FWIW……….. I am a positive person. I don’t like to dwell on the negative. I never said things are all good. What I did do is point out some positives in a negative thread.

I try to find the good in circumstances and people. I truly enjoy meeting people from all walks of life.

There is a lot of positives in our current economy, if you take the time to look. It’s not all doom and gloom.

A few years ago, gas was around $5 per gallon. Now it’s $3. That’s a huge positive.

Construction is off the charts where I live. The state bird of Florida should be switched to “The Crane” because there is new construction everywhere.

Florida just set a record for tourism. The hotels and restaurants seem to be doing great.

The cruise industry is at an all time high.

I wake up every day with a positive attitude. I refuse to hang out with the doom n gloom crowd. They just bring you down!

One last thing…….. I eat at approx 10 different restaurants a week. Eating out is one of my hobbies……. followed by bar crawling.I just got back home after taking my boat to lunch today. I offset the cost of my $28 Cesar Salad with the cheap tank of boat gas to get there! lol I feel as though I am doing my part in helping local restaurants stay in business.

BTW………. It’s great to be alive!

I wish each and everyone of you the best and hope you can find some positives to dwell on.
I’m all about positivity lol. But it’s $5-6 a gallon here lol.

Your last statement hits hard though. It’s great to be alive!!!!

Generally speaking if you are a boat owner you’d be in the top 5% of the USA.. if you own a Hallett probably top 2%. If you own a DCB / MTI and the like 1%. If you own a new Schiada you are a baller.

I bring lunch to work everyday and I really mean everyday. Wife cooks and always makes extra for me to take to lunch. I’ve been doing that for the past 7 years. I used to go out with other people in the office everyday for lunch and it would cost a fortune back then. Now it’s probably triple the price. Not only that, the food is terrible and so unhealthy. F all that.

Today for lunch, I have eggplant parm. So good.

When I was working I took leftovers to work almost everyday. Usually ended up eating them for mid morning snack then bought lunch. 🤷‍♂️ 😁

As a business owner and a younger guy here….. you’re living in denial lol. De Nile is a river in Egypt.

I’ve got deep 6 figures of equity in a home. And it doesn’t do a damn thing. Thankfully our mortgage is locked in. One day you will look back at this as one of the best investments you ever made in your life. That equity will give you multiple future options. Good job!

And every time I raise my prices customers act like I carved out their liver. Can’t remember the movie reference but it’s there lol. Have you tried this? Sir, I need to double my price. However, since you are such a great customer, I am going to give you a 40% discount, because of your valued loyalty. To me, that sounds better than raising prices 10%.
This thread has become fun! (Read highlights above in red)

I tend to be a worry wart, but I also think that these type of times are when you can make greater impacts.
I don't worry about money, just as I don't worry about being impaled by a unicorn. Both are relatively imaginary. All the money in investments or banks, are really just binary code. In a blink of an eye, we're nothing more than well dressed primates again.

When there is "less", everything is more. Every action you take or don't take makes a bigger impact on your own world, and sometimes others' as well. In bad times, people can throw in the towel, or throw their hat in the ring. Both can change the course of your life. Some people hit the ground, and stay there. Some have just always been there. Others hit the ground, and get back up to try again. It needn't be for wealth or possessions, sometimes it's for a girl, for family, for anything.

Sometimes you need to be thrown down to see a different perspective. When you're down, there's only one direction to go. Small steps are big strides, depends on how you look at it ;)

Per foot of fiberglass I’m not sure you’d find something that costs more.. my Schiada thing was kinda tongue in cheek.

RD
If we are going by price per foot……… Have you seen the price of a custom yacht tender? Every-time I see the price of these unique boats, I think it’s a typo error.

Eclipse cost 700 million to build. That is more than a million per foot. I think it’s around 600’ feet.

RD, I am just having fun.

I see so many baller boats, that it hardly registers with me. There a yacht passing my condo as I type this. lol

Hopefully they are in your favor.

BTW, CA gas prices are the highest in the nation. Higher than even Hawaii! When did that happen?
When Biden became president. Actually down a little. Only $300 to fill up my work truck instead of $400.

Biden is president of both Hawaii and California. I don't buy that. Hawaii has always had the highest in the nation due to their lack of proximity to the mainland. But now, CA is higher. That isn't because of the president.

It’s the governor and the voters. They keep voting to add taxes to the price per gallon of fuel. Then we have some stupid special blend formula within the fuel depending if it’s a summer or winter blend.

It travels downstream to the consumer and so here we are.

CA taxes on fuel. Just happened to go up a lot when he became president. I recall filling up that same truck for $200 and change.

Its actually not bad now after paying 400 a fill up 300 seems like a deal. $200 would be like free.

Let’s look at some of the positives, instead of the negatives?

Stock Market is up from 2020

Gas is almost at an all time low

And for you guys that own Real Estate…….. it has appreciated to historic levels

The sky is not falling. I also believe the glass is half full…….. not empty

Maybe some of you can post some positive thoughts instead of negative ones. Just saying. It’s not all doom and gloom.
Damn you Biden….

What does 8/24 mean.. 8 dollars an hour x24 hrs a day?

wtf is a comfort companion? Is that like a hooker?
Lol, yes $8.00 USD for 24hrs.

Basically yes, although they also cook, clean and do whatever and most will give you a nice hair cut..😄

I think it would be easy to. Plus maintenance, storage and insurance is also in different worlds. Performance boating and yachting use different calculators and bank accounts.

People are complaining about the prices of everything!!. Don't worry about who wins this election like Millions did before and after 2020, these will be like a pleasant dream. Just think about what they have done to this country in 3 1/2 years. You haven't seen anything yet.

"Brandon" kept his campaign promises back then. I am going to "Open The Border" "CHECK"
I am going to shut down the Keystone Oil Pipeline. "CHECK"

But!!

"I Will Unify The Country" "FAIL"

"We Will Find A Cure For Cancer"o_O "FAIL"

Anyone that is Too busy to take the time to "Vote", No Problem. The "DIMs" have plenty of "Illegas" that will take your place.;)

Our economy is benefiting the rich, so I'm doing just fine, but I care more about future generation's ability to prosper in order to maintain this once great nation, so no I can't.

BTW your stock market all time high pom poms come at a price.....................when the Fed is printing money to buy it. It's DESTROYING the dollar and middle to low income families across this country.
The economy is benefiting those who want to work, and make money. Along with making money are sacrifices. Some are not ready to make those sacrifices. 😉

I don’t know about you, but when I work harder and longer to make more money, I expect that to improve my quality of life. That is not what happening in this current economy….

If you own a place to store your toys out of the sun, rain, ice and snow, you are a 10%.

If all your toys are maintained and running, you’re a 5%.

If you build a new boat every year, you’re a 1%

I used to do that when I worked downtown but I got hungry on the train and would eat my lunch on the way into the office and then have to buy lunch anyway.

You can kiss my scarred, broken, redneck, blue collar ass.

The concept that costs are increasing, but wages surpass the rate of inflation, is a false dream spoken of by politicians and their keepers. Anyone who wholeheartedly believes that we are on a blessed path to a financial promised land, is truly nothing more than a fool.

I wasn’t aware most yachts were made of fiberglass? Like I said though it was more of a joke than anything else

My company recently did one of those surveys where they ask one question on “do you feel you are paid well?” It got a net promoter score of like -17 which is insane.

They are now running around trying to figure out how to fix. How about catch our salaries up to inflation? Theres a start!

Don’t worry, there is always Little Caesar’s lol
Or Costco. I ordered 3 pizzas and 2 salads for my Nieces party last weekend. My Buddy was there with his kids and was like your crazy. Just go to Costco. $147 plus tip. Local spot I have gone to for 30 years.
