Again people keep coming in with the hate but all that hate!? Not sure why if you’ve left good for you if you’re planing on or thinking about leaving good for you! But remember EVERYONE that leaves is taking a little bit of California voting with them! Where will you go next? What state is the next for all you that are fleeing to turn blue?

Arizona is just one example and most seem to be moving there. Just from the information I get from all the threads in this lounge section you guys will vote in some of the restrictions/taxes that you bitched about in California! It’s like all the wakeboard boat hate and tow nazi threads! You’ll vote for something to be taken away from someone’s fun and slowing start taking your own away at the same time. Enjoy where you’re at now before all the others that ran from California take it away from you! Look what you guys have already done to the Real estate market in havasu! There is no more affordable housing so no labor force! Maybe you guys should vote in some of this great affordable housing ideas we have in California to help ease the burden on small families trying to make a living? Maybe lower the rent on one of you many rental houses? Maybe allow people to park Motorhomes on city streets for as long as they need? Then maybe they’ll be able to make you that fine Mexican food you all keep saying doesn’t exist in havasu? Sound crazy? It’s coming and your the ones brining those ideas with you! Enjoy the weather outside California!!
I hear you. This thread is supposed to be about celebrating all the good things Cali has. I get it. But you lose me on suggesting those leaving here from this forum are going to go somewhere else and vote in the typical Liberal California way. I'd argue those leaving, from this board, are doing so because they have had enough and want to get back to what California used to be.

Side note, it sounds as if you don't mind a motor home parking infront of your favorite spots, maybe even your home. Cool, when I can drop mine off, storage is kind of expensive😂

Either way, the only thing different about here and many other places in this beautiful country is the Ocean. Most everything else can be had in the same manner, but you would be visiting a lake instead. All good, to each his own. 👍

I hear the Gov gave you guy's a present!!! Gas tax goes up July 1st!!!! The good news is, it won't change yore weather. 👍
Additional taxes suck, but what they do with the money is the problem IMO. I can afford .03 per gallon, but what I get pissed off at is taking my money, calling it a surplus, and then cutting checks to those in the lower tax brackets. That’s classic redistribution of wealth.

Headed to the beach now. Going to be a beautiful day.

Like I said you’ll bring a little of your Cali thinking and won’t even no it! But just as many liberals are leaving all you have to do is look! It’s all coming your way it will just be in whatever state with more heat, cold, bugs, humidity, traffic, where will you run to next?

I’ve got family here all the grandparents to my kids are here and they’re retired and living comfortably!

Flee what family, great weather, income, nice house that cost less than rent? No thanks!

Motorhomes? He’ll I use mine to camp in OC in front of my brother in laws, friends camp in front of my house for parties and holidays!

Maybe get a house you can store your motorhome at?

I was in a lake yesterday waterskiing I’ll be at the beach this afternoon celebrating my brothers 50! Oh and we’re bringing a motorhome with us to Del Mar!

California is what you make of it if your not happy here go find it somewhere else! I’m happy here and so is my family so hearing how great it is somewhere else isn’t going to get me to move. Hearing someone bitching about wanting to leave or leavening isnt changing that either!

Forgot about daughters final tennis match of the season this morning!

OC marathon this morning. Not a bad place to take a run….if I liked doing that sort of stuff.
Cool little street. Some family friends have a HUGE house... well one of many right there. It's the one that looks like it's out of a Hobbit movie. Awesome views, great weather, but still just not my style for permanent living. Too many people around all the time.

Fun story... on the south side of that street there is a little walking path that goes down over a little cliff view hang out. Myself, my buddies and some chicks were hanging out at the bottom of those cliffs at night and one of my not so smart friends decided to free climb from the rocks at the bottom up to the lookout point. He got to the top, grabbed the wrong patch of rock, and fell back down to bottom. Both ankles dislocated and his feet were sideways. I carried him on my back off the rocks and up that hill. That was a fun story for the parents as none of us had been drinking or anything else, just young idiots hanging out.

I’m guessing you’re talking about this house. It’s our favorite house. It reminds me of California Adventure.

It's like a cover charge at a nice club...

It keeps all the rif-raf out! 😁
No, no, no....It's like a HUGE cover charge at a nice club, well, a club that has a good temperature control system and plays a good song once every-so-often, has a corner area that has really nice paint...The electricity goes out sometimes and you can't get ice for your drinks because, you know, drought but once inside, you head to the VIP area and pay absorbent amounts for bottle service and a private booth, which comes with a sur-charge on your charge. While you sit there, looking at the nicely painted wall trying to ignore the other walls that look like dog shit. You focus on the handful of nice people in the one area of the club and look away from the guy stabbing another guy at the other side of the club all the while security is told by management to ignore it and focus on ensuring the VIP's have paid their sur-charge's. You're feeling pretty good but then, much to your chagrin, you look at the VIP booth next to you and notice the club is letting in the rif-raf through the back door and giving them free bottle service and private booths.....

:D

Sorry, couldn't help myself. On another note, thinking about running the boat to the islands this weekend. Supposed to be 73 at the beach and calm waters.

Went down to HB today for the last time in a while and got to witness a homeless man drop trough, and take a shit in the planters in front of a gas station while we waited to make a turn. Hope they figure this out because it's getting ridiculous.

Not everybody's cup of tea, but I enjoy working in DTLA. I first started working there in 1988, and recently returned to an office in the Wells Fargo Towers, where I will finish out my career. I ride the train from Riverside to Union Station, where I catch the subway to Pershing Square. My entire trip, including the subway and walking, takes 1.5 hours.

Bee hives in our office courtyard.

My building is on the far right. This location on Grand and 3rd is where about 80% of all car commercials are filmed.

When I first started in DTLA in 88', the majority of powerhouse law firms were down the hill in the financial district. But now they are all up on Bunker Hill. The world's largest, international firms are all found in a cluster of about 6 buildings.

Metro Rail (subway) exit at Pershing Square/4th Street exit. Walking up the stairway exit and then up to Bunker Hill is a workout; but I need that, lol

Two Cal Plaza, our building, and one Cal plaza in the background.

Bunker Hill Steps found right below the white First Interstate Tower. My co-workers and I give these a once up/down after eating lunch.

LA Central Library. Years ago and wile waiting for traffic to let up, I would spend hours in there, lost in its 5-levels of "stuff"

I also love working DTLA...

You mentioned the First Interstate Building... I recently found out from a Battalion Chief friend of mine that my Dad (LAFD) Fire Capt was the first man in the building when the First Interstate Building caught fire on May 4, 1988.. I'm very proud of my Dad...
Lots of LA history...

Right on for your pops, that took some cajones!

I arrived in DTLA about 6 months later and would frequently walk by that OG "First Interstate Tower." Now it's called the AON Center *you can see the building in several of my photos)

And like a dumbass, I'm referring to what used to be the "new" First Interstate Tower, the former tallest building that has since been re-branded as the US Bank Tower.

Recently, as we laughed about the possibility of a quake or fire, I joked with my co-workers about the "Towering Inferno" movie and my reference drew blank stares that turned into "fawk you must be old" laughter, lol.

Hey I was a kid when that move came out...

It's still kinda weird and like a ghost town. Many restaurants were scuttled and never returned.

But yeah, back in the day it was humming with people and hot women! Not so much now, but I'm hoping it gets back to normal, soon. Still some cuties though.

The subway is fuggin disgusting...

Lake Arrowhead last month. And last weekend, I rode my mtn bike from Huntington beach Pier to the wedge and back without seeing a single bum. Maybe I should focus on back alleys and seek them out....? Isn't that what some of you do? And did I mention, the weather was beautiful! 😎
