Guess I won't buy that Skater after all :(

Just an FYI I’d wager you are close to 50’ with your boat!

My 21 behind my truck is 46’ish feet? I can barely back it into my 51’ deep garage with the freezer behind it.

I’d bet my 270 behind my truck is over the 50’ and that isn’t that big of a boat.

Since they apply fee at their discrepancy. If we watch a know boat that clearly exceeds 50 ft and they let them through, but charge next boater, can they claim that they are being targeted unfairly? I hate the rules do not always apply for everyone everytime. Especially in a govt capacity.

I get it. But 50 feet is over 80% of the boats in Havasu. Literally the park in Havasu exists to let boats onto the water.

At $10 extra per entry, plus the annual $200, people will just head to the marina instead, sending more funding away from state parks.

Completely agree,

Government always screws things up and does stupid things regardless of who is in charge.

Sure, you can file a suit in District Court and after your spend 20 or 30 grand the Park Department lawyer, who will be paid for by all of us as they will be someone from the AG's office, will tell the judge they have implemented a zero tolerance policy to make sure everyone who is one inch over 50 feet pays so that there is no unfair treatment........ :(

Then you get to declare victory. :)

A lot of conversations online I stick to the people are over reacting and nobody cares type thought process. They are just talking on the keyboard type stuff.

This isn’t one of them. Two people I know are already looking into the nautical timeshare deal, and my thought process is “great I spent 200 bucks on a pass to spend another 200+ just to launch now”. I’ll be going to the marina.

I figured that I would just kindly address the issue with park ranger at gate and ask I get same treatment as car ahead. Not looking to make a stink. My boat bitches can pay the fee.

I agree. This does not even affect me, but I see how dumb of a policy stance it is.

Maybe the AZ park people don't care, as they think they will then get you when you beach at 3 dunes or the channel, other state park areas if you do not buy the State Park pass and use the Marina.

The last time at 3 dunes (Desert Storm), I got an odd sales pitch from the ranger saying that when my pass expires to buy my pass from him, because where I buy my pass, the money goes directly to that park. To which I said, "Sure, but are you going to credit me the $20 I spent at Windsor to launch my boat that day, because I can easily buy a pass when I enter the park there?"

You can imagine how the rest of that conversation went.

They were rude when I went in Thursday of desert storm. They started demanding $10 bucks and I was totally taken back.

I asked if they sell a pass for oversize so I don’t have to bring $10 bucks every time to the ramp. They said no. Then they asked for $3 for the 5th person.

I tried to explain to them 2 people were staying with the truck and trailer and not even parking. They were just dropping us in the water and leaving with the truck and trailer. They didn’t seem to care. The “new ranger” came out of the office and started saying all the rules are going to be enforced moving forward.

Don’t have the 50 foot issue. This past Saturday around 10- one of the rangers was outside the station to check IDS and count for people. Then told the ranger at the station which vehicles to charge and which to let go since the line was backing up. Lowered the back windows of the suburban, and they made a joke if someone was hiding in the boat, we laughed and kept moving.

You 270 is certainly over. I did the approximate math on my F150 and my 23 foot boat, and I have less than a foot to spare with the drive up.

The boat on the trailer with the drive up is just under 30 feet. I put the drive down in my 30 foot garage. My F150 is a crew cab with the 5.5 foot bed and it is 19.3 inches long. Then add ~6 inches for the hitch draw bar. I think if I got the 6.5 foot bed crew cab (same size as a 3/4 ton truck), I would have been over 50 feet long.

I will say this. In all the years I used the state parks for launching the Rangers at Windsor have always been waaaaaay more rude than any others I have entered.
A high and mighty attitude that shows through even when they aren't scolding you for something.

I will be over, 27 foot boat and crew cab long bed. We split between Cat tail and Windsor depending on where we are boating that day. Most of the time we get questioned at cat tail about amount of people but Desert storm weekend they just waved us through with a smile.

My crew cab long bed f150 with the 23' chapparal deck is going to be close too, I think if they measure to the end of the swimstep I'll be over. Which makes no sense because that length isn't what will be parked.

I disagree with the 4 person limit.
The last two times we went we took an extra vehicle with the pass
Now you have another vehicle taking up space for nothing other than bringing in more people
And there are limited number of single vehicle parking spots so you take up a trailer spot and tick everyone off

Since everyone is paying extra for the big boats...Folks with the big boats should smuggle extra people in under the deck of the boat

If they measure to the drive it's going to be real close .. My longbed double cab is 21' from bumper to ball ..

We've been known to smuggle people in the mid-cabin of my FIL boat.

Went through Saturday and Sunday. Sunday an armed ranger checked ID's and reminded us to make sure we write another name on our pass in Sharpie. He said people steal them with one name, then just add their name to the pass.

We are probably right about 50'. Didn't say anything about length.

It would be great if they could do something about all the rental pontoon boaters trying to drive 'their' pontoon boats onto the trailer behind the white vans...

my father in law and I launched at Windsor last year, we had a tube filled up on the back of the boat to pull the kids. The lady asked how many people do we have in our group. She was going to charge me for the rest of my family that was already in the channel waiting for us to pick them up. Did not get charged told her to prove it. Havasu is slowly turning into this money pit Ca. Get ready...

That doesn’t sound right? Not saying I don’t believe you but that would be highly unusual.

Strangely I have never had a bad experience wkth the rangers at Windsor (or any of the state parks for that matter?).

That said I don’t know where this 50’ rule came from and from asking around it isn’t happening at other parks, which makes me question where it came from at all?

That’s why I asked where is the LHMA in all this? Isn’t the whole point of that deal to improve boating in a Havasu and be a liaison between the boaters and these groups?

You can have mine for free, it is $250 to get it changed over to your name. I forget what the annual dues are, it has 1 week at the Nautical every year.

I always think the folks at the check in are pretty personable. The $3 for over 4 has always been in place, rarely enforced though. I just wish they had a line for annual pass holders versus the RV check ins, the RV's take some time to check in and it backs everything up.

For as many times as we launch a year, the pass is still a great value. We launch at least every other weekend, and thats being conservative.....at 26 times a year, even if they hit you with the $10 over size charge it comes out to $17 a launch. 26 is being conservative, especially if you launch three times on a long weekend, etc., the number will be much higher, so the $17 comes down even further.

so they are now saying you must pay $10 extra for the boat launch but never said anything to us prior to buying the $200 pass. That my friends is bait and switch. Illegal last time i checked. Especially when they should have measured the boat upon issuing my pass. Looks like ill be getting in a fight with these people real soon.

Didn't say I had a bad experience. They were just not nearly as friendly as other places plus they have this aura about them that says "fuck you".:p:D

I never got that until Spring Break this year when I forgot my hang tag. They acted like they did me a favor letting me into the park, and I had to pay the next day, as they hole punched my smaller pass.

Don’t worry folks, you can buy an annual Pirates boat parking pass for $200. It includes use of the trash cans.

Tow rig plus trailer - last weekend they started to flag and charge $10 plus including annual pass holders. They have lines painted next to the guard shack. It was pretty hit or miss but still kind of messed up. New ranger in town from what I hear. This could pretty much affect most of us. A 25 ft pontoon on a trailer with a crew cab is over 50 feet. o_O
So the tow vehicle and the trailer can't be lo get than 50 ft?

Glad I left the area. No such shit here in ky

Say WHAT???
Yeap honest to god truth, the lady ranger wanted to know how many people would be in the boat because she knew I would have more people because of the inner tube. I could not believe my ears.

My truck and my boat with the outdrives up is 64 feet. So I'm over big time. With the outdrives down, I'm still over 60 foot

Looking at the Havasu Landing marina. Half the cost but have to take the casino boat

I never thought about the landing. Not a bad idea.

Traveling to the other side of the lake to get to your boat so you don’t have to launch?

Seems kinda crazy?
Yes kinda crazy
But getting a slip for our toon at the havasu marina is going to be slim to none.
Plus it's only $1400 annual at the casino vs $2400 and a $250 non refundable deposit at havasu.
$2 to ride the casino boat.
Be nice not to deal with launching during things like desert storm, july 4 fireworks etc and the wife can perform her magic at the poker machines

Better than not having a slip. The casino boat runs every hour, so not that bad IMO. I would definitely stay on the list at the LHC though.

You guys should look into nautical timeshares. They have big plans 20 years in the making. I bet rack storage is on the list [emoji23][emoji6]

I actually did speak to Sheryl at the Nautical timeshare yesterday. The only thing that worries me about this is they increase annually up to 10%, which when I asked her she said it has averaged $25.00 a year increase. You can do annual or bi-annual. Here is the information she emailed to me.

Below, please find general information about First Cabin Club and vacation ownership. More information is available at www.firstcabinclub.com.

*First Cabin Club (FCC) is a vacation ownership property. Owners have purchased an annual or biennial week consisting of seven (7) nights from Friday-Friday, for annual or every other year use. Ownership expires in the year of 2059.

*All FCC units are one (1) bedrooms, up to 4 occupancy, kitchenettes (no conventional oven, a 2 burner cook top is provided), non smoking with no pets or BBQ’s permitted. Our building is 3 levels, 10 units each. Our lowest level is referred to as ‘beach’ and some owners specifically purchase the beach level. The other levels are considered ‘view’ and are the parking level and top level. The top level requires use of 17 stairs to access the unit (no elevators). Owners can place a request for a any level and/or unit. Requests are subject to availability and are satisfied in the order they were received.

*FCC has 3 seasons of ownership, Prime, Flex and Sport. Please refer to the usage chart I have attached which outlines what weeks are available for use each season, subject to availability. Note that owners are limited to seasonal use only when using their week here at FCC. When exchanging (travelling to another resort), the week can be used any week of the year through the desired exchange company, subject to availability. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance of your desired check in date. See below for further information regarding our exchange company affiliates.

*The current annual dues are $726 for annual owners and $363 for biennial owners (amount subject to change up to 10% annually). These are due January 1st of each year. A quarterly payment plan is available. Dues must be current at the time of any reservation or benefit request.

*FCC owners are offered discount rates for a condo rental at FCC. This program is called Bonus Time. For this program, a two night minimum is required. The nightly rates are $75 plus tax and increases to $85 plus tax from Memorial Day-Labor Day. Reservations can be requested 21 days or less from your desired check in date, subject to availability. Owners are entitled to seven (7) nights of Bonus Time per quarter. Biennial owners are entitled to Bonus Time use in the opposite year of their ownership. This program has been designed for use by FCC owners and immediate family only and is offered year round. Please note that Bonus Time reservations are more challenging to obtain during high season, June-August, and during special events and holidays. Rates are subject to change without notice.

*Daily housekeeping is not provided. When using your owner week, you receive one service, mid week. When using the Bonus Time program, you do not receive housekeeping service unless you stay 5 or more consecutive nights. When exchanging, the housekeeping policy will vary by resort.

*When staying off property, FCC owners are currently entitled to use the boat launch free of charge on our host property, Nautical Beachfront Resort. Please note we are limited to 20 passes per day. A day use pass can be reserved from 7 days-24 hours in advance from the first date you wish to launch, subject to availability. This pass is for day use only, thus, the vehicle and watercraft/trailer must be removed each day. This pass does not entitle FCC owners to beach use. Anytime you are staying on property, you are entitled to launch one (1) watercraft and beach access for the duration of your stay.

*Nautical Beachfront Resort offers FCC owners a 10% discount in the Turtle Grill and Bar, the Boutique (general store) and Nautical Sport's Center (watercraft rentals). Subject to change without notice.

There are several exchange companies we work with. In addition to Interval International (our primary exchange company), below are other companies you can exchange with.

I spoke to Windsor Park yesterday and the actual footage is 55'. This policy started back in January and they are starting to police it more since DS. They are only going to police it when it is noticeably larger as she put it like the "BIG" DS boats. We have an F250 and a Trifecta toon/trailer and we haven't been hassled and have launched several times since the new policy came into effect. I said we are residents and have been using that launch ramp since we moved her. She assured me we would fall into the not being charged category because we are not noticeably big. According to RD and WMC we are over the 55'.

They are not going to be like that. If it is noticeably larger than they are going to charge an extra $10.

My and many other’s gripe is with what was promised. Over 10 years ago there was plans for onsite storage with courtesy docks at the ramp.

It was sold that you could keep your boat there and it would be fueled and launched waiting for you on the dock when you arrived (like the future rack storage [emoji6]). There were other improvements that were to take place as well.

You were also supposed to be able to use the cove with a flash of your membership card. That lasted maybe a year.

All that being said it’s the easiest launching program. A long line is 4 boats. It’s dusty but if you drive slow it’s not terrible. We wash the boat everyday so doesn’t bug us.

You can transfer your week to a different resort if you want. I think most do.

Plus you get 10% off the store etc. @RiverDave I’m sure you already get a deal on your houseboat rental. But if not seems like a timeshare would pay for itself in that alone.

Plus there’s no cops on the property [emoji1303]

At $10 a boat, it's going to take a while to save up enough.;)
