Anyone else not interested in supporting that industry?

Not trying to throw shade on people's excitement over the movie but I'm not interested in supporting libtard acting industry with my money. My wife has been hinting about the movie and i'm indifferent...

I'd like to see it, but very rarely go to the theater. I'll see it on DVD. I hope it is well received, and they tried to stay more towards entertainment than politics.

I get it but don’t, if we don’t do what want irrelevant of the peoples backwards views we would have no social media, shopping, movies, tv or anything. I ignore all that and continue with our lives.

Or support non-woke entertainment?

Saw it the other day and liked it.

Reflecting on how they could have fucked it up makes me love it.

Sadly, I wouldn't doubt it. I still have CD's and LP's too. Oh well, when the solar flares hit and the emp's fry us...I'll still have my LP's to listen to.
Ya'll are screwed!
I’m right there with you. When the internet goes down and all the clouds implode, I’ll still have all my Blu-ray’s, dvds, CDs, and records for entertainment.

I put all my CD’s onto computer a few years ago. They’re in boxes. Tried to give them away a couple of times. No takers.

I'm going to see it tomorrow night with my brother. My cable company has TV on demand. It has hundreds of movies and TV shows. I laugh at people on FB marketplace trying to sell TV show and movie DVD's.

Just saw it. Yes, a little cheesy, but they did an excellent job staying true to the first movie and kept the honor of the movie for those of us that grew up with Top Gun. Don’t know if they could have done much better, really.
Tom Cruise actually does a small monologue to the audience before it starts. He’s a nut job, but you could tell how important the movie is to him, and I think they nailed it.

We saw it last night, I thought it was a little cheesy at times but it was a great movie. Original was better but a great as far as sequel's go.
Good take. That's what we thought - but a good movie.

You would be surprised on how many conservatives are in our industry. I’m one of them. Majority of the crews behind the Camera on set are as well. So your money does support some good people.

We just left the theater and thought it was halfway decent. I don't think it's s going to be a "Classic" the way the original is, but it's still good.

We saw it last night. Loved it. We also appreciated Cruise's monologue before the movie started. I don't think they could have done a better job. They kept much of the storyline true to the original. Miles Teller was a superb cast for Goose's son. Penny Benjamin (the admiral's daughter mentioned in the original) is in this one. I didn't have high expectations so it certainly exceeded them. The flight choreography (is that the correct term??) was absolutely amazing! I don't know if it was CG or not and don't really care. This is the first movie we've seen since Covid began and we used to go a lot.

One thing to add. This is opening weekend, right? We're in Durango and I purchased the tickets around noon for 6 PM and got decent seats. At the theater, there was zero line to get in. There were 2 people in front of us at the concessions. We still had the reserved recliner seating. Such a great experience watching it in a small town. In Reno, or anywhere in SoCal, it would have been a complete zoo. Parking, getting in, purchasing snacks. It would have taken an additional 30 minutes. I'm never moving back to a big city again. Oh, and we parked literally right in front of the theater doors. The small-town experience was enjoyable.

You managed to squeeze a "I hate California" shot in on a Top Gun movie thread. Nicely Done ;)🤣

I would think if you’re even remotely interested in seeing this movie it would have to be in full Dolby 9.7 or whatever sound.
Yup, I have a pretty nice surround sound system now but it's not theater quality, we will be seeing it in the theater, as well as Jurassic World in a couple of weeks.

I'm waiting until tomorrow with my brother. I want to see it in a theater, big screen and sound. We go Tuesday nights here because movies are half priced. Big fan of the original.

I remember seeing the original in the theater summer of 86. Saw it with my brother and his girlfriend at the time. The girlfriend brought a couple of friends. That movie got girls revved up cause I ended up making out with one of the friends. Despite her having a boyfriend and I was two years younger then her!

I try to avoid threads like these, only because when I read glowing reviews I expect the movie to be great and sometimes I set my expectations so high that I’m often disappointed when It doesn’t live up to the hype.

Take Ford vs Ferrari, everyone loved it and I heard nothing but great reviews about the movie, It was ok, I expected much more. Very predictable storyline. But I loved how it was shot.
