That's behind our office, He was calling his office about not having a big enough ladder. I got him the roof key and let him down. I have been in his shoes before

And the controls...

Those are old school control boards tied into a new Emerson E2 controller. A lot of fun trying to figure out which component of the 2 systems went out. Specially when there is thousands and thousands of dollars of product on the line.

E2 upgrade with leaving all the old Comtrol boards... Wait till a board fails, that will be fun pulling new comm wires!

Ya. This is pretty common for how Kroger likes to do their control "upgrades"

Get a call from a board member and his in laws AC isn't working. Brian and his son head on over to check it out. At least the back drop isn't bad to look at.

This should be a test of skills, drink all day then fix an AC in Parker. Good thing I've done this a few times

Out doing an inspection for a client. That's buying a rental property.

Home inspector calls out a few items not to code. So we need to inspect and quote to fix so he can get it thrown into escrow.

I have never seen so much hack work in one place. Lol.

It's a complete tear out.

Even Coto de Caza's shit needs air conditioning, that's all stainless steel ductwork at a sewage wastewater plant.

About a month ago I get a call from a customer that wants us to do some warranty repairs on the equipment he purchased last year. I pushed him back on to his installing contractor and then he calls back this week. Says I couple of guys who didn't speak good English looked at it and said they can't fix it and the boss man would call him later. He told me they have been sweating there asses off and now the company wouldn't call him back. There are some really fucked up AC companies out there and I felt bad for this guy. He has two kids under three and an angry mama. He agreed to pay us and deal with the other contractor later. We ended up finding a refrigerant leak on a weld they did that they then patched into the drywall. We fix the leak and got him up and running. So the home owner gives me his invoice from the installation and it becomes apparent why the guy stopped coming back. He didn't charge enough for the install. I don't think I have seen that low of a price in some time. It also turns out the guy doesn't have a contractors license. I told the home owner to contact the California State License board and he will probably get a refund. His entire system won't pass the states efficiency requirements and it was a waste getting the 16 SEER system because it runs like a 10 SEER

I run into things like this doing commercial HVAC and building automation. Some people make it manual and some go over automated.

If this guy would've crushed all of his cans he would've fit them in his car with two trashbags instead it's full to the top and sides with these open soda cans

That has to be the work of the building engineer.

Why are they lining exposed duct?
If it's serving a different area but want to maintain the look of the exposed metal? Or something beneath that they are paranoid about condensation forming and dripping onto (I've heard that one before from clients). I'm kinda hoping they have scoops on the inside of those Tee's or they aren't going to work worth a shit.

Insulation will prevent condensation in/on the duct. If the ducting is sized properly there should not be any problem with air flow. Looks good to me..

Condensation can happen but usually only the first 10' to 20' is lined then its bare from then on out. If it goes into a concealed area then you would wrap it...this to me looks to be wide open hence the question. the only other thing I could think of is noise. I agree that those Tees should have extractors on them.

Oh ya, I completely agree. I just mean some clients are kinda unrealistic about that kinda stuff. When I was working for my dad and we did Mercedes of Valencia there was a very large section on the 2nd floor that was open ceiling (about 4,000 sq.ft ) and ALL the mains were lined for the reasons I mentioned. If the customer wants to pay for it..... lol!
