Post up a pic if you have one.

Did it have a toolbox or any other items that made it stick out to these POS thieves?

Hope you get it back soon!

Sucks. I had a neighbor who parked his f250 way out in the parking lot of a walmart. Walked in to buy one item. Walmart Video showed the truck was stolen before he made it to the front door.

Curious how these fuckers even steal these modern vehicles which dont even have keys?

No chance you have a phone, tablet or computer in the truck you could track?

I have to think it was towed, repo-man style, using a pickup with a stinger. A car can be hooked up and gone in a minute.

What pron said. Years ago I was at a bar in LB and they stole 5or 6 trucks. Cops said they used tow trucks to get around alarms and kill switches. They found mine in Texas a couple years later intact.

Just talked to Ford as well as my dealer. No Lojack so they can't track it via GPS.

Shit......All the info that damn thing provides and they can't see where it is? Yes they can.....they just don't want to get involved with that type of stuff.

Damn it

Did you have any work done on it recently? Handing over the fob, it would not be hard too "clone" it and they already have your address when you take it there

Wait till that system goes bad and you’re out in Timbuktu and can’t start your truck ...you’ll have to pay again to have it removed and cut / spliced wires repaired .

Sucks to hear your truck got swiped. A lot of stolen stuff has been popping up in East LA, but given your location I'd bet its making its way down south.

Gonna have to agree here, I'd rather not have my truck back if it gets stolen unless I get to recover the contents. Otherwise you can keep it.

Its a corporate truck with the corporate address which is not where it was stolen from.

I think the keys may have been available for the thief....:(

I think maybe the My Ford thing might apply if a vehicle is leased?

If that is the case check your local hills. Tweaker sees keys in it, takes it for a joy ride and drops it in a field. Happens all the time out that way. Used to work in Perris and find stolen cars parked in fields on a weekly basis.

Just so you know.....zero possibility of any kind of legal repo....

Just for the record.....lol

Yeah I didn’t mean to imply it was repo’d [emoji106]

Amazing how quick they can come up with ways to beat technology. Amazing builders can't get something that can't be beat. Amazing that we can't hang 'em like horse thieves in the old days.

Thieves are assholes that need to be beaten prior to long jail times.

Ours was taken down in Long Beach in 2015 figured the same, it would be in Mexico so I went and bought a replacement the same day with lojack:). A week later I got a call from Whittier PD saying they found my car so I had the joy of putting that back together and selling it

It's probably to late to set being you're not next to the truck but maybe give the following directions a try and see? (Keep track of your parked vehicle with Ford Owner), https://owner.ford.com/content/ford...rked-vehicle-with-ford-owner-mobile-app.html/

^ Not sure if that system would also happen to show the truck moving around town, etc..

By chance did the salesman link up a/your phone to the tuck via an app, etc.?

Lots and lots of ford trucks are being stolen here in the IE...I read it near daily it seems.

Is your tuck push button to start? If so then you'll want to read the following and put your key in a RFID fob protector/cover or a tin can like an altoids box,
Keyless entry car theft explained
Keyless entry car fobs or cards work by emitting a signal that the car detects when it's a few feet away, allowing you to unlock the doors and start the engine. Thieves can exploit this wireless technology by getting hold of a relay amplifier and transmitter on the black market, then finding a car parked close enough to its owners house (where the key is).

While one criminal stands by the car with a transmitter, a second walks around the perimeter of the house with the amplifier, and if the key is close enough it will detect its signal and send it to the transmitter. At this point the transmitter effectively becomes the key, allowing the thieves to gain access to the car and even drive it away. The whole process can take just seconds and be completed in virtual silence...+ more info here, https://www.carbuyer.co.uk/tips-and-advice/166001/how-to-avoid-keyless-entry-car-theft

When mine was stolen it was found 3 weeks later in terminal parking at LAX. Was being stashed at the airport but had different plates from a truck stolen in Arizona.

Maybe a better theft deterrent would be a chunk of C-4 under the seat with a remote detonator. 20 minutes after the vehicle is stolen...light that bitch off. Once this happens 40 or 50 times and the news channels pick up on it, I bet thefts (of non-POS vehicles) will slow down considerably.

Do you have an iPhone? If linked to your truck. Go on maps on phone. Mine tells me where my truck is parked at all times

If you have the Ford pass app you can see where the truck is. I have it on my 2017 f150. If you don’t have it you might try downloading it and seeing if it pull the location up. You’ll need the vin.

Side note: it’s a pretty cool app. Start/unlock/lock the truck from anywhere. Tracks maintenance, fuel etc.

That sucks. My dads truck just got Stolen on Saturday in front of his girl friends house in a gated community 10 minutes after he parked it. 2005 2500 GMC Sierra 4x4 lifted. It still hasn’t been located and it has AZ plates so the license plate readers have a harder time picking it up. My dads pissed that it got stolen but now he is upset because he is going to have to get a new truck with a $800 monthly payment. Hopefully the insurance is nice with the value and add ons.

FYI ; having Arizona plates doesn't affect license plate readers they work the best with a reflectorized plates and all newer license plates are reflectorized

the cameras are infrared so they scan about 1000 plates a minute day or night 24 seven. You be shocked at some of the data I get off of the systems.

As to OnStar and his other systems most smart crooks , read tweakers, pull the model immediately that's why you need to have a completely independent battery back up installed system. But in the end even though it's not tracked other than by police lo Jack is a pretty good deal it's battery-powered so unless a strip the entire vehicle are likely not to find it.

I thought the Achilles Heal of Lo-Jack was they just had to stick in a garage or parking structure ? And also no coverage in Mexico ?

Sorry for your loss but maybe humor you with mine. EXT stolen in the front door of the Bellflower Sheriff Station, 9:15 on a Friday morning. Obvious stinger theft, it was an 04 and just thought it was to old no one would want it so on star was inactive. 4 years later still never heard a word on it. The only perk was insurance paid me over retail bb.
