Based on what I've read here,,, you know exactly what to do and who to talk to. :thumbsup

The only feedback I can offer is stay with your program. As far as the bulkhead goes... I like the idea of having an access hole cut into the bulkhead. A removable aluminum cover can be used to seal off the nose.

That's going to be my Pops pet project... He has vertical mill in his garage so he's gonna whittle one out for me :thumbsup.
We're flipping the boat tomorrow so i can get the rest of the paint off of the bottom. After that, I'm going to call Billy B and set up an appt for an estimate for paint. I'm really excited to do that...:D

Boat is flipped. Going to take the paint off of the bottom and then take it for paint estimate...:thumbsup

Hey Jordan,
Thanks for the compliment...it's just taking way too long.
I remember that day. I also saw your post over at PB. That's going to be a fun boat when it gets finished :thumbsup. I'm sure yours will be out on the river way before mine...I'll have to ask ya for a ride cuz I don't see mine getting wet for another year!:grumble: Hope to see you out there soon.

I wish I had that as an excuse. It's just boring stuff...sanding the floors. It may be that I'm being hyper-critical of the work that I'm doing but I just don't know when it's "good enough" to just polish out. It's a super-slow process tho. I bought 25 yards of 400 grit sandpaper to knock down the orange-peel thinking that I'd end up with a lot of left-overs. Now I'm thinkin I may have to order up another 25 yards!! I wanted to hit it with the D/A to just knock it down and then follow up with 1000 grit but the small spot that I tried just didn't work at all. There is so much wax in the clear that they used that its just gummin up the paper every other minute!! I can tell you this tho...when it does get polished, i'm pretty confident it will come out bitchin .

I hear ya. I'm getting that way with the dry wall on the house. Going after every little spot that I see, and then hitting it agaln. I should have bought stock in sanding screens and dry wall mud, oh and recycled all the beer cans myself probably would have taken care of a payment or two.:D

Thanks Steve.
I'm not sure about the river. I'm hoping before June but between my jury duty and Tinas who knows when.

Thanks for the replies. Not bad for the crappy iphone pictures too. the pearl in it came out nice but you can't see it in the pics. As far as using it goes, let's just say that people will have to take a little bit more care when getting into it...but it will be used. I refuse to have a trailer queen.

Thanks again fellers..

I'll post up after it's next upgrades!! :thumbsup

We used to stay there at Marina Village at the Burgess' mobile home...I believe that was their name...we are the Martinez family...had a Charger daycruiser called "The Other Woman"...Boy those were the real river rat days...I wish I still had my orange, Marina Village Market "River Rat" tank-top...remember when the rat skiing on the back of the shirt used to carry a can of Coors...now it's cola...how times have changed...I love your boat...used to sit there at the docs watching all the flattys at sunset thinking life couldn't be any better and you know what I still watch the flattys except now I watch them with my kids...it's like being born again...good-luck with your build!

I know it's been a while since i've posted an update but here's a little tidbit. It's at the shop getting the strut, v-drive and stuffing box rigged. When I get her back I'll post some more pics.
Here are a few pics that my Uncle recently found of her... I am in the passenger seat with my brother. I think I'm either 8 or 9 years old at the time.

Hey Steve,
Schiada is doing all the rigging at their shop in Van Nuys. No plans for any trips as of yet but we'll be trying to get out there for the kids spring break for sure. When is the Needles race?

Sure and lets hope he doesn't take the brackets to scrap yard to cash out to support his beer tab

Anyone know where I can get some of that protective shit that's in it? I'd like I have some more of it.

Thanks Dave! You're the master at rigging boats AND beverages! The tips and insight you gave to me will be extremely helpful. They also gave me some confidence to get in it and get on it to make more progress. I'm sure I'll be bending your ear for more info in the future. Best tidbit I took was the secret sauce with the vodka and 7up!!
Thanks again!

It's been a while since the last update. Still working on it tho. Installed the shaft-log seal (not pictured), turn-fin, and whip-strut and whip-strut clamshell. Everything is in blue tape tho. Next I have to make a blast plate before I can install the rudder box. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359164710.081573.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1359164734.213532.jpg
