Yes $20k buys the boat with new clean title. I have found 550-650hp motors for $20k pair and bravo XR drives for $15k pair. Good upholstery shops can do the outside seats for $6k and new inside cushions for $4k. Gel coat is still like new just needs buffing. I can get like new trailer for $10k
That’s optimistic pricing on some of the items you’re talking about and some of the others won’t be up to offshore standards. I’d add another $50k for incidentals and another $12 for a trailer. Cheap is not how you build a boat that takes your family to the ocean. A low run boat, even if it’s a Schiada isn’t a $200,000 with Mercury 525’s and bravo’s. Maybe with 700 hp and 6’s but even then there are a lot better boats to buy for $200,000.

Regardless of what folks say this boat is worth, it's only going to be worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. That being said, it's going to take a buyer who has the financial means to approach the project with an open checkbook who restores this boat simply because they LOVE this particular boat. They will have no interest in flipping the boat as some have mentioned.

No offense, this is not going to be a "$200K or more" boat with "Fresh" motors, rebuilt drives and a used trailer. You're not talking to a group of uneducated boat owners here.

For example, I know of an immaculate 38' Hustler Slingshot for sale with massive Brummett power, Arneson drives on a BITCHEN trailer that needs absolutely nothing....... $150K.

I love Schiadas as much as the next guy, and this is a special boat with some unique history to go along with it.....but your pricing estimates are a little off. I hope it does sell, and I hope the buyer is an enthusiast with deep pockets. That's the only way this deal works and you end up with a beautifully restored 32' Schiada.

I'm not an expert in Schiadas, but I'm imagining it's kinda like a Ferrari. A cheap Ferrari is the most expensive Ferrari lol.

I think seller should just sell it and not get too wrapped up in the details.. It's obvious he's not the kinda guy who'd own one and open checkbook it. There's an ass for every seat and it's a cool boat, GLWS. I'm looking forward more to the build thread!

The 20, 21, 22 and 24 are where the big money tends to go. That’s not to say Schiada’s bigger boats are not just as nice.

But to your point yes, even a free Schiada isn’t cheap lol.

I really do hope this boat ends up back on the water and I also hope it's documented in here in a build thread. I'd like to jump on this but I'm short 175k. RD would go over the top on this, proof of this is the sign truck.

If the owner can get this boat restored and in the water for a 100k and he says it would be worth over 200k. Why would it be for sale? Sounds like an easy 100k come up.

I’m thinking some numbers may not be realistic otherwise someone would already be at work on it.

For a DIY kinda guy, this would be a cool build and could stay in budget.

Not gonna be a money maker though, the 32' Schiada might be a rarity but bigger V-hulls are at bargain prices these days - everyone wants deck boats or cats.
Unless theres somebody who really want's a 32' . . .

It would be a labor of love to build it your way DIY and probably break even - a project for the Schiada lover.
Paying a shop to do it, it will cost double and exceed the value of the boat for sure.

My only question is - does a 32' Schiada require 4, or 5 axles?

You need 8. Can't move it around the shop with a regular tug or forklift, need one of these to look the part..

The reality of this boat is that it has sat outdoors and uncovered for more than a decade. The interior is toast, and "$4K" isn't going to be a quarter of what will be required to replace it. The helm has been gutted, so new gauges and a steering system including hoses and rams will be required.

The wiring system is junk. It'll need all new rigging, including stuff like trim and bilge pumps, blower, and batteries. A new stereo system will cost over $10K. The hull isn't going to be fixed by a quick buff. It'll need hours and hours of attention.

The purchase, installation, and sorting out of decent motors and drives will easily run close to $100K.

This thing is a hulk. It's worthless.

A couple Junkyard LS motors, a couple Bravo1 out drives, wrap the seats in Walmart towels and go Beaver hunting in the channel!!
It’ll still probably be worth $150,000 🤣

Back when there were Magic Hulls being auctioned off by lenders I had a 4.3 Vortec V-6 sitting in the garage. Thought Eff it why not pick up a hull and drop it in with an alpha drive and just put a loud stereo in it so nobody hears the little motor ;)

This is a better reference for you, threads all over on this one and it's history (it's still for sale BTW). He's advertising $53k and last I spoke a couple months back he was in the low 40s... running with a trailer.

Partially sunk then sat outside forever with plug in and no cover... someone bought it and halfass put it together and sold it through Inland Marine/auto sales. Current owner purchased it from them and keeps sending old pictures prior to water damage. Engines are rebuilt but he can't get them tuned right and won't sell until its running.... keep trying to get out and put eyes and hands on it.
What’s it got for power?
SBC 377's but who really knows

Not a bad idea. I met a guy like that at the sandbar a long time ago, 20 year old contractor kid, had some sort of 35' offshore style boat he got for cheap. Threw some basic engines in it and just ran that shit. Had a bunch of girls in it too. Still not worth it, but it'd be fun

Either not a very good salesman or some type of scam situation since they won’t let you go out and see it.

Kind of my idea on the above 32' I posted, be fun to have a beater for the salt. Cruise the harbor, take kids\friends out to buzz around on weekends and have a decent boat but not freak out over the abuse...

Someone who built a lot of Schiada and Hallett ski race boats told me years ago that the big Schiada was not a great handling boat, not sure which size he was talking about though.
32 Lavey and 30 Eliminator V’s were not big sellers either and they were pretty good boats. I think 32 is kind of mid size and offshore size matters.

It's Friday and I've had a few 7&7's already, so here I go.........

If you think you can buy this boat for 20K, freshen it up, and it's worth 200K, you are on fucking glue.

That said, my Hallett 300T is for sale. 150K. Serious offers only. I know what I got.

I was at first communicating with the wife, sounded like THEY know they got scammed by Inland Auto and Boat and now he's dumped more than expected into it. He went radio silent for a year when I asked about the water damage, I sent a text for fun a couple months back after a buddy bought a bitchin 32' with Brummett motors and got me excited again. He actually responded and said its in storage and trying to get the motors "IN-Sync" after he had them rebuilt.... wouldn't answer a phone call and only short text messages.
Here's the thread I found when I was pursuing back in 2020...

Audi TTRS. Makes 1300awhp. He’s trying to go 7.9 in the 1/4. It’s one of the last few cars I’m working on. Will only be GTRs from now on.

You being a GTR guy do you happen to know Lucas English?

Well the only “big” boat Schiada has after the 24 is the 32. And the 24 is the cats meow so I’d assume they meant the 32.

Our 30 Eagle does great in the ocean. I will say the 30 feels damn small in the ocean though compared to running Havasu.

Don’t forget the 40 something. She’s a big boat.

Isn’t there a 42 or something? I remember seeing it at the LA boat show and thinking the 42 fountain I had at the time would fit in the Schiada.
The 30 Eliminator Factory 2 boat raced well in POPRA. The National series guys were on another level.

Inl don't have time right now to read 6 pages. Are we repo'ng a boat or no?

Repo Daves Place

Here's where we are at:

1. I mix a mean 7&7
2. New member shows up, acting innocently and resurrects an 11 year old post about a stolen boat.
3. RDP being RDP does what RDP does and finds it, along with google maps help and gets down and dirty with location, local business info (non RDP Advertisers) and such. Boat ends up being removed.
4. We get multiple posts with no substance in typical RDP style.
5. New member shows back up and claims to have the boat in possession.
6. New member states it's for sale. Turns out they are a boat impound and disposal company.
7. New member says you can now own this boat for their impound fees of 20k.
8. New member states you can put just a few dollars into it, buff the hull, and sell it for no less than 200k.
9. I decided my boat is worth 150K. No less.

To answer your question, no. It has been impounded. I think.

I've come to realize this stolen boat thread has turned into a boat for sale spam thread. Mods should move it from the "lounge".

Edited the list for my edification.
