High-rise Oceanview to Gilbert is going to be a major change..no oceanfront property in AZ no matter what the song says. Still happy for you guys CAL-EXITOUS is on our short list too
It was a fun run while my daughter was a baby because we had all the amenities in the building, but in those two years I cant believe how much worse it got.

Meeting my neighbors this morning, every single one has come to to say hi and ask I need help. Its such a crazy change from what I am used to!

Congrats on the decision! I left 7 years ago and it took several months to get used to living in a free state.

I'm down the road from you in San Tan, if you need anything, shoot me a pm.

I like it there, used to live in Casa Grande as a kid. One of my kids lives there, and me and a couple buddies have a newer commercial property in Gilbert as well. Some mormons keeping it clean cut America mixed in the hood too it seems. Congrats !

Iโ€™m a Callie native, born and raised. Sadly the Lefties ruined what was once the greatest state in the Nation. We escaped Commiefornia in 2018 and moved to Utah. Utah is a great state with some quirks, but Iโ€™d pick it over AZ. St. George is more like AZ in the summer, still cool in winter. Growing like crazy but like AZ, water is an issue. We moved to way North Idaho 2021. Beautiful country, lots of lakes. Water is definitely not an issue here. Youโ€™ll be shocked when you realize how many ways you are no longer taxed. Lots of ex Californians here, probably 30-40%. Below is a pic of the billboard coming into town. Good luck on the move!

UPDATE: I kind of wanted to list my money savings so far since being here a few weeks now for anyone thinking of the move.

1: Obvious Fuel savings, I must be on track to save an EASY 400-500 a month at this point.

2: Car Insurance: Moved my insurance to AZ, went from 2800 a year with GEICO, perfect record, two cars to 1400 a year with State Farm local agent here in Gilbert. WTF!

3: DMV. Well, a little sticker shock today, was hoping that it was cheaper then California, but wasnt by much. On my 23 Bronco, 683 to register with a $17 donation to the Vets. Cali was 725 ish, so not a whole lot there. Not complaining.

Ill keep updating as I go. But so far, so awesome!

How's it going so far?
Its great and loving it so far! I forgot how friendly people are. Isnt that sad? Even today in the DMV, everybody was chatting in line!

Felt great. And every day something small happens that tells me I did the right thing!

Oh and for my w2 employer, my benefits changed for the better health Insurance wise. Little cheaper, less deductible, and better iptions

FWIW my 2002 F250 was $325+ to register in California and was going up every year. This year in Az I paid $20 to register it. Last year was $28.

Congrats to you and the family @gqchris !

The desert will grow on you, itโ€™s such a magical place. The summers are brutal and take a while to get acclimated but itโ€™s not that bad. Hopefully you already have a loaded .45 in your center console, that was my favorite part about living there.

Keep posting updates, I love it! ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿป

Appreciate ya! Yea I grew up in Vegas, so I feel back "home" with the Desert part of it.

I already had my CCW, so the loaded friend was always a part of my equation, but I am so glad I don't have to hop thru those hoops again to renew!

don't tempt me. if I live long enough, I will be there one day.

for me, today's hi is 45F. about average. it used to be OK, but now it hurts. I stand in front of the fireplace, so close and for so long my clothes start steaming or smoking or????? I have to make sure I do not have a phone or lighter in my pocket(s).

have been in AZ when Temps were 110+ and I loved it. I was out side all of the time. rode a motorcycle from WI to get there.
