So question for those in the know….

My rig is in RV storage.
If I dont use the truck for an extended time I was going to use the Ford app to remote start the truck and let it idle for 10-15 minutes to save the trip to the rv storage . Is that a potential issue?

FordPass shuts down to conserve battery after a week or two. Unless you do it biweekly religiously, you’ll try it and it won’t work.

What are you trying to solve for? Unless you up the idle speed, letting it idle for 10-15 mins isn’t really doing anything.

Just trying to keep batteries and camper batteries from getting too low. I think id be better off just taking it for a 20 minutes drive

Sucks having to store it

If you're storing it, charge the batteries to 100% and then disconnect them. No connection, no drain. Just plan ahead about reconnecting (ie leave the hood unlatched).

We have a 2020 f250 with the 7.3 and 10 speed trans that we bought as a second truck for the business. Crew cab, 6foot bed, 4wd, 3.73 axle ratio, STX model as it is a work truck and I love it. I only use our f350 dually 6.7l diesel for long trips and really big boats over #10,000. We have 84,000miles on the 7.3 and have not had a single problem with it. My only complaint is I wish it had the 48 gallon fuel tank our dually has. Other than that, it is fantastic!

I hardly drive my truck, so easy to just throw it on a trickle charger and not worry about it.

It’s a damn good option.
Here is my 2 cents.
If you drive it everyday and tow heavy. Get a diesel.

If you drive it not vey often and tow less than 14-15k get gas.

If money isn’t a problem get a diesel.
