why is the engine so far back in this boat?
Julian Pettingill operated Arizona Ski boats out of Phoenix. He bought the Biesemeyer name from Rusty Biesemeyer as well as some molds. Julian with help from Ron Ehde and Rusty modified the bottom of an aquacraft shark (greatly) and put an original design deck (Rusty's design) on it building the 1st generation of "Julian era" Biesemeyer flatbottoms. The boats were refined from there.
Julian built and drove his new designs into the recod books by dominating the circle boat world with his Green K-50 "Cold Fire" race boats.
The boat pictured above was purchased from Julian (it was his sons boat) and sold to Wayne on the original K-50 trailer. Wayne replicated Julians K-50 and spared almost no detail. Wayne did this with Julians help and blessing.
This is Wayne Herbert's Ghost of Coldfire. Replica paint job of Julian Pettingill's Coldfire K-Boat. Champion emblems from when Julian raced. the 2009 is from when Dave Bryant raced and won in this boat at Long Beach
