because wake surfing is easy.
Needs his back hand down quite a bit lower. Attach a bridle to a doorknob or other stationary object and work on that with him. Keeping the pull down lower accomplishes a few things, easier on the back and less likely to get pulled over the front, particularly if he is planning on racing.
I had a pair similar to the Kidders (blue). the people that I pulled that had no interest in learning to slalom said they were the best at getting up on and skiing. Are any of these worth recycling? Trying to get my youngest daughter and wife to ski.
Thank you!I had a pair similar to the Kidders (blue). the people that I pulled that had no interest in learning to slalom said they were the best at getting up on and skiing.

You're welcome, they were my moms and my sisters favoritesThank you!
If you guys are ever in Parker, bring him by so I can see him ski. One of the more important things that will help is constantly crossing back and forth across the wake so he can get more aggressive and start jumping it. I've always used about a 60' line unless the boat wake dictates a longer line.Thank you! He does want to race.
Do you squat with you legs/feet in-line one in front of the other as they are when skiing?"skier squats"
Thanks for the tips! We are staying at the Springs the last weekend in September to watch the races. Hoping we can talk to some people while we are there. If you guys are ever in Parker, bring him by so I can see him ski. Just recently one of my skiers who I used to pull at the races brought me along while we pulled his son for a ride. He also wants to race, apparently has only skied wrapped about 10 times, so I explained the bridle on the doorknob and having him do "skier squats" while he watches TV. His dad was one of my faster skiers, not many of my team could hang on flat out behind my turbocharged Schiada.
Yes, absolutely. It will help you build the same muscles and basically the same balance point as skiing.Do you squat with you legs/feet in-line one in front of the other as they are when skiing?
Thx. Tried ‘em in the hallway and had to use the walls a time or two to balance myself, will keep after it.Yes, absolutely. It will help you build the same muscles and basically the same balance point as skiing.
That is using a bridle, right? A lot of water skiing is using the rope effectively to control your balance. I've been skiing wrapped for maybe 33 years, give or take, and a lot of what I do is without consciously thinking about it, for example, using my front hand to help initiate slalom type turns while skiing. A more obvious use of the front hand is to control or take up slack in the line.Thx. Tried ‘em in the hallway and had to use the walls a time or two to balance myself, will keep after it.
Ahh, the skier squats were with the bridle hooked up to the doorknob. Didn’t catch that and was doing them freestanding/untethered.That is using a bridle, right? Whoa!Matt Rini’s Waterski School on Instagram: "@zanemacklin had his first day of slalom today! He had a blast and is waaaay hooked! This went better than Whit and I thought it would! For those wondering that is a 66” Vapor I cut down to a 58” ski and it
