Throttles all but done just need a throttle bracket but I'm holding off till I buy a prop.
I'm hoping the bracket will fit with that tow point there.

Moved the fuel filter down because it was in the road of the coolant lines near the thermostat housing there.
I've doubled up the fuel filter bracket as a lower mount for the recovery bottle. Looks a bit agricultural but should look OK with a lick of paint.

2/3 of the way through the cooling.
Need to get some more 3/4" copper didn't quite have enough.

Going to have the strainer up the front in the bilge make it easy to clean out.
Going to have a hose attachment so I can flush it's out.
I've got some heater hose on order so everywhere it goes from hull to engine it's got a bit of give and not too ridged. IMAG1330.jpg IMAG1335.jpg IMAG1336.jpg IMAG1337.jpg IMAG1339.jpg IMAG1340.jpg

Got the front 2 seats bolted down. The passenger side originally had this hinge arrangement but it's dodgy as and the seat wobbles around a bit.
Might have to think about it because it would be handy to keep it hinged. IMAG1329.jpg

I should be seeing the logs in the post by the end of the week.
I'll start looking into tips soon and whether I need snails or use those drop piped that's on them.

But I'll wait till I get the steering sorted before I start drilling holes in the transom.

This is the 4th set of exhausts I've bought for this boat, not having a good run 😃. Should have kept the originals. Screenshot_20170406-075323.png

You guys use that soldered copper pipe much in boat down there? I'd think it'd be prone to failure with all the movement that comes with a speedboat?? Just wondering is all, looking good!

What size prop do I need? Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I got a real vague answer of a guy in towns supplier.

"its really best they advise what pitch they really need --- 22-24-26p.
We have a testset -- 26p so retail $1050US includes all thrust washer hardware kit.
Once we know what pitch they need we can make offer including solas 4 blade front 3 blade rear $1240US a set inc hardware.
My experience is USA big wakeboats specific for water sports like the Solas 4 blade front 3 blade rear as social boats can have 6 adults and a few kids so a lot of weight and low speed planning ability all important.
We offer 5 year warranty on the rubber bush with solas S/S 75hp and larger.
Propeller exchange programme still applies"

There's a cheap 28p prop on ebay but I'm unsure if it's oversize. Screenshot_20170420-213109.jpg

If what above is true a larger wakeboat would take a ~26p. The drive is a 1-2.2 so it's going to pull like a tractor.

I'm sending the steering ram and a couple other things out monday. The rest I have to clean and flush the oil out of thoroughly so they don't get held up anywhere for having the clap.

Yeah nothings been easy.
There is a bit of room there to drop the exhaust before they go through the transom.

Ive been having issues finding a 26p bravo 3 prop set. Theyre all 22p or 28p.

Ive read a few guys with bigger boat having success with 28p.
I want to buy the prop asap so i can budget for other stuff.

Jimmy, any idear what your boat weighs?
With my alpha, and a 1.81 ratio gearing I was able to turn 27 and 28 pitches without much trouble. It's really like comparing apples to rocks when talking alpha to B3.

You and I have roughly similar hp, but it also depends on what height you installed your drive at, deadrise, quantity and lenght of strakes.

I'd hate to tell you to buy something and it didn't work out.

Is there anyone down there that will let you borrow a set to try, just to get a baseline?

I'm guessing 3500 pounds.

The local shop said he'll do it but it'll cost $1200US to do it. I can get 2 prop sets for that and still have change.

Im leaning towards giving a 28p a go first and moving up/down from there.

Im looking at buying a set off a guy in Maitland Florida, he sell it because hes over propped with a...
2008 cobalt 302 w twin mercruiser 377 a 2.0 ratio.
Theres also a set in Melbourne but im still hearing back on price.

I was at my prop shop getting my stuff tuned and remembered you had a prop question... I got the below info, you can contact this guy in AU who can help give you advice, tell them Ron the prop manufacturer gave you his email.

I emailed ya buddy steve and the edited version is.

"26P lead prop with large shaft and 28P rear propeller.
The concept is the rear prop should always be higher pitch then aft prop in 3 blade combinations for best efficiency.
Awesome if you have big power to weight ratio or require low speed planning ability 26/28 combo would be best for pure top end on a small set up"

So I'm thinking get the 28p set to get her running and then wait for a cheap 26p set to mix and match with the 28p or have as a spare.

Can't you just start close then have one or both props re-pitched, or cupped, or thinned, or or or ?

If i start with a 28p and later when one comes up get a 26p set, ill be in front $$ and have a spare prop set.
And i can toy around with combinations.
Im not keen on buying a brand new set when near new is half the price.

Alrighty.....I think I got this.. I need to dig through some crap and see about another crank pulley to send just in case. Your going to have to make another bushing for the tiller arm pin but that's easy.

Thats a little harder than it looks
Once i put some hair around, the drive practically fell in.

Though a battery in all the electrics work I'll fill the trim pump up tomorrow and tidy up the bottom of that leg. 20170507_150146.jpg

Fuels all plumbed up just need 1x -06 hose fitting and replace the fuel filter.

Had to spin the carby around to get the throttle bracket to work how it should.

All the heater hose turned up today, still waiting on some 5/16 for the filler bottles. 20170508_122508.jpg 20170508_122525.jpg 20170508_162232.jpg

No, you have an old outboard pump. One thing if you don't have the newer pump with the plastic reservoir it is going to be slower than shit. I mean you might as well get out of the boat and do it your fucking self.
Runs like a dream

Was making some awful noises when I was bleeding it. Had to top the reservoir up a few times

Today wasnt all good, I sheered one of the 1/4" studs off the intake manifold.
I was going to put longer ones in to get enought thread to bolt the throttle bracket down.
So I'm debating on drilling it out, maybe using a easy-out or helicoil it. 20170508_155537.jpg

Heat that corner up good and it'll probably back right out. Don't bother with that type of drive support, see if you can find the plastic clips that fit on the trim rams. All that is going to happen with that is you'll beat the shit out of the gimbal ring

Good idea on the heat[emoji106]

How do u stop the drive flopping side to side? Chock it of with a load binder so it wont run?

Easy out would be the best in my opinion. When replacing the exhaust riser gaskets the heads of each bolt snapped off on the old tahiti

Tape the intake first.

Then like everyone else said, heat the corner and use a left handed drill bit to slowly back that summa bitch out :thumbsup
