Kobe? Cordial was too interested in the girls.LOL David was super nice. Talked to him for quite a bit.Was he nice to you? I was a kid he refused to sign an autograph. Which I see both sides of
Any Sammy stories? Watched a few YT vids of Sammy recently and he had a lot of car and Eddie stories.I have met and worked on a few famous peoples cars. The most famous of coarse is Eddie Van Halen. First time I met him was at his house. I wouldn't have known who he was if I wasn't told where I was going. Became friends with him and got some cool concert tickets from him. He got me box seats at the last show at Hollywood bowl with Vip passes. Took a long time female friend to the show. We went back to the vip area and were just hanging out when Eddie and his entourage come out of the back for a meet and greet and pics. He sees me standing there and waves and says " let me finish this up and I will be over" Ok. He comes over and my female friend is just awestruck. " Come on lets go to back stage and you can say hi to Alex." We go back to the dressing rooms and in one room is Wolf and Valerie sitting there. The ne went down and chatted with Alex for a bit. Still talk and text Alex on occasion.
Also met and worked on Mischa Barton's Cadillac. Also Met and worked on a couple of cars for Jerry Cantrell. Cool dude... A few others over the years.
Nice to hear he’s on the mend.I see John Force around town. I was at the local donut shop today and the owner said he has been coming in again now that he’s back home. But not driving yet.
I grew up in Napa. As soon as I saw 1970 and Santa Rosa I kind of figured where you were going. When I was about 8 yrs old (1970) my family and I were at an ice skating rink in Santa Rosa Ca. where my cousin lived. A man walks out of an office and my aunt says I think that's Charles Schultz and tells me to go over and ask him. I go ask and he replies...."nope, never heard of him" with a big smile on his face and nods at my aunt. Charles Shultz is the cartoonist who created the snoopy/charley Brown cartoon characters. He owned the skating rink too.
Never met him. All sorts of David lee roth stories. But not for a public forum.Any Sammy stories? Watched a few YT vids of Sammy recently and he had a lot of car and Eddie stories.

Brad Anderson, Marmaduke cartoonist, was a great customer of ours & became very close to the family. The Andersons ultimately moved to Tucson but still came to us to service & buy cars. When I was about 8 yrs old (1970) my family and I were at a ice skating rink in Santa Rosa Ca. where my cousin lived. Send me your autograph! Not to humble-brag but generally conversations like this contain memories of when people met me.

State Line racesWas this up in Los olives area?
Dammit... My idol as well, growing up skiing in Mammoth a bunch as a teenager/young adult. Shit.. I was at Ming last weekend and he stopped and talked to the driver I was pulling to the in-ramp.. I just looked in the mirror and wondered who that was..They say you never want to meet your heroes, you’ll only be disappointed. BUT, I just happened to meet and talk to a skiing hero of mine last weekend at the boat races, Glen Plake. Talked to him and his wife Kim for a while and they could not have been nicer. I follow Plake on social media and he and his wife lead a life of adventure for sure. View attachment 1432628
NDA ring a bell?I have celebrity clients, but can't disclose lol
First time I saw Gene years ago, he was walking through the garages at Indy. I'm thinking "Who is this short bushy haired turd and why are those four hot girls walking with him?"Discount Tire a few years ago. I'm in line behind some older guy with long scraggly hair, boots, jeans and a black worn sports coat. He's asking all these dumb questions. I'm thinking who is this Gene Simmons KISS wannabe mother fukker and why is he taking so long. Gawd!
No never met him. How long ago was this?? My dad had an engine machined by Fains many years ago. I met Jim a few times.Has Jake Busey ever been around there?
Many years ago I was working at Jim Fain’s shop in Ventura. He hired me as a cylinder head guy as I had worked for Bob Hayes and Darrel Coker, and had made a little bit of an impression on a few pro stock guys.
Fain would sometimes have racers show up on the western races for some late night emergency work.
Anyway, Jake Busey would come around in a mint ‘66 SB Chevelle that I did the heads on. I don’t think we did the whole engine, can’t remember but I remember tricking out the heads.
He was way cool then. Always had a couple Hollywood looking starlets with him, but he was extremely down to earth.
Struck me as a genuine car guy in the making.
Never did see his dad!!
Too funny. I know who he is now but surely wouldn’t have know him then.My other claim to fame is going to Coachella one year with my wife. We're in the VIP section (comp tix of course...) and she sees Jared Leto back when he was "it." I was like Jared Leno? Is he like Jay Leno's kid or something (I don't follow Hollywood...)? "L-E-T-O Leto, not Leno" the wife is yelling at me. She starts to stalk the poor guy around the VIP section and finally grows the cajones to ask the guy for a pic. He was totally cool about it and obliges. My wife hands her phone to her drunk husband for the long awaited highly anticipated Kodak moment, and to this day I have no idea how I f'ed it up, but the pic came out completey blank... Still paying for that one...
I almost showed him “My license to Thrill”. We watched him absolutely bomb Cornice Bowl on a pair of downhill boards. I think he made 4 turns.Dammit... My idol as well, growing up skiing in Mammoth a bunch as a teenager/young adult. Shit.. I was at Ming last weekend and he stopped and talked to the driver I was pulling to the in-ramp.. I just looked in the mirror and wondered who that was..
Do tell. Or maybe blog. I don’t know.… I wouldn’t know where to start… From drag racing in the mid 60s…to the Rock ‘n’ roll business late 60s and early 70s… And then on to the movie and TV business in the 70s and 80s…… there were a bunch of them…

Toby Keith and his band was the house band at a local bar for years. I used to see him often. This is his first "tour bus".Wife and I headed down to see Toby Keith at the San Diego fair many moons ago. Sitting at the hotel bar and we hear this voice.. it’s unmistakably Toby Keith ordering a bud light right next to me.. Very humble and friendly View attachment 1432704
