Congrats to the Johnson fam! I'm sure you guys will love it.

I've met a lot of boat dealers and brokers over the past few years and they are definitely not built equally. Preston and the Horizon crew are absolutely top notch. Shameless plug-stop reading here if this offends lol-but they include free Boat Bling product with every delivery. Even though they don't sell any product retail (sold in same building under Quality Marine) Horizon is still in the top 5-10% of dealers by volume.

Oh and congrats Dave it looks like a really nice boat that would do well in Tahoe. Not sure I've ever seen a 27' twin engine V-hull before.

Very nice Dave...did you have to parts ways with anything boat wise?

This is the engagement phase.. I'm not married to it yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be married to it tomorrow after we run it!

Nice! I wana know the details how the handling issues go and such.

I have a few things I'm gonna try. First thing is to go run it and see what's actually happening.

I have no problems with Steve for the 100th time! Lol

What about him with you?

Did he know it was you making the purchase?

His entire meltdown was pretty entertaining...so I have to ask.

That I don't know to be honest. I don't think Steve gives a shit though. He doesn't get emotionally attached to boats and cars. He had a number, Preston paid the number and that's all that maters.

So the big question is...

Do they both fit in the garage?

Don't hold your breath. I was supposed to get one 5 years ago. :)

They will here shortly! Just have to ditch some couches and some home gym equipment that is collecting dust. Lol.

Sweet ride! I swear I saw that boat yesterday south of Boulder City on 95 being pulled by a camper.

I don't mean to be "that guy", but every time I was on FB he was asking about problems he was having with the boat. Knowing Steve he will stand behind what he sells, but did he get all the quorks figured out?

TANK YOU PRESTON AT HORIZON MOTORSPORTS!!

I can tell you guys there are two people that have done shit for me in the Marine Industry that I owe for life. One is Lee at Schiada, for getting the 21 ready in a monster hurry for a family trip when we found out my mom had cancer.

The other is Preston at Horizon. This guy made my pontoon transaction so painless and so easy going.. Then today... Just unbelievable how far he has gone out of his way for my family.

I honestly can't recommend him enough!
Congrats on the new ride Dave, should make you a great boat, looked at the 27 halletts a few years back fine boat, and as I said always liked the Halletts first flat was a Hallett 18 with a 396, good times, I think youl be a happy camper:thumbsup

If the spacers are on it remove them and you will be good to go. That boat never had any real issues. Steve's head has issues.

If he spent that much time screwing with it we are gonna at least see how it runs now..

But yes part of the plan is to remove the spacers, try some props, try rotations, etc..

Congrats to you Dave. :thumbsup We have a thing in common, twin mercs and small blocks:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
You may want to change rotation spinning outwards for better maneuvering at the dock. It will literally spin the boat around its axis. It looks like your boat was setup originally like it as the drive shower pickup location indicates it. I tried mine turning inwards and it seemed to get on plane a little more difficult. turning inwards settled my hull deeper though for less chine walking but going back outwards rotation just required a notch down on the tabs without loosing speed. I'm sure your boat like mine will love running better in rougher water.

Props were spinning out before Steve got a hold of it. Does it still have the auxiliary fuel tank? Perfect Powell setup.

Done it again I posted about it and Steve scooped it up. Recall mentioning Dave could have 3 Scorpions as well.

I want to know why this is the Holy Grail. I know 0 about these boats. Is it the hull shape? The motors? Is it the interior? Is it that they don't make this anymore, or if they do its three times the price?

I think that had something to do with the previous owner and his OCD affliction.

You know, I never met Steve but man that dude would really REALLY go all out when he flipped things!

First I saw was a house he built ground up in Havi. With a mural on the wall that made me think, like man, not necessary at all, but hey to each is own. Then the many motorhomes. Shoot I still think about that damn Alpine coach a year later when he made that thread.

I was never in the market, but with the dang upgrades. I was telling my wife, "Honey, we need a motorhome in our life! Especially a 2003/2004 Alpine!!!

Maybe a 34? The 27 is fine behind a half ton.. towed it around today and was no worries.

It's stashed in Andy01's RV garage until I can clean mine out of these three couches and the Bowflex to make room for it.
