Nice yacht master! I always liked the originals.

My buddy owns a jewelry store in Ventura. went to high school with him. He takes care of us. Good guy, fantastic family.

I told him I donā€™t want to just drop all
The cash on the bluey. So, doing like a lay away thing. Heā€™ll
Hold it for me. Iā€™ll
Drop Off a couple grand a month. I just canā€™t mentally part with that much cash at once. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ my inner Scrooge comes out. Just feels better chipping at it. šŸ˜

Nice to have a friend like that. I have an original Yachtmaster 40 as well. Charlie Sheen wears one in Two & a Half Men
if you ever watch those reruns. I didn't like the Yachtmaster II's when they first came out, but they have grown on me over the years and I was told Rolex discontinued them in April.

The all gold Blueys are pretty cool too

Nice line up!!

I sold most my high end watches. Now only have the explorer 2 and Iā€™ll grab the bluey. Each son will get a Rolex when I die. We already bought our daughter the diamond bezel date just for her 30th. So all kids will get one. I suppose if my buddy gets a stainless white faced Daytona Iā€™d grab it from him. But other than that, Iā€™m out.

The yachmaster 2 isnā€™t my favorite and I donā€™t think they sold super well. I donā€™t mind them, just others Iā€™d take prior, like another GMT2. I enjoyed that watch. Sold it though.

yachmaster2 dont sell well due to the size. Its a 44mm. Most people want the smaller size. YM2 wears well if you have a large wrist.

Yep, I have gorilla forearms. I wanted a stainless/white Daytona, but they look like a ladies watch on me. Even though the earlier ones were 40mm, they look way smaller than my Submariner. I put a Daytona on at the Rolex store in South Coast Plaza and the sales guy told me it didn't look right. Hence the Yachtmaster II.

Yep. This is the reason itā€™s not my favorite. I had a couple breitling Bentleys (44m). A blue face and a white face. (Sold them on here actually). Little too big for me. I like a decent sized face but 44 is too big. 39/40 is my size. šŸ˜šŸ‘

Yep those are cool too. They are prob the thickest watch I've seen. You almost look like Flava-flave rocking one of those on your wrist.
You can get them used pretty close to retail price too.

LOL, those Bentleys looked huge when they first came out. Like watches went from 40mm straight to 44mm. I thought they were even bigger than that, because all my friends that got them were like horse jockey sized 5'4" 125 lbs or so it seemed. And they hit them on everything they walked by. šŸ¤£

I have wristed the Platona. Insanely heavy.

For 100k, I would go " next level " and pick up a Rolex GMT SARU. Off catalog ultra heavy hitter !

This is my goal. lol. Iā€™d wear one at work every day if I could. Itā€™ll be my retirement gift to myself though Iā€™m sure.

I have a steinhart homage, and I love the Squale homage watches, but someday Iā€™ll get me a stainless Sub date. šŸ˜

For now itā€™s a refurbished Apple Watch Ultra 1. šŸ˜‚

Rolex saves that color of dial for platinum watches. Try one on, crazy heavy.
Well, that figures!!! I'd be scared to try one of those on.

Think they would build a Submariner dial in ice blue if I asked them nicely? JK!!!!

Squale has probably the most un-recognized street cred in the game for dive watches. They were the case maker for several of the big companies way back when. They were the ones that figured it all out. Hell, they even made cases for Blancpain and Doxa who were "THE" names in professional dive watches. I need 41mm at bare minimum for my wrist size and I hate 4 o'clock crowns, or I would totally have a Squale or two.

If you like heavy, there have been some watches with tungsten carbide cases that have been offered over the years.

While itā€™s far from a top-tier brand, I considered this one from Lum Tec a while back, just because of the relative uniqueness of it.

There are some other watches that have cases made from F1 materials, Boeing alloys (before they went to shit LOL) and even submarine steel that I think can be pretty cool also.

One of the "Patriot" variants if I remember correctly. Even available gem set pave dial a well. Not my scene, I don't like when they lose their functionality to gems, these and Daytonas. I will however continue to lust over the Meteorite dial white gold versions :) Full functionality AND precious metal.

You grab a SARU when you have everything you want in the catalogue and you have an affinity for Rolex Pepsi's. I agree about the Meteorite GMT. It truly is incredible and is the best frivolous purchase I have ever made.

Different years were yellow gold. I in particular would like a yellow gold without the diamond lugs.

This reference in particular :
Yes, I have seen the yellow gold one before and like it better as well

I've never been a gold watch guy, but kind of like the idea of pairing one with a nato strap.

I wear my Explorer 2 every single day. Never take it off. I don't get....Whatever that shit is....All over it but it gets banged into things on the regular. Unhooking the trailer yesterday and my kid dropped the hitch pin and it hits the glass of my watch. I freaked out a little. May have dropped an F bomb. But the thing took it like a champ. No issues.

I'm picking up a GMTII Pepsi later this week .....Hopefully ..... ;)
I'll post it once it's in my hands

If you are getting it at retail, congrats, and I will beat everyone to the punch and say I too will take it off your hands at retail if you choose to move on šŸ˜‰

In all seriousness though, enjoy it however you are acquiring, and its THE Rolex in my mind, and the only one I want these days, and cannot get.

Thank you sir. I've been watching them (no pun intended) all year and finally found one from 2022 that looks unworn for a little under 20. Reputable dealer I have purchased from before. I know it's still WAY over retail, but like you, I've been looking for one for a while, it's the only one I currently want and have had a good year, so this is my reward.

Definitely, I myself have been resetting my "threshold" around that number as longs as its the new movement, the 126710 reference. I have definitely decided I will not buy a bunch of what I don't want to get given chance to buy what I do, with the discounts on other brands I get, the amount saved there is more than switching all my business to the Rolex AD and overpaying for brands that discount, all in the hope of one day being "allowed" to buy what I want. Stupid, crazy, hobby/industry. :)

That's awesome. When I bought my steel Pepsi it also came on Oyster. I was fortunate because I got a Jubilee bracelet for it as well in that very small and limited window Rolex allowed them to be ordered.

I like the jubilee bracelet as well on that watch. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Welcome the newest member of the family. I have been wanting this one for about a year now and decided to treat myself. 41mm Tudor Black Bay with the burgundy bezel, changes colors well in the light, camera not getting it quite right. Excellent specs, and with the five link ā€œjubileeā€ bracelet, finally on the fly adjustment, and no faux rivets thank god. Bezel action is nice, so is winding. Great feel, great movement, and the machining/polishing greatly improved with this generation. MM thinner too, may not sound like a lot, but very noticeable, and some nice trickery to get rid of the slab sided effect they were known for.

Flying back from Istanbul, there was a family of 5 sitting in front of us, speaking Turkish maybe? And English. Obviously anmericanised. Older gentleman, two adult males on their lates 20ā€™s early 30ā€™s and two females in their late 20ā€™s. I walked past one of the guys and noticed a very nice two tone Daytona. Then I walked past the older gentleman a while later and saw he was wearing a bluesy. I stopped and said, love your watch, I just picked one up. He perks up, oh yeah, I like your explorer. Where do you get your watches? I say buddy in Ventura he says oh, I just got him this one and he taps his (maybe son) who smiles real big and shows me a rose gold chocolate sub. Drooooool. I was like duuuuuude. He was pumped up, like yeah yeah yeah right? Cool people. We talked watches for a bit. I said where did you get yours, over seas or in the states and he said, like I should know, not in a dick way but matter of factly, ā€œoh, in Beverly Hills.ā€ Struck me kinda funny. I was thinking like, these people are some type of reality stars or something. Did a little digging. It was the family from shahs of sunset reality show. Never seen it but my sil watched it all the time. lol. Nice people. The dad was super cool.

I bought one of these a while ago. Itā€™s pretty. No scratches. It sits in a locked box for now. Probably one of my fav models but not ready to let it get hammered on. I have a Daytona but they feel more feminine to me for some reason when I have it on compared to a sub so it gets little use

Have the same in the 40mm model from 2016 or so. I use to wear it all the time. Need to do it more.
