Just got off the phone with BUDMAN. The boat runs solid after having to tinker with it a couple of times.

He has video of it which I've seen, but now he is trying to figure out how to post the video. He mentioned he was able to post a video of something while we were in Vegas a couple of months ago but admitted he was drunk and doesn't remember how he did it. Lol. I told him to start drinking and maybe he'll figure it out. [emoji106] [emoji482]

Anyways ... Brian, his family, and the Howard will be in Havasu for DS. [emoji41]

That's awesome. Congrats Brian!

Back at the shop for a bit to handle some bills and get some drill bits to raise the fenders for the 14" wheels.

Boat ran flawless after some initial mishaps. I am pleasantly surprised.

Absolutely blows the prop and wants to overspeed the engine, but otherwise it is much faster than I thought it would be. Damn girl would pull a skier no doubt.

I also read that it needed a football field to turn and I was pleasantly surprised how she turned as well.

On the downside, I lost Monday somewhere and when Budman said, "See you tomorrow" I didn't realize it was Tuesday.

I am ass deep in horseshit trying right now to stuff two days of other stuff into a few hours.

See you guys in Havasu. It has been so long. My kids are so excited. I can't wait to show them something that always gave me so much joy.

Very, very happy for you Brian. You are going to make some memories with your family with that boat that your little girl will carry with her for her lifetime...and it doesn't get much better than that.

Brian Carl always told me he had to stop on the river to turn it around..so I ASSumed it needed LOTS of room to get her around..but watching the video shows me you just need to throttle it up a bit and make her bite..Good on ya my friend...Have a blast.

... No clue as to the era of the motor,...but if there's any question about it having hardened valve seats and compression ratio?,...might not be a bad idea throw some avgas,...or lead substitute and octane booster at it???...

Joe wanted to bail. So when peeps pulled up anchors shit went south, quickly. Someone to my starboard side crossed over my bow anchor and when they pulled up it pulled the boat into everyone and made a mess. I couldn't figure out what was happening until it was too late. We were having a hard time with getting Joe's boat untied from ours. I still had the aft anchor set and couldn't power up. By the time I got going we just left. Uncle Carl's Howards blower was never hooked up and had no hoses and didnt work when I did hook it all up. I ran out of time to find a replacement so we are just running with the hatch up at wakeless speeds.

Sorry Brian. Somehow our anchor lines got crossed. The whole line was drifting back and I pulled the anchor to reset and after pulled, boats staring moving a lot and we jus got out of the way. Hope I didn't cause u any problems. [emoji202]

After we got our deal done and you guys underway the shit got real. I think your anchor was keeping our three boats put.

So we had some highs and lows this weekend, no doubt.

Looks like the oil pressure gauge is no good, or the motor is hurt. IMA put in a mechanical gauge in her this weekend, but the pragmatic in me is siding with the later. When I initially drained the oil and there was so little in there compared to the pan size and what was there didn't look good at all, I had a suspicion there might be bad news on the horizon.

The weekend started out with 60psi on the gauge and finished out after 4 days on the water at 55 psi. Could possibly be the pump too, but since it isn't a Mopar, the pan has to come off anyway. So I'll get a look at the internals, probably put seats in the heads too.

She got through the weekend with no problems and I am grateful for that, but no sense in running her until something fails. Right now the hard parts are 100% fixable.

Yep, it might be better to deal with it now before nothing is usable. Hope it's minor.:thumbsup

Your concerned with 55 lbs of oil psi?

The whole story is the issue.

I drained less than 5 quarts, out of a 10-12 quart pan, and the oil that was in there was thick, old, and dirty.

Yes, I'm concerned with 55psi max. When she starts at 60psi and goes down slowly in 4 days, I think that is a warning.

Those single wire pressure gauges are not always accurate with changing voltages, that is why high end senders use a 3-wire transducer style that send a voltage division signal, not just a varying resistance like a single wire. It's like the difference between a potentiometer and a rheostat.

a 5psi difference on one of those gauges is negligible imo and i wouldn't be too concerned

Let's hope so Racey Mcracerson.

She will have a mechanical gauge this weekend anyway.

Are you running an oil cooler? What oil? 5lb variance with an electric gauge wouldn't concern me.

No oil cooler.

Not 5lbs of variance in the day, 5 lbs of gradual loss from Thursday to Sunday.

You might be onto something here. I did consider it being the gauge, I did notice the amp meter didn't move either and I never checked to see if the alternator worked or not. It was a thrash and I didn't have time to go over all the things I wanted to check, but with brand new dual batteries I figured even the alternator didn't work, I would be good. I was able to slip it all weekend and I brought a charger as a precaution.
