They tax our income, basically everything after that is taxed twice. Cracks me up that they can tax things like used vehicles for as many times as it sells.

Pay more in taxes than the pittance I recieve from my pay

The tax that always gripes me is property tax on boats and airplanes. Buy a boat / airplane for $75,000. get taxed every year for as long as you own it.

Buy a diamond ring / Picasso never get taxed again. Tax the depreciating assets, not the the ones going up in value. Crazy.

It is brutal. I can’t imagine living in NJ or Texas. Even when the house is paid off they’re getting killed.

Lake Arrowhead last month. And last weekend, I rode my mtn bike from Huntington beach Pier to the wedge and back without seeing a single bum. Maybe I should focus on back alleys and seek them out....? Isn't that what some of you do? And did I mention, the weather was beautiful! 😎

Maybe they all moved to LBC and Sac?
You didn’t see any homeless people on the way to the ride or during? There were over 6,000 homeless in OC during the last count. Based on the latest point in time that number will likely be 10,000 in possibly the nicest county in the country. We have quite a few HB residents on the board. I’d love to hear their recent experiences..
I’m a born and raised. Seen a lot of changes in 55years. Besides less smog what’s getting better? Just curious for the die hard CA people.
Is there anything that would change your mind to move out or is the weather the great equalizer that trumps all? Taxes climb every year. Homeless populations are off the charts. Crime isn’t far behind.

No I saw zero homeless that day. I do see them here and there from time to time just like I always have....

I'm simply going to repost my reply from page 5.

I've been in SoCal my entire life. I'm with BingerFang and Tortilla on this. If I wasn't into Moto, mtn biking, Hot Rods, the Beach Scene and great weather I might consider moving, but where would I go? SoCal has the largest Hot Rod Car culture and the most national caliber Motocross tracks in the world. For me, that's huge. The River and Vegas are pretty close (which I like). I work "outside" so the great weather is a luxury I value.

I know there's shit areas here and there and I mostly avoid them. Isn't that the same most everywhere? I don't like crowds, so I avoid them too (just like when I go to the river). The good areas outweigh the bad by a lot. I made the choice early on to live near my work so I don't deal with much traffic. Simple logic imo.

Most of the people I know who moved out of state, don't play or work outside. They're more into "spectating life" via fantasy sports or Netflix from the couch. Why not cash in on your equity and move where it's Hot as Africa and cheap af? Just keep the air on and stay inside right? Be my guest!

If any of you share my interests and found somewhere better to live please speak up. I've never lived anywhere else and I have an open mind. 🍺

Honestly if you can live worth less than perfect weather for a few months out of the year and a different balance of what you mentioned, there are a shitload of places to look at that might be interesting.

Not having to drive an hour and a half+ and plan an entire day to enjoy my hobbies has been a game changer.

You’re saying there’s not a ton of homeless in the offshore scene👍😁
Lol

Fuckin vagrants and tweakers wherever you go it seems. Been all over this country. They’re everywhere. It’s not just a ca thing.

Nice when
They’re in their holes though 😁

I wish you guys would figure out a way to get the shit straight out there! Cali is the most beautiful State from top to bottom in my opinion and the last time I was there was in 2012. I will never bring another dime of my money back there until it implodes and hopefully rises from the ashes.

If the weather wasn't so nice I would imagine you all would've figured out how to fix the shit already!🤔

Same here. Lucky enough to visit and enjoy cities all across the county on a regular basis. Homeless are everywhere, but no matter how you slice it Ca has a huge issue. Most overall, 3rd most per capita and 10 of the top 15 worst cities. These are pre-pandemic numbers. The new Ca number will be in excess of 250k. All on the taxpayer.

Different balance?

I've clearly laid out the positive things keeping me in California. As I said, I work outside so no, I'm not interested in living in death valley heat or sub zero cold a few months out of the year.

I don't know your story which is fine, but the hour and a half + drives or day to enjoy a hobbie isn't a problem I have so I'm not sure why you're mentioning that.

So once again..... If any of you share my interests and found somewhere better to live please speak up. I've never lived anywhere else and I have an open mind.

Population in Downtown San Diego is 35k. Havasu is 57k. If I was a trust fund baby I’d be on an island all by myself with my huntin dog, trust me. Lol
Don’t forget to mention Downtown San Diego is only 2.3 square miles…. Havasu is 20x that size…

I agree I used to love living on the peninsula but let’s be real did we not all hate the tourists, renters and Costa Mesa people making traffic and ruining our life style or was it just me😂. Seriously my patio furniture is mine not yours to take out on the sand.

You must be in the Bank of America tower because that brown building straight in front is 355 S. Grand, our building! Too bad I'm not in the office today. The pictures I posted are all right there...the steps at the US Bank Tower/LA Library, two Cal Plaza in the background etc.

Awesome :)

id kill to be in California now. Need a beach fix and another half day fishing at Fisherman’s Landing. Plus I have 3 more sections to see on the Midway. Ran out of time last time. 😀 plus ride the Airplane video ride if they still have them.

Who did RD piss off....

"The study gave Arizona an "F" grade in life, health and inclusion. It also gave "D" grades in the area of education, cost of living, and access to capital.
There were no strengths in Arizona that ranked in the top 50% of those measured."

No doubt. Currently teleworking again due to an outbreak in our office. Sucks, I enjoy going into the office and DTLA.

When we return in a couple of weeks I'll keep an eye out for you. 👍
