Daughter's boyfriend went on a bike ride and stumbled across a super small garage sell and picked up all four Kiss solo records in great shape for $20 total.

Surprised he'd even know who they are/were?

Haven’t done offer up but might have to look into it.
You interested in brokering for me?
Got too much to do in two months to worry about a few bucks for old CD’s.
You should sell them locally, Facebook marketplace too.

That's why you should sell them in a lot only.... Homey the Clown ain't got time fo' dat!

He left the good shit behind. LOL.
Yup.

Over the summer wifeys co-worker told us to come get some vinyl she had. I walked into her garage and there on her washer was Kiss Destroyer. I was like woot, woot.

Then the friend took the Kiss record out of the mix, saying her brother wanted it.

I was left with Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett and the Partridge Family. You know, all the stuff Napa listened to in college :p

My classic KISS collection.
I remember when my dad bought the Alive 8 track. I was about 5 and we were in the station wagon. My dad put it on. I’m shaking my head and sticking my tongue out while it’s playing. He looks over at me and says “You like this shit?” 😂

This is a new release of a 1970 concert by Creedence that can also be seen on YT, or the documentary on Netflix. Great concert.

My uncle will handing over my pops Creedence records the next time I see him. Can't wait.

This one came on my streaming satellite while I was fixing dinner. Loud in the headphones now.

Some Neil Diamond. In memory of dad.
Im still surprised how I know every song.
It is funny how those songs of our youth are so embedded in our memories. Motown, The Beach Boys, the soft rock of the 70’s for me.

And fn Barry Manilow. 😖

So one of the genre's I never post up is freestyle/disco. I dig it. A lot. lol

That's the reason I got back into vinyl - I wanted to start mixing/beat matching 12" singles...just like I did back in the day. I bought a couple of Stanton turntables and a Numark mixer...but then I decided to rebuild my original Onkyo system from 1988 and added a new Pioneer DJ table (better quality table than the Stanton's). I still have a complete mobile DJ setup that is loud AF, but it's also big and loud...as in PA type loud. No finesse, just in your face power.

Anyway, today I received my first few freestyle records.

Rock Master Scott - The Roof is on Fire - If you went a backyard keg party in the 80's - you know this song! The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire - we don't need no water let the mutha fucka burn; burn mutha fucka...burn. This copy shows it's age and sounds like crap lol. To be expected because like I said - it was a party staple.

Flirts - New Toy - Yes! They were an 80's new Wave band that churned out some monster disco/club hits. Finally, after all these years of listening to the CD/streaming version played at regular speed, I can play it properly with the tempo/beat pitched up +2. Also kinda rough, but I like it.

Hazell Dean - Searchin' - A classic high energy dance club hit that sounds great, pretty stoked.

Trinere - This chick was the Taylor Swift of the dance/club scene. Awesome record, two hits - How Can We be Wrong/Can't Get Enough.

Klymaxx - Meeting in the Ladies Room and Men All Pause.. just wow, mint condition record that is mixed/recorded onto vinyl really good (even the streaming/CD versions sound great) and it's like this is what my system has been waiting for. Just awesome and brought a smile to my face. I can't wait to make the Numark EQ light up red!

Sounds like a blast. Me and my pals were too concerned with AC/DC and the like in the 90’s to even think about punk…ish.
I’d like to think I could be a lot more subjective now to different types of music.

Speaking of Suicidal, last night my daughter's 17-year old friend (our neighbor) sent this over.

She tagged along at the OC Punk in the Park gig, and she jumped in several pits..fearless.

Me too. I didn't start listening to punk (and not too heavily) until about the mid 90's. After I was done with my disco days. :D🤟

My daughter grabbed a couple of Siouxsie records off the neighbor's wall. All things considered...not too bad!

She inherited them from her mother. Right on.

I started getting into it around the mid 80s. My cousins have been in a band in the OC since the late 70s so I got a taste of this when I was pretty young.

What is on the B side? I had too many days listening to Siouxsie smoking pot with my friends on my street.

Admittedly, wifey is a bigger Foo fan than myself.

But of course, nothing like http!

Thus the "greatest hits" set instead of collecting their complete vinyl catalog; she wanted it for Xmas.

BUT, I still remember picking up my buddy in Perris for a day trip to Lake Perris in our brand new 95' Hallett 210.

Buddy handed me a CD and said "Listen to this shit".

And we were blown away. Foo Fighters/Foo Fighters
