Cool thread Doug. I always enjoy looking at the boats you pull around.:thumbsup

Is the M35 the biggest boat you've pulled long distance?

No. The 38' Baja pictured at the bottom of my posts is the biggest. I have also pulled 2 38' Fountians and a 38' Donzi. The Baja went from Costa Mesa Ca. to Houston Tx.

Well, back on the road again. Horizon Motorsports here in Havasu needed this Sand Car delivered to the Horizon store in Sterling Co.. We loaded it up in this really nice enclosed trailer because I brought back a 4 dr Tyrex, a Scooter, a Big Ass Bar B Que, and some stuff from Preston's house in Co. No snow on the road, but there was snow on the ground from St. George Ut., all the way to Sterling and back. It was -9 in Grand Junction when I stopped for fuel. That cold actually hurts.

Doug, do you carry several different ball mounts or do you use an adjustable to fit different height trailers?

There are two used ones for sale with that Merc.700/nxt pkg for 379K, but I never saw the boat on the first page listed for sale.

DCB traded for it and sold it before they ever listed it.

I have a couple different ball mounts. The one I use most is a fixed 2 5/8", seems to be the right height for most of the bigger stuff. I also have a billett adjustable that gets used for most 2" balls and some of the smaller 2 5/8' stuff.

I met a very nice guy from Wisconsin, on his way to Florida in Lake Charles LA., delivering his 28' Magic deckboat. Tony at magic has been trying to get this delivery coordinated for about 2 months. We finally got it handled.

28 magic.jpg

Pulled this Mastercraft out of the Islander Storage, and took it to California Skiier in Lake Elsinore for service. This boat has a hydraulic tower. Customer wanted it lowered for transport. It was sort of complicated trying to figure out where to attach braces once it was down. The bimini had to be semi-disassembled, it was interesting at best. Next time it will be a breeze.

I got a call from Mike Bosso at Sun Country Marine. He needs 8 used boats moved from the Ontario store to the Havasu store. So I happily made a deal and off I go. What a great sunrise we had this morning. Picked up this little Omega I/O open bow, the first of 8.

That's alot of driving in the last 4 days Doug, enjoy your day off.:thumbsup

Not really compared to what I usually do. My wife and I were talking, and it is actually harder on me to go back and forth to SoCal everyday, than just blast off to Florida and back. I like eating and sleeping at home, but that getting up early everyday to make it to a certian place, at a certian time, seems to just kick my ass. We are going to catch a movie and some dinner, should be peaceful.

#5 is a pretty nice Cobalt. This is a 1999 and for the age is very clean. Three more to go, possibly 1 additional to total 9. Yeah I know trailer looks too small. But what was I supposed to do? It towed OK, it just seems to be too small.

Here is the entry for today, #6. A 19' Chaparrel. Nothing special, just a nice little boat. Had a friggen trailer tire blow out today. The lug nuts were so rusted I could not get them off. Had to call AAA and get help. I was pissed. Dude showed up in about 15 minutes and off I went. Sun Country is really ramping up for the boat show. They always seem to have the biggest booth.

Very cool Doug.... Sorry if this has been asked before, but I see you're not towing with a Dually.. Do you prefer 4 wheels over 6? :thumbsup

I have never had a dually. My perfect truck would be a 3/4 ton dually x-tra cab

Boat #7, an 18' Chaparrel. Looks to be pretty clean. Good first boat for someone. They added 2 more boats to total 10. 10 trips to SoCal in 2 weeks; thats keeping busy.

sun country 7.jpg

I pulled this fantastic Howard out of storage to take to Howard Boats. Gene is going to use it for the Boat Show. One of my top 3 all time favorites. It makes my truck look good.

Doug that 28 Howard is awesome, I love the colors.:thumbsup

What are your other 2 favorite boats, all time? I'm thinking maybe that M31 from Oklahoma might be one of them?:hmm

Yes, that M-31 is about as perfect as you can get. IMO. If I could buy whatever I wanted, it would be a 36' Skater w/1350s. I would really like to see 200 mph just for shits and giggles.

Got the Howard dropped off and Gene showed me all the stuff they are working on. After the boat show I will have 3 boats to be delivered in Havasu. They are working on their second fully capped boat. They both look really good. And they are working on a boat for stock. A nice white with red and silver deck boat. Off to Sun Country to pick up #8. A really nice Bennington 2875 with a 350 and Bravo 3 set up. Those things really catch alot of wind when towing, Damn.

Here is #9, a "new" bennington 25' 'toon. Don't know much about it, but it sure pulled easier than yesterdays, unwrapped 28 footer.

Sorry Doug if I missed it earlier, but is that a 7.3 diesel, or a gasser? I'm enjoying seeing the boats and your travels.

Woohoo!!! #10 delivered to Sun Country Marine. That was a good couple of weeks. All the salesmen have my info, may even have a tow from one of them to Idaho. They will be a good contact, they sell alot of boats. I did not even know that 19' bass boat was behind my truck. Those are the good kind to tow. This Skeeter TX-190 is another new boat just transfered from Ontario to LHC.

Do you finally get to sit and take a breather. Recover from the LA traffic.

Yeah, I get a 2 day break then back to San Bernardino for Horizon Motorsports. I deliver a Teryx and trailer, then over to Fontana to pick up a boat to bring back to Havasu.

Ran this Tyrex to Grand Terrace for a custom cage for Horizon Motorsports. Picked up this pink cage for Horizon Motorsports. Preston is building one for (wait for it...) some girl. I guess the plastics are going to be black. Might turn out to look pretty cool. The shop in Grand Terrace is called Str8 up Motorsports. Guy looked like he did really nice work. Mentioned he had alot of AZ customers. Then over to Manhiem Auctions in Fontana to pick up this little Bass Tracker for HMS. Preston is keeping me busy.

Howard Custom Boats, gotta love them. They just keep building and selling boats. This one I picked up yesterday for AZ delivery. I think it is going to live here in Havasu. Old style but still very clean and timeless.

Dropped this very nice Eliminator off at GT Performance for Horizon Motorsports. Preston sold it to a guy in Colorado and it needed to be set up for altitude.

GT Eliminator.jpg

After sitting around most of February waiting for the weather to break long enough to get to Rochester NY, I delivered this 27' Cobra to a guy who will boat on the Finger Lakes in Northwestern New York. This guy even built a barn on his property just for his boat. The customer wanted to protect the front of the boat and trailer from rocks and road damage during the trip so Jeff, at Cobra Boats did this fantastic shrink wrap job. We were not sure how it would hold up, but it worked great. Actually got a little better mileage.

Cobra NY.jpg

Headed down to Richland MO to pick up this really cool Playcraft for Horizon Motorsports. It seems that they are now a Playcraft dealer. They folks at Playcraft are among the nicest I have ever encountered in my travels. I will probably be doing some work for them as they are always looking for someone to pull just one boat. Most of their stuff is transported by big rig, but the onesies sometimes sit for a while. Hope it works out, like I said,"they are really nice peeps."

Playcraft 1.jpg

Playcraft 2.jpg

This Playcraft has been sold and I believe it will spend its life here in Havasu. It sure looks like one hell of a party for the whole family.

Been by Playcraft HQ many times, wish I could buy one. Is Hwy 7 in Richland still a terrible road? Last time I was on it it was full of pot holes. I always try to avoid it especially when towing.

I do it solo. My wife has a job. She would not be the best traveling partner. She needs to get out and stretch every hour whenever we go anywhere. I would never get to any of my destinations. HAHAHA

Dont know about Hwy 7, I went in on MO 133 off of I-40. That road was pretty smooth except going over a couple of bridges.

Picked up this beauty at Cobra in Montclair. Dropped off ay Prestige in Havasu. This boat was just sold. It was a closed deck and Cobra opened it up. It is a beautiful boat, and a great job on the open bow. This beast has rocking a Teague 800 and is reported to tickle 120 mph.

This is one bad-ass F-32 right here. I got to DCB and Tony was waiting for me to head to the lake with him. He needed to test some of the modifications that they made to this boat. It's running the Merc 700/NXT packages. The electronics have been tweeked by Dustin at Whipple. and they added water pickups off the bottom of the transom. This beast runs like a stripped-assed ape. We took it to El Capitan Resivior just up the hill from El Cajon. Anyone who knows this little fishing hole, knows how small it is. Tony run it up the lake once, check everything out. Water pressure was the main concern, all is good. Second trip up this little lake this boat snapped 140 mph effortlessly. AMAZING. This boat was as tame at 140 as it was at 40. I told tony to never let my wife in a DCB ever. He chuckled and asked why. I told him there are not enough boats to tow in the whole country for me to get into one of these beautys. I really don't want to become a male escort. Bottom line, this boat is fantastic. Put it away in storage right next to the orange M-35, what a beautiful sight. I hated to close the door.
