Looks like the same ones we have had almost 20 years and I bought them used.. probably 15 years old for like $400 delivered.Speed Queen will be our next purchase. As of now we have have these Kenmore that I bought used when I was like 22yrs old. So i have had them for 20yrs. And i hope they last another 10. The wife, being an LMT does 2-3 loads of sheets and towels everyday and has for 15yrs! But when I comes time we will buy speed queen. I would like to find a couple used coin op speed queen machines. I refuse to buy any of the new fancy stuff. They have one job, clean my clothes, I dont need a fancy touch screen for that shit!
And yes check your vent, hire a sweeper to come clean it. It's like $150

We have a matched set of these in Havasu..bought them from city Maytag.I’m shopping for a new washer and dryer. Wondering if someone has a large capacity set that they love. I have the LG top loader set I bought a while back but I always have to run the dryer 2 cycles for it to get to the correct temp and now my washer has some rust stains in it. Hoping there’s something better these days….large capacity is a must.
make sure you have a drain in the floor or a pan under it for when it inevitably leaks...Have a large cap LG top loader and matching dryer.
They work well for us.
The auto setting on the dryer is sorta iffy unless you set the control to “ver dry”.
Our next setup will be Samsung since they own my company and we get things at close to cost.
Yeah it goes straight up…I have my handyman come and clean it out every 6 months. Which does help. But it’s still an issue.I do not recall where your laundry is in the house but if it has a long dryer vent run, make sure its clean. My dryer has a long run and when it gets built up with stuff it definitely makes the dryer not work as well. Just throwing that out there.

In my experience yes, our old ones leaked from almost day one, in-laws leaked, several sets we installed in multi family projects leaked etc. No experience in the top loaders... I know my LG front loader doesn't leak but its a noisy shit. When they shit the bed I'll go with another set of the Maytag's like we put in havasu last year.I think front loaders are the leakers, not top loaders?
My buddy had a clogged up vent...bout a 20' run and called me for ideas. I grabbed my small drain snake and installed about 20 zip ties on the end of it...leaving the tails. We shot in the vent from outside the house and worked it while running the dryer. It worked great. We had enough lint come out to fill up a big black trash bag. The zip tie tails created about a 9" flexible "brush".Speed Queen will be our next purchase. As of now we have have these Kenmore that I bought used when I was like 22yrs old. Yep, they wash and dry clothes, why does a person need some fancy colored, computer chipped POS to wash dirty clothes. Nothing but a money grab as is most things now days.Notice that regardless of means, everyone who has and old boxy dial type W/D set has had them running for decades with an occasional repair every 10 years and loves them and everyone who buys a fancy dancey sparkly front loader ends up replacing them every 3-5 years?
Our top load LG has a 5.5 cu ft capacityFor those that have a Speed Queen, can you wash a kingsize comforter and do you miss the santize/steam functions?
Looks like capacity is 3.2 vs. some of the front loaders at 5+

A thin king size comforter in a SQ. Otherwise, no. SQ front/top, whether commercial/home washer I think are all under 4 cu ft. Their big hard mount laundromat units are the only >4 cu ft washers. Home dryers are 7 cu ft though. For those that have a Speed Queen, can you wash a kingsize comforter and do you miss the santize/steam functions?

Good thing I didn’t buy the LG Anything modelLG Anything is complete junk.
I believe the 3.2 capacity is based on the water level in the drum due to .Gov regulations. There are YouTube videos that show you how to increase the water level, therefore increasing the "capacity". It's pretty damn easy and takes about 5 minutes. For those that have a Speed Queen, can you wash a kingsize comforter and do you miss the santize/steam functions?

Have to say, LG OLED TV's are fantastic! Bought more of them than a person should, lost a couple in divorces and they are still going strong.LG Anything is complete junk.

We have their Ice ball refrigerator and love it. I recommended to a friend and they have had nothing but problems with the ice ball maker. They ended up getting a full refund for the fridge and getting to keep it because it was a lemon and they are back ordered.Good thing I didn’t buy the LG Anything model
No issue in 4 years but who knows…it’ll get replaced with a Samsung (I get them at cost since they own our company) when it craps out.
Looking around my house, I’ve got way more LG shit than I thought I had…my corporate overlords won’t be happy about that

I bought a Miele gas clothes dryer for my last home about 12 years ago ( ex wife still has it) but it was temperamental also. Super sensitive to the exhaust pressure, the vent pipe was about 20' long and I am sure that had to do with the intermittent problems but even when it was operating as intended I didn't feel it was worth the money. Front loader washers are just a PITA in my experience over 20 years of experience.American style washers are junk.
Get a Miele front loader. It takes a little longer to do the job, but the clothes come out clean and un-damaged.
