Live in Melbourne, Florida. Also referred to as a free state. Couldn't be happier. 😍
When it gets below 70 it's cold.
Nice and toasty in the summer months, I like hot.
Airboats seem more popular around here than off roading.
No driving in snow and slush. Been there did that. 😣

Multiple indoor and outdoor shooting ranges available. 🙂
Those Fla airboat guys are something.... in college we had guys running em at night on asphalt with sparks everywhere.... powerful & loud things

We really like Temecula and what’s around us. I hear about the traffic but do to the job I have now rarely get stuck in it. Only thing we don’t have that we both want in Temecula is a single story house with RV parking.

But if I had it my way I’d move back to Yucaipa tomorrow.

Don’t really see us permanently leaving California but definitely see us buying a vacation house somewhere eventually.
If you're ever interested in moving to Oceanside I have a single story (2300sf) with RV parking on a half acre ..... its also zoned for horses too, about 8 miles to the beach. Has a private road to the backyard for the RV parking and whatever else. Jeffries Ranch area. No plans on listing it but if a buyer happens to come along! For whatever reason we find ourselves in Havasu most of the time.

Edit: No HOA

It's alright... Lake in the backyard, 10 bar/restaurants on the water, wildlife, kind people, no crime (someone stole a bunch of mail earlier this year is the crime of the century)...

It does get cold, and I am not getting along with the leaves. I blew the driveway off yesterday, and this is what it looked like this afternoon!

Not "LOF," They told him that if he moved to "Utah" he could have multiple wives.

You have what I dream everyday about! Waking up to this every morning with my yellow lab and wetting a fly, and breathing fresh air is our ultimate place. I envy you!! Would love to see more pictures of your place.😊

I hat all the Cali BS but love HB. Pretty conservative and chill
X2 but we’re outta California in 3 years when my wife finally retires unless there’s a huge reversal of direction in Sacramento. My biggest concern is the Socialism Policies are now even getting absorbed into Orange County. Eventually HB will be a 💩 Show like the rest of the state.

I don't love my house but I do love the within reach opportunities where I live and what I call a traditional lifestyle. Moved to Phoenix in 2018 after realizing I was going broke safely in Ca and would probably die of a heart attack before the age of 35 at the rate I was burning the candle at both ends. Born in 1989 and raised in San Clemente and RSM. Just have a 4 year high school education and a blue collar worker.

My wife and I feel fortunate to really love where we live. When we were kids we had similar upbringing and we both grew up being boaters. We love being on the water and will do anything to make it happen. 6 years ago she had the idea of getting a place in the HB Harbour. She really wanted our boys to finish middle and high school in CA. So spending week days with access to the Pacific are good for us. I do not really like CA Ocean boating as much as other places traveled and where we live part time but it is cool.

Havasu is really where I go to live and enjoy myself when not working or grinding in CA. The wife and boys love it but I do not think I will live here full time at any point. My wife needs a little more of the arts and options. She was an Opera singer when I met her. She has traveled the world and although she loves Lake Havasu, I want her to be able to have access to her other interests. I really think it boils down to where my boys decide to go to college and live in a few years. We are kind of in denial that that day is coming pretty quick.

The last couple of years we have invested in a place in Michigan outside of Grand Rapids. This was the lake she grew up on going there every summer since she was born. It is nice having a house on the water next to her parents but I have my own tools, garage and things there. It makes it more enjoyable for the four of us. She can still spend time with her parents and relatives visiting. That area for 6-8 weeks is unreal. It gets us out of Havasu heat and busy crowd season as well.

So in the end much like boats there really isn’t the perfect place for us year round. We are making the most and best of what works for us.

Grew up in Burbank (80’s-late 90’s) 4th gen but couldn’t see living there. Live in Agua Dulce on 3 acres in a great neighborhood with like minded people. Living here in Agua Dulce is the only way we can deal with staying here in So.Cal.
Working in the Motion Picture Industry keeps me mostly stuck here, but I do travel a lot. Traveling out of town/state has given me the opportunity to live extended amounts of time(on productions dime) and research areas for options to move.
We have 2 dream stealers, oldest is 19 and the youngest is 15…so trying to let the youngest finish high school here and while that is going on figure out the exit strategy. I think in the end we may have to settle for multiple modest homes in various states and be gypsy’s.

Havasu….hell yeah!!!
Hawaii….not so much.

I know many of you say that I am crazy…..maybe I am. 🤪 🤪 🤪 🤪

Born and raised in Hawaii. The early years were awesome. As a kid freely roaming around Hawaii Kai before “free-range” was a thing. 😂😂😂😂 Skateboarding, biking, and surfing in free time. As a young adult going out to night clubs in Waikiki was a blast. Minimal crime people were kind and considerate never had any issue. Worked hard with the wife to set a good foundation for our son. As he finished high school that is where things have changed. Population growth, traffic, frustrations in the populace. Crime rising, attacks on the elderly, women and youth.:mad::mad::mad: I had been the only one of my generation in our family still here in the islands. I had stayed as I was involved in the family business. Most of my friends and family stayed on the mainland after college. We wanted our son to have a stable household through High School and when away at college. I know too many people who’s family uprooted once the kids went to college and left the kid looking around like where did my family go.

Havasu is for me what Hawaii was in my youth. Certainly it is changing but it gives me so much calm and relaxation once I cross into the city near Walmart and Havasu Springs. Then you have RDP and the members. They are a great group of like minded people to go out and have a great time doing so many things in the area. 👍

My whole career co workers worked toward retiring in LHC or Bullhead.

It was amazingly affordable to live there and buy a nice home on a pension.

Wife rotated her growing up between Switzerland, Maryland and New Orleans.
She loves it here in Simi.
No snow packed winters, no excessive humidity, no insects.

Our home is paid for, prop 13 kinda helps, it’s gotta be tough for those starting out.

I wouldn’t say I love where we live, but I love the life we have created here for now. Pros and cons like anywhere, but I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid a lot of the parts I don’t like and put my own spin on the daily grind to make things cool. I ride my e-bike to coffee with a few pals most mornings, and get to mess around with projects and people I like, that’s a nice way to spend the days.

People are the issue with living in SoCal, high population density, entitled attitudes, and low life mother fuckers that should be put down on the spot are the biggest issues here. If you can avoid people it’s not a bad place to be 😂

I try not to get caught up in wanting some other life some other place, just enjoy what I have in front of me each day. Reality is all the new shiny wears off on everything eventually so it’s best to enjoy the right now.

Did a little pre running yesterday to let the boys know I’m coming out for turkey day, life is good 😂

Park City Utah full time and still have our house in north central Phoenix we are visiting right now for Thanksgiving (family). I can step in my truck and be on the slopes a few minutes later. Between these two places and a few visits to California or occasional trips I have zero desire to travel or go elsewhere.

Is this where I should say "Mexicos Closed" 😇 You've done the Mexican resort thing so you've no US based fear stuff as most do. So you'd have no issue here.... Just head south on one of your Carlsbad trips to border.... then Rosaritos perhaps 30 minutes south and stay in Hotel Rosarito or maybe 20 minutes south is Las Rocas Hotel or go tad further south and stay in La Fonda. Thats about whats here. I can meet you and guide you a bit if you make a trip.

Living in the desert makes zero sense to me. This is my idea of heaven on earth as well. 👍🏼👍🏼

Sorry but it's never going to happen !!
… Spent 21 years off and on in Butte County in Northern California… there are very few similarities between Northern California and Southern California🤷🏽‍♀️

Too crowded in San Diego these days, but it was a great place to grow up. We find ourselves not going to places these days because it's a PITA. We live relatively close to the beach and never go there anymore.

Sweet Diego has lost her luster... what a great location many years ago... they blew up North County coastal due to expansion at 805/ 5 Bio Med boom... traffic is nearing LA standards. When I did business there I had about a 4 hour window to take folks to lunch and bail asap before freeways locked up. Sad.... I must say the LaJolla up to Encinitas coastal remains one of countries more beautiful areas .... as long as you dont have to commute for work.

We have done the resort thing.. couple years ago we took the sxs’s and rented houses in San Felipe for a week and went all over the place..

When I was younger and first dating Stacy we used to hit Ensenada and Rosarito all the time. Just hop in the car and go with the two of us..

At some point we stopped.. couldn’t tell ya why.

I live rural in the Delta. Small town nearby but only 30 minutes to down town Sac. I can be at a costco / walmart / major grocery store in about 20-25. Although I have to deal with the mess I don't live in it. I live in a totally different world from them. The rural farming lifestyle out here is what I love. I like my house even though it needs a ton of updating and money dumped into it. My biggest wish was I could buy about 2 more acres off the neighbor's hobby farm (27 acres). He would sell but its his second road into his house. Unfortunately its right in my backyard. 😒 I am looking carefully at the idea of leaving Ca, not because I don't like my home or "neighborhood" but because of the politics and people. The hard part is there are so many things to do nearby, and my job is anchored here. If I could find employment elsewhere I would seriously consider leaving. My wife works from home and can work anywhere East of here.

We love Arizona but both our girls moved to NC over the past 2 years and seem to want to stay East. We have already checked out Florence, AL on the Tennessee river, Lake Lewis Smith, Cullman, AL and Lake Martin near Auburn, AL. Florence is at the top of our list for now.

We are in NC for Thanksgiving and plan on spending an afternoon at Lake Norman checking it out. After that, we want to check out LOTO. Our thought is to be a days drive from all of our family. MI, TX, NC, FL.

Really, I would love Havasu but that doesn’t put us closer to any family at all, so it is probably out.

Thought I'd share this article I found that I know many of you will derive gratification from for one reason or another. I'd like to personally thank each and every person who departed for elsewhere, only another 8 million to go to reach a level I'd more appreciate (I know, I know, it's an old man's dream 😁).
