Great game so far. This is what college football is all about.

Also the USC game isn't a cake walk. ND is 4-7 but all their losses have been 8 points or less. Put that in your stat file IROC. :)

I'd venture to say that any big rivalry game like this is never a sure thing. Games like this always bring a whole other level of competitiveness and energy. These kids play with more heart in these games.

Pretty close game in Colorado. Wonder if UW wants another piece of SC.....or if they'd rather face Colorado. I think they have a better shot of a playoff spot if they face Colorado. :D I don't think UW is a top 4 team imo anyways. :D

Watching this Colorado/Utah game is horrible!! These teams stink!! The way Colorado has been playing the last month, they don't even deserve to be in the top 10.

Colorado is not that bad. I think they can beat UW.

Is this your way of saying you don't know shit about the ND / USC rivalry or how the Pac 12 south will be decided. :smackhead

Here's a link about the rivalry so you know.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notre_Dame–USC_football_rivalry

BTW. USC beat UW at home. USC beat #9 Colarado. #9 Colorado beat Wash. State. UW beat Wash. State. And you use words like inferior, undeserving, creme of the crop....I came to the conclusion that you ONLY follow UW football and NOT COLLEGE football. :rolleyes

To be honest, I follow college football when it matters to the PNW. UW hit a rock bottom that was so frigging low that it wasn't fathomable. The coach (*Tyrone Willngham and ADs drove it there). Slick Rick came in and made a splash, but even long time UW fans knew it would end the way it did, but they were grasping at straws. Sark was a breathe of fresh air, until he drank his way off the campus. When they lured coach Peterson away from Boise it was widely regarding as the best choice, Peterson now has the program and level of talent he always strived for at Boise ST.

Yea, I never paid much attention to teams outside the PNW, especially Notre Dame. USC is always the target in the PAC 8 - 12 because of the recruiting grounds. USC SHOULD dominate every year in the PAC. But they don't. Lots of arrogance from USC posters in this thread, my take / point is that USC isn't the only dog in this race and UW fans expect the same results year in and out as USC fans. USC played well today ( yea, I watched most of the game) but they didn't play to that standard all year. I just came in from putting up X mas lights and see that Colorado took out Utah. That sucks, I wanted to see a rematch of USC and UW for all the marbles.

Rereading your post above before I call it a night, I chose my words carefully, as it was in response to other posts. UW is going to take out Colorado and play in the national championship playoffs. Go back and look at my responces and tell me where I have been off base with what I said would happen. The UW has a great team this year. The PAC 12 South division is soft, but the north?, not so much. This dialogue will continue for years to come as UW looks to be back on track. USC looks like a more than equal revival, next year.

Enjoy the Alamo bowl, we can pick this up again next year. GO Dawgs!

I'm glad Colorado won. It's always good to see an underdog pull it off. Now I wish ASU would contact Charlie Strong to replace Graham.

So Colorado could be representing the Pac 12 in the Rose Bowl ... win or lose to UW ...... so I hope you're right!!

Its my understanding that the Rose Bowl is obligated to take the Pac 12 champion or the highest ranked Pac 12 team that isn't in the top 4. Anybody know it differently.?

That is how I read it in the L A Times this morning. Should USC leapfrog over Colorado in the rankings at season end (which could happen if Washington beats Colorado in PAC 12 title game), the Rose Bowl Committee is open to choose USC.

Pac 12 champion unless in the playoff ...then the Rose Bowl will take the next best team from that conference. All I could find, not real clear

Here is some fun facts for you to compare the North vs South. Overall record North 41-31...South 39-33...Conference North 29-25...South 25-29. Top 25 teams as of last weeks rankings..North 1 South 3....I would say its pretty even. :)

Ohio St. is in a strange position because they're ranked higher than WIS & Penn St. yet OSU isn't playing for their conference championship. Michigan could've made it a lot easier on the committee yesterday & had their chances, but blew it. I feel like Clemson would give Alabama the biggest test in a title game.

Imo opinion...you shouldn't make the playoffs if you don't go to your championship game. Happened a couple of years ago with Bama too. Not cool when other teams have to play a 13th that WILL affect their ranking. Same thing for the Big 12....they don't have a championship game.

Yep. The championship game can cost you. no doubt.

This is going to be a nightmare for the committee and I cant wait. Pac 12 possibly not getting a team in my result in a scud missile to the voting room.

The whole of the situation will never change until a workable playoff system is constructed. This season is a prime example of how parity effects results. Outside of Alabama, there is no team with an outright advantage by their record. OSU and MI faced a very strong conference schedule of teams capable of winning against most anyone. The PAC 12 is the same.

The bowls still run the money show and will not allow a fair and balanced playoff to work unless forced into it. No way is there a clear/fair top 3 and 4 this year.

I wonder who nd will play in the rock bottom bowl this year?
as far as the huskies go , my guess is they will justify leaving them out . East coast bias is real .:grumble:

I completely agree with these. The whole championship playoff should be reworked to a more typical playoff style. The champion from each D1A conference should go into a single elimination bracket. There are 11 conferences though so maybe make it a 8 team bracket and combine a couple of the smaller conferences into 3 spots to allow the power 5 conferences champion straight to a bracket spot.

This would eliminate the committee biases and just about any debate on who should and shouldn't be in the playoffs.

Lower divisions have playoffs with, I believe, 28 teams in D2. It can be done and past time to be done. It's the bowls that seem to be the catch. They don't want to take the loss in revenue caused by losing specific dates and teams is what I think is the issue.

A true National tournament would be big money for networks and NCAA in general, but not for many of the bowls.

Couple of knuckleheads got arrested from Colorado after winning the game against Utah - fighting in the bar and having cocane in his pocket.

Arrested! Boom.

We need Colorado to lose...Big..:skull

Why? So we can listen to IrocDave babble on about how UW has built a dynasty after only one season of success. Lol
UDUB D winning the game right now. Liufau definitely not 100%. Him being out has totally affected the game. :thumbsdown

No because SC can go to the Rose Bowl if they are ranked higher then Colorado if UW goes to the playoffs.

UW isn't a going to be a dynasty but they did look good tonight.

I would think SC will get it with the head to head win over Colorado.
UW did play good. Good enough to beat Bama? I don't know. Possible, but I don't think so. They won't be able to run the ball against Bama like they did tonight. Jake BrowNing will need to.play the game of his life. If the D performs like tonight, they can slow down Bama enough but Jake will have to respond.

The Rose Bowl chairman has already said they are going by the rankings this year even though they have the right to take who they feel is the better team. Hopefully the committee considers the wins over Colorado and UW.

Clearly SC is the better team. We'll see how far Colorado drops.

No babbling or rubbing posters previous comments in their nose HOOTER. Anyone interested in that can go back and read the time line and see who got it right in predictions in this thread. UW dominated this game even with subpar QB play from Browning. UW wont have a shot at being competitive versus Bama if Browning doesn't perform better than he did tonight. Bama has great O and D lines, similar to USC, only better. The play at the line of scrimmage will be the difference maker. I don't think Bama has the playmakers on either side to match up with UW, but they have the lineman that can be the difference.
