Played El Prado for the first time in probably a dozen years, 43 on the front and 41 on the back, no complaints other than a cart that died about 200 yards out on the first hole, lol.
My drives seemed dead, broke out some new balls, chrome soft, at the turn and probably added 30 yards.
Do golf balls wear out?
Probably 2 and a half rounds on balls.
They go bad after time but the extra 30 yards came from you. I’ve hit some pretty bad range balls REALLY far!

Must be a mental thing, same balls. Never really had this old ball issue till lately, used to lose a couple balls per round, now they are lasting a few rounds each.

Absolutely they wear out. I typically will cycle it after 1 or two rounds, or that decision is made for me but g

Played Del Montey in Monterey this morning. Super fun course. In great shape. Pretty difficult with some thick rough but played decent with and 83. Happy with that on a new tract.

Yes. Here for a work event. Juniors are free with an adult after 230. Figured, what the hell!
Very cool. Wish my kids stayed with the game. They loved driving the cart. Golf, not so much.
My boss was a member 25 years ago. Haven’t played it much since then. Watched the collegiate championships last month. The course looks awesome.

That's the north course and would have been about double. Lol. I loved it. We even got a 4 seater cart for little man and mom to watch us play.

I wish we had a more active first tee program where I live for my kids. My cousin who lives in near Monterey area has 2 boys and they have had some serious doors open for them as a family for being a part of it.

In NC visiting the daughters. Oldest lives on Forest Oaks, which I found out used to host a PGA tour event. Really nice course but the greens are fast/tough compared to what we are used to.

I went from low to mid 90’s to low 100’s. I am a shitty golfer for sure but am getting more consistent. Off to Michigan on Saturday to visit family and get some golf in.

They just finished an 18 month renovation there. The course looks really nice. All new greens. Everytime I drive by there the parking lot has been full daily since opening. I live just up the street a bit.

My youngest son has set one up in the back of the shop, he and friends regularly get together for a round at night. All I know is that I find stray balls in inventory bins, holes in the ceiling insulation, empty beer cans on the benches, etc.

Played Los Serranos South again this morning. Their app deal makes going out as a single pretty damn easy. I can book late at the last minute and get an early round in. Course is in good shape. They’re watering the hell out of it to get through the heat wave. Fun part is I shot a stroke lower on the front with no putter in the bag. I did some minor tweaking to get some burrs out of my 25yr old Scotty and left it soaking in an oil rag. Texted my wife at 6:30 to drop it off at the pro shop. 😬. In hindsight, should have kept putting with my hybrid.

She is.. 99% of the time i wouldn’t even send it to her. Daughter stayed over last night and had to leave early to pick up her husband. I knew she was up. The best part is that it forced me to work on my short game. My irons were brutal today so I got plenty of practice.

Got a chance to play Riviera yesterday as part of a charity deal. Ended my streak of playing really well and shit a “generous” 88. Started on the range with 3 hosel rockets 😳 and battled back from there all day. Coworker shot an insane 75. He’s 6’6” and absolutely kills the ball.

Edit: Anyone want a RIV hat? Not quite my style.

Played Balboa this morning. Course is in good shape for mid July and a city course. I had trouble with the driver to start out but settled in and ended up with a 92. Not bad for me, my brother shot 74. He ain’t no hacker like I am.

Hesperia golf and country club. Drive getting there and back sucked! Tee boxes were nice and level, and fairways and first cut of rough were in great shape. Greens were nice as well but no one could fix a ball mark, WTF?

About as far as Hemet?😂 I’m not sure the newest generation of golfers know about the divot thing or even raking the traps for that matter

Supried I didn't get it lol. I play there a lot. It can be a tuff tract. They have it in really good shape for being as hot as it's been.

The other day I reed off at 6am, there were fresh ball marks on most greens. I fixed so many. I don't know who is doing it but it's bull shit.

We were second out at 552 and I am pretty sure the ball marks weren't from the first twosome that went out in front of us. They were everywhere but the fairways and greens on the first 2 holes. At least they realized they were having a rough start and just picked up and moved into the next holes quickly!

Cant be mad at that.

The pitch marks always get me. If your good enough to make it you should be prepared to fix it. Maybe Hesperia needs some signs saying fix your marks on all the holes.

5:41 tee time this morning. Los Serranos North. Two of us ended up playing behind the first group (foursome). The starter said they played fast, he wasn’t kidding. We waited on a couple shots but never saw them after 13. Course is in pretty good shape. A few mud bogs from over watering in the heat but no complaints here. Home before 10am even after a beer and a burger after the round.

Played Los Serranos South early this morning with a neighbor. Shot a scrambling 78 thanks to a pitch in eagle. 😳. Tee and short game were solid. I couldn’t hit a short iron on the back to save me.

Where's 1 thru 4? I like to check out the yardages and how players did on certain holes. Thanks, oh and good score. 👍

Shot 41 front, 34 back yesterday. Exec course.
My putting was exceptionally poor on the front.....or more accurately, my luck was good on the back.
I have a horrible time with the under 6' putts😮‍💨😮‍💨 I probably miss more 3'ers than I make.😔😒

Thanks, you already posted 5-18. 2 par 5's in a row to start the round.
The south gives you a chance to get your tempo 1-3z. Gets pretty tough after that, especially in the afternoon wind. 1 isn’t really hard if you hit a decent shot in the fairway. 2 sets up for my hook. 3 is one of the last “easy” pars for awhile.
