I'm guessing they decided it's entirely reasonable to hold up repairs on critical infrastructure so the correct bid documents specifying the exact percentages of involvement by minority and women owed contractors can be determined, along with other DEI considerations.

Ordered a new weather station and put it up on Monday. Took the other one apart and yes, one of the bearings seized. We looked to see if you could buy new bearings and it turns out you can order a new cap that has new bearings, shaft and cups for 25 bucks. Wife called her parents to see if they wanted it and they said yes so we ordered the new piece and it will be here on Friday.

We got our last one in 2017, we noticed a couple years ago that the gusts didn't match what the weather station was saying, after 40+ years living in a Santa Ana wind area you get a pretty good idea of what the gusts are. The station was reading about 10mph off.

Also never heard a peep more about the Mountain Fire that started in Camarillo back in November....was it arson, or was it power lines.... or???? We're lucky, we have a little casita, so it works out well for them. Well as good as it could be, they lost a little historic house in Altadena, and most of their belongings, including 1 car.
