This Shouldn't be considered a vote for TBI's thread for the Beer sign. :D

Dream on Toad boy, that neon is as good as hanging on my wall :fingers:

I would normally agree, but you clearly haven't read chapter 4, paragraph 2, subsection B of "The Book of JBB"... Which clearly forbids this sort of fraternization among moderators. It is a preventative measure to keep you from exerting your substantial powers to influence votes.

Great movie! Dazed and Confused was to the 70's what American Graffiti was to the 60's. I graduated from high school in '74 and they really nailed it.

Alright, alright, alright! Just keep on livin!:D:thumbup:

The best thing about high school girls is I keep getting older but they stay the same age...

Are you saying that you would rather win as a result of some feeble, "dreamt up" technicality, than to win with substance?

Don't missundertake me, I enjoy your Weekend at Bernie's thread, and your boat is pretty cool

But......you have to be a combination of Tom Brown and Dennis Miller to figure out what the fuck you're trying to say half of the time.

There is a lot more at stake here than a neon sign my friend, I'm talking about the hearts of our RDP brothers and sisters........

Don't miss your off ramp dude

...The coupe in the pics was done by Rod Emory,...Emory Motorsports,... with the intent of taking his bride on a trip into Mexico with a tiny Airstream trailer in tow... ...So on the way(actually part of the master plan), they stopped at The Pebble Beach Concoures De Eligance where Porsche was the Marquee... ...The Porsche engineers that were there were convinced that the factory had built it as a factory race car very early on... ...The car took the Peoples choice award,...and Rod and his wife hooked up the Airstream and off into Mexico they went... ...I am not sure if Rod told the German contingent the truth or not???... ...Jerry Seinfeld offered an astronomical sum for it but the offer was politely turned down...

The first one we clearly had an issue because I never said when the thread had to be started (even though the intent of the contest was to promote threads that had been started in that quarter). This included JBB's "A few kodak moments" thread because of the lack of start time in the threads. JBB said he wanted a member to win the sign, and I posted "mods can't win."

So technically mods can't win... Please check your PM for the rest of the post.

...When I was in grammer school,...which ironically is about 300 feet from where I'm sitting right now,...I see this woody pull up and drop someone off at the front gate... ...I was so transfixed by the custom grill,...that I have no recollection as to who got out of the car... ...I found out decades later that that this is the car that Gary Emorys mother drove the kids to school in... ...So I don't know if Gary who was two years ahead of me or his brother Don who was one year behind me got out???...

Oh... and I recommend that anyone that wins this sign give it to TBI... This thread delivers. Lots of content... tons of work, excellent timing for a win.

I was kidding about the technicality.

Except for me. If I win, I am getting the fucking Budweiser frogs for sure.

About time for a chop with RD as King Solomon ordering JBB to divide a beer sign in two with a torch. :D

I have a LeMat signed copy of that pic framed, hanging in my shop.
I also have a signed limited edition pencil type piece of art of the car, framed, hanging in the house. Ian Jones, the artist, did 300 of them, I am told that mine is one of a handful autographed by he and Paul LeMat.
Love the AG stuff.

TBI..this stuff thread delivers. I can't decide which tow vehicle I like best, but what I think is a 1968 Kingswood Estate station wagon with the woody look is very, very cool.

Beautiful. What is it?

...It is one of the many customs turned out by Neil Emory and Clayton Jensen of Valley Custom in Burbank... ...The car belonged to Glen Hooker who I think was a relative of the Emorys... ...It is a '39 Merc convertable... ...As far as I know they only showed their many works at a major show once... ...It may have been the 1955 Motorama at The Pan Pacific Auditorium in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles... ...They took home all the major awards and word has it George Barris, the perenial winner, was not happy...

Jeff, agree that the '68 Wagon is the coolest (in this thread...I liked the '67 a little better). Not to argue badging, but I'm quite sure that Kingswood badge died around '66 and this one would have been a Caprice wagon. My feeble eyes tell me that the front fender might say Caprice.

You are right Carl, it is a Caprice. Kingswood...yep I am old. :D

Sleek that may be 80's hair but that Car is 1967. I have the original RedLine Hot Wheels version. It was the last of the first run and my Mom and I checked every dang store we went in to in North Long Beach looking for it. She'd buy them for 98 cents, and put them away. Every week after I mowed the front and back lawns (reel type push mower) taken out the trash, run the sprinklers, edged the lawn, hosed off the driveway, I got to open one.
I think we found, "The Red Baron" at T, G, & Y in Bixby Knolls.
