Hi Carl! We are thinking of going out the 4th also. But first I need to change out the fuel pumps on both outboards. Neither motor is working right now. I need to use it more so the gas wont go bad!

I love Sandy Point, we always used to go there at least once per trip for the day. Now might be 3x per season for an hour or 2. One of my biggest regrets when the water level went back up in the late 90s early 2000s, was not going up river.

LOL, that was just an Anchor Man reference. I don't own Big Deal, nor do I have houseboat or a big cabin cruiser at Mead.

This was late afternoon Friday of Memorial Day Weekend.

Looking forward to the 4th like you cannot believe... The weather, Carb problems, and the weather pretty much ruined my Memorial Day.
Was supposed to go out last weekend, checkout the Spectra get together, run the boat, and regain a bit of my sanity, but was recruited help my dad and stepmom move.

5-7 houseboats and a few cruisers? Oh WOW, wonder where we're all going to fit
There are typically 12-17 boats in the group I run with, but the average is 25', and we all head back to TB at the end of the day.

And the fishing sucks.

Awesome, I'll keep any eye out for you, and stop by for a beer.

I forgot to ask the office when the last time they got a new load of fuel in. We all know the gas up isn't all that great to begin with, and cooking day in, and day out, in those tanks doesn't do it any favors. But I know what you mean. In the year I've had my boat, I've used it a total of 40 minutes!

My 240 lived it's whole life at Mead so gotta take it back where it's familiar. I don't know any of you or what your boats look like except maybe @Runs2rch , so keep and eye out for us, would love to meet any inmates.

Does Terrible's in Henderson still sell 100LL? Any place closer to main marina, like in Boulder?

Hey Josh, I'm friends with Kevin. We met 2 years ago on the beach during the same trade show. If I wasn't going to Sacramento that weekend for a wedding, I'd be there!

I do know for fact that all that Temple Bar offers is 87 and Diesel. Unfortunately can speak for any of the other marinas, nor do I know of any place in Henderson that sells 100 Octane. However the Rebel in Boulder City used to, been a while since I stopped there.

Last I checked Terribles at Lake Mead and Van Wagonen still sold 100 octane. I'll check on the way home from work today and let you know.

Yes, the rebel in Boulder still sells 100...when the pumps are working. Seems like lately at least 1 of the pumps for 100 is out of order.

the rebel distribution facility at Sahara/I15 sells Sunoco 110 race gas for $8 pump as much as you wish.

I've only started exploring this part of the lake over the last few years and made it to Big Sandy twice. The view on drive up that way is incredible, so different from the lower basin. I tried to go up past Sandy to do some exploring on Thanksgiving last year but didn't make it far as it was too shallow. We still do some of the coves in the lower basin to see familiar faces but now we like to take our party out to the middle of the upper basin and just float, so peaceful out there.

Sad to see Big Sandy as it is today and not as years past when it was a peninsula and you could go around and enjoy the back side. Of course that reminds me of also going up the mouth of the Grand Canyon for quite a ways on our 32 Spectra.

That beach was called Gilligan's. Yes & No... You can Download the NOAA Chart
18687 for Lake Mead and it'll have all the Official Names of a good percentage of the Islands, Coves, Beaches, Landmarks. However, names like Gilligan's, Hallett Beach, Big Sandy aren't going to be on there.

I tried to go up past Sandy to do some exploring on Thanksgiving last year but didn't make it far as it was too shallow. Couldn't agree with you more. This was on middle of the afternoon, on a Saturday, in August, last Summer, in the middle of Virgin Basin. We floated out there for about 3 hours and maybe saw 4 boats.

That would be Sandy Point, or as people who launch on the Nevada side of Mead refer to it Big Sandy.

Will be going to Mean for the first time this month, the 24th to the 30th, first few days will be a church trip, they get 4 or 5 houseboats out of Calville Bay for the high schoolers and I volunteered my boat for tubing a few hours a day. The wife and kids will be coming up for the weekend. Could be the start of many trips to Mead as @Riley1 will likely be moving to Boulder city. Looking forward to exploring what the lake has to offer.

So we are going to Lake Naci in middle of July & I am bring the boat home from Havasu.

July 29th we are going on a Vegas trip and staying at the Bellagio. Anyone know if they allow boat parking? Thinking about taking the whole week off and doing Lake Mead for a day or two. Then take the boat back to Havasu.
