Pretty sure this has been brought up before.
I was watching a FB reel regarding such and most of the comments alluded to most, at least the younger crowd, don’t carry cash.
I use card almost everywhere except fast food and a few other places but I don’t ever have less than a couple hundred bucks on me.

Always.

And it's getting harder to use it.

No place seems to have any change when I pay for something.

So I'm getting better at having small bills to counter this.

My dad worked in NYC when I was a kid and he was told to always carry some cash in case he got held up less he piss of the crook.

Cash eliminates the fear of getting your credit card cloned and gets you a discount more times than I can remember.

Sadly it is going away.

I'm waiting for the day I pull out my wad and the cashier rolls their eyes and says "OK boomer" lol.

Grocery store auto checkout is the cash breaking hack of the modern day. I can't count how many times I've bought a pack of gum or a red bull with a hundo.

Yep. I used a fitty to buy a few things at Ralphs today, no eye rolling from the machine... but it's picky at times about the bill quality.

Always carry some cash. I’ve found of all the places that only accept cards only golf courses are the worst offenders. I don’t really want to have to give the cart gals my credit card Every time I want a drink.

This is great to know!👍

I’ve been turned away from a few fast food joints. Either don’t take larger than $20 bills or can’t make change from the hundo.

Even if I pay for a meal with a card at a sit down joint I prefer to tip in cash.

Carry cash? Not for years, I don’t even carry a wallet anymore. I use my watch (Apple Pay) to pay for everything and I get 2% back on everything.

Usually under $100. No reason to carry more

Same. But I hardly Ever use it.

How are you supposed to get all that free money (cash back) if you don't use a CC!

Free money is GOOD!!! 👍🏼

Usually 1000 ish.
summer boating, winter dunes, something always breaks. Cash gets attention or discounts
plus there’s the hey go get the guys lunch, or we need ….. and just hand it out like the candy man lol

I will say discounts are few and far between w cash anymore. Everyone wants to record sale. Like ya this 3000 sell is going to make or break your budget this year. Your P+L will look dismal with out this being recorded, your imaginary buyer will not be interested in your company with out it. Or you love taxes so much it seems insulting to of asked. Lmao

Always, plenty, and plenty stashed. Call me a paranoid boomer, don’t care. There’s sometimes I want to stay under the wire, and when the electronics go down, INDEFINITELY, I’ll still be able to get stuff for a decent period of time

I always have a 2 dollar bill in my wallet. Other than that. Never have cash. Don’t really need it these days.
I always have a $2 bill also. But have cash on
Hand as well. I have cash stashed in every vehicle and the boat. It'd always nice finding a thousand you forgot about

I had a college professor that said to always carry a 💯 bill. In case someone tries to rob you. You have something to hand them to make them happy. Empty pockets they might just shoot you.

Easier to fill up fuel also. Always a limit of 100-150$ at the pump. So swiping multiple times suck.

I keep $100 in my wallet tucked away out of sight. It's just emergency cash and I never use it.

Usually somewhere between $25 & $75. I don’t spend it much though. It’ll usually hang out in the wallet for weeks at a time.

two thousand dollars cash always.

I have paid cash to get tires repaired on my service truck when the shop was closing but I was able to bribe one of the guys to stay and get me fixed. Gave him a $100 spot and was thankful to do it.

I have bought so many things over the years because I had the cash in my pocket from people who needed the money right now.
The best one was a Colt Python for $500 came with the box, original receipt and the box of ammo he bought at the same time and never fired it.

I live in Missouri. Cash is still king around here.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can't pass this one up..... I had zero use for cash till moving to Baja.... now I need it constantly but its tricky cause if ya get pulled over the corrupt police actually have you show them your wallet [or so I'm told] .... so local Gringos in fancy vehicles with US plates hide cash in socks, and in secret stashes under carpet etc..... always keep a $20 somewhere just as a cost of doing biz if they get aggressive. So far not an issue cause Fernando is a beater that doesn't draw attention.
