I was stoked to find a manual, but after driving it and looking up the options, I have looks like it might be better off with an automatic

Either way, I'll take the bait. I like the Blazer and would rather have that but for this year I settled with a FireBoard 2. I have one on my smoker and will use this for my Prime Rib on Christmas Day in the oven as well as on the BBQ this summer. No thermometer is better at connectivity both bluetooth and wifi, these things rock!
