A summertime visit to Wisconsin sounds great. Fall here is perfect for boating.
4 horsemen poker run is june 7th and 8th. I plan on participating as a Marshall boat. It'd be a good weekend to see some decent hardware.
I have room in the boat for 2. :D

Thanks bud, I'd way rather visit on an off weekend & enjoy the normal time. I'm ALL about laying down miles, not sitting & blabbing.

Can the cup holder opening and speaker be moved aft on this side panel?

Yep. Theres room to move it back. You could mount the speaker higher, but you'll be cutting into the glass behind it.

I used your old interior panel and roughed out interior panels. Question? Did you permanently screw down your rear seat bottom?

I did. I built a new one, and just used a couple wood screws through the floor.
My new bench seat has a bottom though.

Need to find a clear anodized rigging tube fitting for the smaller verado style.
Anyone have a decent source?

I do not want to use the black plastic one on the transom end.

Also need to sort out what I'm going to use for tab switches. I may mount them on the outside of the shifter console I'm making. I need to see what kind of clearance is needed on the back of the switches...

Kinda thinking the Dana style for switches. I need to see what the dimensions are.

Shit is getting real now with that big white beauty. I can't wait to see how this badass ride turns out.

How about 2 small push buttons mounted on the steering wheel for tabs? You probably won’t need them that often. I like the blinker lever for the motor trim. Your past experience in running the boat should dictate what works for you.

Going to use the paddle style for trim and jack plate.

When you get into your rigging parts can you post a list of harnesses and items that are Verado specific?

Spent a few hours getting the first layer clearanced properly. I need at least a fingertip gap all the way around. Once that was done, I had to transfer the angle change where it fits up under the deck. The other transom just ended at the rub rail height. This new one will extend until the two planes of angles meet.
Next step is to epoxy the 3 layers of plywood together. I dont feel like running a scissors today. Got a thirst for a bloody mary. ;)

Hula is anti brace. He marches to the beat of a different drum on that philosophy.
I've seen evidence first hand that knees are huge pressure points. Stress cracks at the intersection. It's hard enough to tab that joint together without complicating it by adding more angles.
There were tiny knees in this boat from the factory. It had stress cracks on the inside.

Boat weighs less than half of me.....

What a blast! Tops out at at least 15 mph, which is sketchy as fuck in this Reynolds wrap boat!!!

Late September & October are usually AMAZING here weather wise. Got an open bedroom but u will need auxiliary liver & the ability to tolerate hundreds of miles on the water each day........

I'll need an address to ship the stunt liver in advance. When the box arrives, just toss it in the freezer or shop fridge. Dont open it... ;)

My first boat was a 12’ aluminum Pioneer with a 5hp Elgin motor. It had about 3” of tar in the bottom of the boat and no trailer. I bought it out of the Marquette County Tribune classifieds for $50 when I was 12 years old. Absolute shit box, but it was the most fun a 12 year old could have growing up in rural Wisconsin

Just a thought I had after driving past a neighbors dock. How hard is the lake bottom where you live? Around here we have issues with boat lifts/docks that sit on the bottom sinking into the mud and not hitting a solid bottom. My neighbor can only pull his boat up 3/4th's of the way out of the water because the lake bottom can't handle the weight.

In the channel in front of the house it's kinda mucky, but hard sand below it. I'm sure itll take some effort to get the lift set correctly, but it can be done. It's hard sand bottom beyond the reeds on the lake side of the island too.

I'll take a week off and be a weekday boating whore all day everyday. Maybe you should park the 'Lil Hobo right there at the Porthole.

My moms place up in Boulder Junction has that same condition (muck then sand). Pier has 3x3 steel plates now to keep dock from sinking, boat lift has 6x6 plates - so f’n glad those don’t have to be pulled out each year

I'm in for a weekday Delta adventure. I'll drag the junk down from Oregon and put some miles on!
You are welcome to drag your ride down or just jump in with 1 of us.
Back to Hula, when you sammich those pieces together do you put weights or something on top to help them cure or seal together?
