PS you could get this truck for under 50k if you delete the center console and black appearance package.

That blows the Ram Tradesmen all to shit.

Unless you need to carry 6 large dudes, I think the center console really uplifts the usability and feel of that truck. I don't know why it is $1K in an F250, but it is probably worth it. You do get rear seat vents, power outlets, etc. which makes it a better place to be for the people in the back, or our unwashed offspring. :)

Also the center console is a great place for a safe.

Awesome!

Now that the original intent of the thread on complete, I feel I can ask all my questions I've been dying to ask to see what other people's feedback, if any is.....

Anybody have any comparison between the godzilla and the 6.6 GM gasser?

The 6.6 got smoked by the 7.3 on the Ike gauntlet on TFL

Get this one. Identical to the $325 one, just a different combo lock. If you want the different lock with a key and combo, they are $20 on amazon.

It is on sale right now. Spend the 6 months waiting for your truck lining the inside of the safe with adhesive felt.

In all fairness, the only max load test they did on the Ford was with the 4:30's and the Chevy only had 3.73's.

I really dont know why GM won't put the 10 speed "Allison" behind it.

That isn't even "in fairness" because sadly the GM 2500 gas offering sucks. 6.6 gas engine, 6 speed trans, and the steepest (only) rear gear you can get is the 3.73.

GM is lagging behind in every aspect of the powertrain, and I am a GM guy.

I thought I read somewhere that they at least offered a 4:10. I guess not.

Yeah, pretty piss-poor effort really.

I don't see it, in either 2WD or 4WD trim. As you said, the 10 speed would go a long way.

Yeah, I went and double checked and don't see it either. Pretty hard to imagine that there wasn't a truck exec at GM that said "wait a minute here...." they screwed the pooch good. They aren't too far off in power either, but are working at a HUGE disadvantage with the mechanical advantage going to Ford.

Surprisingly though, the GM did get slightly better mileage than the Ford.

You would think.

It should get a little better gas mileage for how much slower it was. .7L smaller engine, taller rear end = less RPM. All of that would equal a little less fuel used if the engine efficiency was similar.

When you get yore VIN sign up in the tracking thread at

I was able to track my build and also the train ride. I knew it was at the dealer before they did...
That’s the website I found out about granger Ford in Iowa.
Website saved me a bunch of money.

Hell yes it is!
The wait will be brutal!!! June 2022 delivery estimate. Yikes!
I ordered mine 6/12021, took delivery 8/29/21. I was told it could be up to 9 months out when I ordered. Maybe you will also get an earlier than expected delivery.

I’m ok with it taking a little bit. Gives me time to save up a bit more money. And get some more credit card points for the flight out there.

Congrats on the new truck!
As for mine-order date was 11/1/21, haven't gotten the email with the VIN assignment and production date yet.....talked to the dealer Tuesday and he said it should be getting a prod. date soon, Ford accepted the order (no issue with options etc)....He is still thinking late Feb/March.

What trim level? I’m hearing the basic trucks are getting built quicker.

Higher the trim level the longer.

Dual axle
Bed liner
5th wheel prep
Steering assist

Will all greatly delay your delivery date

Gave one of these a serious look. I DD so I went diesel. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, the Godzilla is a BEAST. Especially with 4.30s. No reason to go with any other gear with the triple OD. I’m sure it will be a huge step up from the Ram gasser. Interested to see your MPG, both towing and not.

200ish miles today, rain, then snow, then ice, then snow again. Still a beast, still a truck I really like and would buy if I was in the market for a gasser. Interior still sucks compared to my ram IMO. I like the instrument cluster better however, and its display setup. I just absolutely hate the seats, especially the material.

Only gripe on driving it was over the pass when you were doing 55ish it seems to search for a gear endlessly...its still new with virtually no miles so maybe it will wear in and not be so bad. The ride is great, the locker/4wd setup works flawless and is simple. Sounds like you made your order @bldrinker, im sure it will be a great truck for you. The lane assist deal is annoying AF...I turn it off every time I get in it.

My mpg will be shit and shitier.

I’m guessing 14 highway 11 city from what I’m hearing.

Some guys are claiming 16-17 highway. But they don’t have 4:30 and are probably driving 65.

Lariat Sport Tremor, crew cab short bed, 4.30's, Iconic silver, most options except tow assist and steering assist. I had initially ordered the bed cover and bed liner, but removed those items after reading about the delays they cause due to a 3rd party vendor installation. I won't be surprised if the delivery date is closer to May.

Tremors look sick. My plan is to add some tremor wheel and tire take offs and a valance and then pretend I bought a Tremor lol.

Shit just got real.

I will have some very low mileage take offs, available sometime between March and June :)
That’s about my delivery time. I need to save up for my hunting trip next November as well.

And buy a Toyhauler. My pockets will get a a bit dry by then so keep in touch and we will see if I can take them off your hands.

I have been pondering a truck. Going between the Ram 6.4 and the Ford 7.3. I have made up my mind that it will be a Ford 7.3. The only question is 3.55 or 4.30 rear end. I won't be heavy towing at this point, but it is always nice to be able to if needed.

I saw this video last night. The guy has maxed it out on weight, and over loaded it with 3.55s.

You could go in the middle with 3:73.

Really depends on how much unloaded freeway driving you do.

At most I’m going to commute in it once a week 120mile round trip.
If fuel mileage is really bad I will just take the Durango or the Jeep.

My 6.4L Ram on 35s with 4:10 gets better hwy mileage than my wifes Jeep with factory 4:10s on 35s... lol! I would get the 4.30 gear no matter what obviously since all my gas guzzlers all have the lowest factory gears offered.

140 miles yesterday and I burned around 12 gallons from seatac to leavenworth. That was also over pretty steep grades/and in snow/ice. Thats WAY better than I was expecting out of this truck.

I believe it. My 6.4 6 speed with 4:88 was 15mpg. My Jeep with 4:10’s and 35’s is about 15mpg.
And I believe you have an 8 speed behind your 6.4. So that makes sense.

nope..empty truck except Bri, MaK and suitcases. Snoqualmie pass then 97, both long grades at around 55-60 due to road conditions. It does a little bit better locally when you aren't doing the pass. Maybe 10-15 miles in 4wd of that. 2600 miles on it currently. I'll see what the dash says is average as im guessing no one has reset it.

I figure straight reasonably flat highway would improve it quite a bit...just what I saw yesterday.

GM should put a truck tuned 7.0L in the heavy trucks . Then you’d have something . You’re right though , GM has been lagging everywhere .

I sold a Ford F450 to a friend in 2005, He text me today that the V-10 finally let loose today at 316,000 miles. He did oil changes at least every 20,000 miles or whenever he needed a new transmission. It has had 3 now. It had a 10' Service bed and weighed 12-15K lbs on it loaded with tools and driven daily. He is having another V-10 dropped in for $11k with 100K mile warranty. The new gas motors hold up to heavy work.

Good looking truck. Hopefully it arrives in sooner than planned.
Right? I have a 392 Wrangler on order since summer. Keep getting updates that it will be delayed. So I will have a 21 model in 22. If we take delivery.

I heard that they automatically re-order it as a 2022. I would contact the dealer and ask.
That would piss me off it’s a 21.

On the Ford forum they list what will delay your build date. Maybe Jeep does the same.

Active steering
Dual rear axle
Spray in liner

Get you a spot at the back of the line with super duty builds.

I wanted the liner it was only $595. But being pushed out wasn’t worth the $100 savings.
