El Jefe Grande sent me this in talking about the 747-8
Never seen that color before...friggin awesome
World Timer doing what its supposed to do, and although I love my Omega "WorldTimer", its really a GMT WorldTimer. Being able to select your secondary time zone at the bottom is the gangsta high horology shitGotta love JLC, the will always deserver more credit than they ever get. I don't mind if the public doesn't know the name, but I get irritated when people who are watch fans put AP and Vacheron in a league above, hell Patek wouldn't be where they were without JLC building their movements.
WOW!And, as you know, I can't help myself, the latest drawing to accompany the World Timer. View attachment 1177453

This piece is fun for sure.
Yeah JLC -the watchmakers watchmaker.
On most 3rd party lists the pecking order seems to fall at or close to this - PP, AP, VC,JLC, Rolex
JLC falls into 4th place, but this is highly contested. MY JLC pieces have done quite well and they are utterly fantastic wearable art and function.
These days Rolex basically says you have some money but aren't very interesting.
haha, I have not worn it on the other strap yet, It came with the black one and I tried it on once and did not think it would be as comfortable. Wears great as its not giant like many IWC. It wears a lot smaller that that picture looks like. Have not scratched the titanium yet but I'm sure its coming if it is not grade 5. I have not looked up the specs on it to see.Screw youI have been thinking about this one, I am an F1 fan, but not particularly Mercedes AMG Petronas, but the fun colors of this one calls to me, irrationally, the good way
What do you think of how it wears, how is the titanium holding up? Do you wear it on the other strap as well? Its on my short list right now.

Yes. 69385Does that have the IWC in house movement ?

Probably why he Ultra runs $800 bucks! lol ... I haven't worn a watch since 1995. But the Heart and Oxygen feature is kinda important right now! They begin a predictable slide toward zero worth and a home either in a recycling center or a landfill from the minute they come out of the factory.
I spotted this thread so wanted to ask any watch guys following where they'd advise me to sell a Rolex SS Sub? Craigs, EBay or simply take to local pawn shop? I know of a nice watch "pawn shop"my buddies have used here in Newport to add ice to theirs or fix em up a bit. I'll have to see if they buy em too. Apparently these models have increased in value in recent years.

I would consider talking to Bobs in Newport - They may be the (if not, one of) the biggest resellers of Rolex's. I'm sure they have their dealer network for getting product but I'll bet they also buy from sellers.I spotted this thread so wanted to ask any watch guys following where they'd advise me to sell a Rolex SS Sub? FYI, the current secondary market on Rolex is taking an unbelievable beating right now.
Naw.... not my intention.... just getting any insights from dudes who have expertise.... I have none.I'd post it up here first and give the guys a chance to tell you what you should be asking for it and then the opportunity for an RDP member to have first crack at it?![]()
Yeah I have it all... original buyer. Any chance "Bob's" is on Newport Blvd? seems like some of my fancy pants guys in 90s would use a shop somewhere's near nprt Blvd and 17-19th? But jewelers move around a bit I hear.... like these Persian rug dealers ha.I would consider talking to Bobs in Newport - They may be the (if not, one of) the biggest resellers of Rolex's. Sounds like a good reference, thank you. They buy from independent sellers. Very impressive operation. I have purchased from their location by the John Wayne airport. They have appraisers, jewelers, and a production facility making sales videos. I will buy my next watch from them just to check the place out again.

I bought my son a date just on an oyster band from them when he graduated college - they were very nice to deal with. They buy from independent sellers. Very impressive operation. Boy he's got no shortage of inventory on my model. Interesting to note the ones from 70s-90s are more highly valued as opposed to 2000s. Almost double.I bought my son a date just on an oyster band from them when he graduated college - they were very nice to deal with.
Different place - Bobs is by SNA between MacArthur and Dove?? I forget the street.
Edit - that's the place https://www.bobswatches.com
Especially on the high end...
Question is from what - a general oversupply, " the recession", or Rolex getting into the secondhand market, something else? all combined?
Rolex was supplying AD's more than they ever had during covid. Pack pack flippers and greys were eating up stock. More people started back pack flipping buying watches from other back pack flippers. Those back pack flippers then sold to other back pack flippers. The ultra hyped watches that went for crazy money were, almost all, bought by new money back pack flippers. There is an insane amount of " hard to get pieces " jammed up in safes all around the country.
The bloodletting has already started and by mid summer there is going to be some really crazy deals on watches if people will even be buying. We are headed to very interesting times.

A tale as old as time - and at each step the new buyer under the illusion they are worth what they paid........
Funny they are called back pack flippers, as I was amazed at a small watch show just how many guys were walking around with back packs. They whip out watches in little plastic bags with reg papers.....
Seeing them offered now at just under 50. When/if they get into the 30’s I’ll snag one.Yep, they are literally the bag holders this time around. LOL
I kinda wish I would have turned my Meteorite GMT right after I got it. I had a very well known Chicago grey offered me 2x retail and I passed. Earlier this year, February, it was going for 3x retail. Crazy.

Seen two white slider Daytonas offered this week in the 17’s. Couple K over retail with tax. New subs being offered about 500-1000 over retail now. Hoping AD’s will start to have some product as there are now plenty of watches being offered at retail or below now.
They were 14k+ a few months ago. No box or papers. watch only. Likely in worn condition. I personally would not touch that watch. Why is this GMT so reasonably priced?

In my eyes, thats a $7-7500 piece at max.
Racist.Just another douchebag with an Apple Watch. I swore I’d never get one. I’m on a list at my local Rolex dealer for Sub.. It’s gonna be a long wait for a new one.
