You don't realize how big those guys are until you stand next to them. There was a group of 5 of us trying to win an autographed basketball. I didn't win but I got a jersey and a great memory and I am not even a Basketball fan.

Snapped a driveline in half in a prostreet Nova a 130mph, half of it came up where the back seat would have been and ripped out all the tin work. Not a sound you want to hear at speed or one I'll ever forget. Got real lucky the track locator kept the driveline from hitting the ground and catapaulting the car, could have been real ugly.

Some of the things you guys posted are really great, so I'll chime in with some of mine:

Got an autographed basketball from Jerry West, and actually played basketball with it until you couldn't see the autograph anymore (I got it when I was 10)...

Was on the Newlywed game with my first wife and we won the grand prize...

While working in the sheetmetal and machining industry got to make some parts for the ballistic firing station of the Trident submarine. Way cool to see a finished firing station, and I'd tell you about it, but I'd have to kill you...

While working in the computer industry I got to work on a project where we developed and manufactured the laser sighting computer for the Bradley fighting vehicle...

And lastly, while in college I worked for the physical plant, specifically in the electrical department. One of my jobs was to go through the dorms during Christmas break to change out light bulbs, ballasts, broken light switches, wall plates, well you get the picture. When in the A&I dorms, I entered a room where between the 2 closets they had a full on pot growing, drying, and packaging system! Grow lights, water jugs, timer system...the whole works! So I decided that I needed all of that weed more than they did, and took it for my private consumption for the next 6 months....arty:

Raced Five Pro MX races in 1978. Won a whopping $35. My last raced was a Golden State series with a $5k purse. All the BIg boys showed up (Darrell Shultz, Goat Brecker, Lance Moorewood etc), I finished 12th out of 40, but was lapped on the 4th lapped, about 12 minutes into a 45 minute moto. Decided roofing was so terrible.

Played Peeble Beach, chipped in for BIrdie on 17th at same location where Watson made history, said my caddie.

Married going on 28 years, met my honey, she was 12 y/o, been together for 35 years.

Not quite. Date wanted to go shooting. We took some LEGAL firearms out to a piece of private property in Orange County. Well, someone called the cops with reports of automatic weapons firing. Cops detained both of us and searched the truck. When they came back, they asked us where the machine guns were. We said that they found everything that we had and all were registered. They let us go with an apology. :champagne:
