I dont have huge pieces of cardboard so. I'll use reference marks and transfer that to plywood.
I have the pumps, and have a line on a set of real deal k planes.I assume 2 pumps are for tabs? Why not go with lencos?

You going to allow for drainage in them?Tabbed in with 1 layer each of csm and 1808 View attachment 719376
The corners at the bottom are clipped, and wrapped with csm.You going to allow for drainage in them?
yea, the helm position was not in a good location. not centered on the seat, and too high. maybe the guy that cut it in was 7' tall?Is the circle you are holding in with clamp the original helm location? If so does it line up with center of seating position in its new location?
What steering helm is in the boat? I see it has a splined hub most are 3/4" taper with a key way.
One of the things I immediately wanted to change upon driving the boat was the position of the front seats. It felt like you sat "on" the boat, vs sitting "in" it. That's why I built the new bases. They're reclined a touch, and an inch lower. Wind will be over my head now, instead of hitting me in the forehead. View attachment 651219 View attachment 651220
Yea, they had wood screws holding aluminium angle to the floor, and the holes in the angle were tapped 1/4-20 to hold the bases to the angle.Did you happen to catch a manufacturer of the fiberglass seat base? Are they open in the front? what held them in aluminum angle?

No label at all on the bases. Exactly the same ones that were in my baja, so it's a stock or bought item. The were not open anywhere. All 4 sides closed.
Eh. It ain't that big of a deal. Drill press and a trim router... you can make 'em...I cant seem to find a manufacturer that makes anything similar, I dont think I will be building my own Billet bases!
Just wood.Where's your dust mask?
That and none of his power tools are made for “southpaws”. WTFLong term it'll still do damage. Don't ask me how I know.

I'll reach out to a boat builder buddy of mine next week and see if he can point us in the right direction.
Got your new bracket mounted yet?
What speakers did you go with? 7.7? or 8.8?

Can you post a part number for the 3m tape? Trying to round up everything to put some accent lighting in my boat, I might use my truck as a test case to see how many leds to use.The 3M tape works really well. Specially when you use the primer for it. I used that combo a lot when I worked at a trailer Fab shop. The aluminum itself would actually tear before the adhesive failed. It was that crazy good.

I'd have to do some research to figure out which ones (if there are different ones) that we used to use. I will say that with the primer and that tape, you'd actually tear the aluminum sheeting before sperating the tape. Can you post a part number for the 3m tape? Kinda sad that I haven't had time to work on this project for a while.
Also a little disturbing that I'm starting to see weird things. View attachment 733514
Why does my ball mount look like the front of a sporty lower?
I need to get this project wrapped up.
It's not just you. Before I even finished reading your caption I thought "that hitch looks kinda funny with that nose cone on it!" Lol!Kinda sad that I haven't had time to work on this project for a while.

Does this apply to Oregon people? I have a job in El Dorado, and Natomas I need to visit!Ok Hula, u fly out & run SF Bay with me & F14. We will fly back there & run the waters back there with U. Sooner the better out here, summertime in Bay is rough.
Yep, let me know. We boat EVERY weekend, rain or shine. Delta Lunch Bunch slogan is: any weather is boating weather. Make it happen, let's go.Does this apply to Oregon people? I have a job in El Dorado, and Natomas I need to visit!
If I had the time, I'd be all over it. Hula too needs a transom, and i don't know how long ill be able to take having a new 400 on the stand vs the back of the boat. You can come here first though. Ill take you up on your offer after the weather turns back to SHIT here.Ok Hula, u fly out & run SF Bay with me & F14. We will fly back there & run the waters back there with U. A summertime visit to Wisconsin sounds great. Fall here is perfect for boating. If I had the time, I'd be all over it.
