendly....I thought she was waving hi, and when we got close enough to hear....she was cusing us out...I don't hear so well, and asked my wife, ,"what did she say?"... she said fuc you, get the fuc outta here.......so we did......turned around and headed to middle point...Kind of weird at the beach we stayed at by Temple, we got there early Wednesday morning and there where 10-15 EZ ups set up with no tops and a anchor lines set up taking up most of the beach to reserve it. Everyone I met was super nice, just sucked because we had 7 houseboats and stayed 6 days and had to take a shitty part of the beach and they where all only there part of the day and just left there stuff there.

Probley a good thing....one ride in sues 50 mph toon and you would have had way too much to think about...I know I forgot to call you too! Such a douchebag this weekend.
The lower basin isn’t all that bad. A shit show? Hardly, compared to anywhere from AVI to Havasu. It does get rough for sure, but after being here 11 years, 20 minutes away from Boulder Harbor, it’s nice to have an amazing day on the water, every weekend, and not have to make a weekend trip out of it. We’ve been up to the upper basin a few times, and it is nice, and a lot bigger. Starting out in a 20’ cruiser, the upper basin was always “big water” most weekends, so we learned to love the lower. But we are the people that use the water to get away from “life”, leave work at work, and home at home. So when we hit the water, we’ve got a nice 10 minute boat ride, to find one of our amazing preferred beaches to sit at all day long and just relax. Then at the end of the day, weather permitting, a nice cruise into Las Vegas Bay, or over to the dam before heading back to the ramp. And now that we are cruising in a 30’ cat, the ride is much nicer most weekends regardless.
These pics were all over the 4th of July week. Sun,Tue,Fri and Sat.

Two years ago we started going straight to the upper and just floating for most of the day then coming back to rotary or wishing well to see some familiar faces. This last trip I wanted to find a good spot pronto just to see how the dogs did for their first time out. This weekend i'm going straight to Swallow Bay to find a spot. This will leave us not too far from the ramp should we have to head in for whatever reason, we are staying the night Sat night.
I do prefer the upper to get away and enjoy the quiet but we do still like the lower for some shenanigans.
We hang at swallow and rotary on the other side of swallow some nice beeches and close to Boulder harbor if the wind picks up. If it's a nice we to cruise to the other side of the lake and hang out at that beech to the left right before the turn to Hallet beech.
You guys act like it's as small as Parker, lol. I've never felt crowded at Mead, or Powell for that matter. They're just so big, I think people spread out pretty well. When we were there for the 4th we were pulling out at Boulder late on Friday night and it was quite a show. You've got that entire ramp to pull your plug wipe down and put your crap away and 2 or 3 people stopped 20-30 yards from the ramp. My wife (somewhat of a novice) couldn't find a way to pull the dually down with a 30' trailer to pick us up because there was no room to straighten out. Now she is 5 foot nothin so she can barely see over the hood of the dmax so I don't blame her for not seeing how it was possibly navigable. I got a little impatient but didn't lose my cool with her, I docked the boat quick and ran up and did it. Only after yelling "clear the ramp" multiple times but trying to be as respectful as possible. Anyway, it was getting dark quick but we got it done. The real sad deal was the Hallett that got pierced with a pontoon of another boat. I think they were both trying to trailer. I didn't see it cause I was focused on our own stuff but anyway, sad deal. Cops came and I hope the toon'er takes responsibility, still sucks though. The "show" is EVERYWHERE and unavoidable sometimes but I certainly don't feel like Mead is over crowded. Anyway....
Side bar: I learned from my Dad what not to do and what to do at the ramp with your wife driving the truck, ultimate patience, continual praise and reassurance. My theory is, "I've got all day" I don't want her to feel rushed by me. Nobody else on the ramp has ever disrespected her either. A couple guys have gotten out of their trucks and talked her through it or gave her a tip on occasion. THIS is boating. Relax, enjoy, respect eachother and help one another out. First time she launched me and retrieved, Dad sat shotgun and slowly coached her through it. I wish he was still here to see her do it and hear her praise of his lessons.

Towing to Boulder now. On water in the 240 Friday and Saturday. Launch at Hemenway, probably boat up into Temple Bar area. If you see us come say Hi. Blue and white 240 with Bimini up all day to save my bald head, lol.
