I would like a president who doesn’t compel my international co-workers to genuinely express concern for my safety and fellow countryman’s sanity.

I can speak from personal experience on ACA. Quick summary. Wife and kids got dropped from Cadillac employer plan January 2016. Filed appeal. Denied (Whole other story). Went on BC/BS website to buy insurance, you don’t deal with them directly. Received 20+ calls in first hour from brokerage houses nation wide. Picked one who told me he was selling me a Silver PPO, slightly less coverage than work plan but comparable in monthly cost.
Teen daughter starts having stomach issues (still unresolved) around September 2016. Wife takes daughter to third specialist for appointment in December, who proceeds to inform us that we don’t have actual insurance, rather a Supplemental plan. Long story long. $500 a month the entire year for HC, $138,000 dollars in medical debt all because the guy from an out of state brokerage told me one thing and then logged it as something different so he could get a larger signing bonus. Hired an attorney (still pending). Current update........brokerage house no longer exists, and multiple attorneys I spoke with said they’re seeing this all over due to open border policy on brokerage houses from state to state. Harder to control.
The problem isn’t providing health care for everyone. It’s the lack of regulation on health care companies and insurance companies from boosting prices since day one. This will never be fixed because Big Pharma and the like, line the political pockets. Same concept as Federally Backed Student Loans.
Another Democrat backed debacle by the way.

Oh and PS: had to pay the Feds an extra $3,600 in taxes as the penalty for not having insurance for me three dependents.

You do know people are leaving California in droves because of being overtaxed and/or under served? As businesses and people with money leave the state who do you think will be picking up the bill for this failed socialist experiment? At some point I don’t see how the dumb fucks that vote Democrat here won’t regret it. You have to ask yourself what do the liberals that paid millions for beach front houses in Venice think now that surrounded by homeless encampments. At what point do you honestly believe Democratic governing can turn this disaster around? How would you like to be paying taxes and a mortgage on your vacant commercial property with ten more just like it within a five minute walk? This failed experiment is real and I don’t wish this on the rest of the country but hey there are people that actually believe that free shit is really free.

I've got to say that so many people seem concerned about affordable health care has me worried. Everyone talks about which side is going to offer a better health care plan and I don't think it should be the governments responsibility to insure anyone. What I think the governments responsibility should be is to make sure that health care is affordable and not a gravy train for the insurance company's. When I was growing up almost no one had health insurance, when you got sick you went to the doctor and paid for his services and they were affordable. that is where the true problem lies, not in what insurance plan is the best but the root cause is the forever escalating price of health care. If we can make health care more reasonable then we wont need gov. sponsored health care.
