Out of an 18" barrel these are much quieter than an air rifle. I've gotten them to properly cycle through my 16" .22 AR. A .22 40grn projectile @ 700fps is much better than .177 8-9grn projectile even at twice the velocity. The trajectory is also much more predictable.
