We are almost a year in on the Speed Queen set and have had zero issues. Yea, they look like a bare bones appliance but they just perform as advertised.
Our same experience, no extra stuff to break and fast. Thing is a tank

I have new LG washer and Dryer in my Phoenix house and a new Maytag washer and dryer in the Park City house.

I will never buy another washer or dryer unless its a Speed Queen. Should have learned my lesson the first time. My daughter has our old 2009 Kenmoore HE2 washer and dryer and I want to trade them for our 'new' crap. I can go on about why but theres no reason too. In terms of the LG versus Maytag the Maytag is superior.

Get a Speed Queen. I will never buy another washer or dryer unless its from them or an exactly similar product.

The Speed Queen (T5 maybe?) that is the original with a manual dial and no frills is the way to go. Simple.. The washer an dryer my parents had in the 1970's and 80's growing up does better than these bluetooth/wifi enable overpriced underperforming machines... PERIOD

Lowes Is carrying Miele. Heard the dishwasher is better than the Bosch. Everything I saw on display from Miele looks top quality.
Bosch is the German Volkswagen of appliances.

Miele is light years ahead of Bosch in technology and longevity. Miele has their own foundry. They make their own stainless steel.

Dealing with a bad Samsung washer this morning and fed up.

I’m all for buying a set of Speed Queens, but where is the go-to dealer for them in So Cal? (I’m in Upland)

👍

Go get one of the bottom 2 or 3 models from Whirlpool and call it a day.

Also our set does not match color wise on the panel as we have a TC 5 washer but wanted the steam function for the dryer so needed to get the DR5......

Just to update the thread, I also discovered the installers did not level the washer like the instructions said. It was way off, leaning forward. So having leveled it, myself I think that resolved the issues, and will prevent future ones.

I'm with Uncle Dave.

Got a full house of Milele appliances.

Neighbors all have Wolf, SubZero, Viking, Bosch. Sure look good when they invite their friends over to show off name tags. Nothing but problems. Multiple repairs and service visits.

My Milele have been flawless.

How have these held up for you? I really want to know, my kenmore set from the 90’s is on its last legs and I’ve seen too many fancy new W/D sets eat shit after a few years.
Bought them in 2008 and they get daily use, no issues and they wash and dry nicely.
3 girls with washing, 3 boys washing, me washing rugs, towels, rags clothes, RV stuff ,, runs every day, all the time.
I bought them at Home Depot.

The top of the line LG units is their best IMHO.
Direct drive, ball bearing - stainless motors,, worked for decades in the AC world, works good in washer and dryers too.
