The offset on the wheels is completely different, yet the tires are in the same place. Cannot be the same the chassis... Also, as Jeremy (Top Gear BBC) would say, the big American marker lights are a clear give-away.
One more thing... I assume it's cheaper to register there, and perhaps insurance would be less. Those are the main reasons. I am only starting to research everything though.
