Yeah I was going to say any good builder will have a long wait list. The engine builder I use is always a few month out just to start on it. If they are good they are busy.
I can see that with specialty things. We have a guy in town here that has been building a motor for a Kindig project...since the first of the year. But that said, this guy in the post seems to have a relatively normal setup, not too much custom, and certainly nothing hand fabbed. With your builder, is he just out that far, or would he have everything that long? Being months out, even a year, is pretty normal for resto shops and custom car builders. Like you said, if they're good, other people want them too.
IMO clayton is shady too. I’ll never be rich but I sleep good at night knowing how I make my money.

No idea on 2 but it's because used in good shape they are worth 10k and rebuilt about 25kI have 2 questions:
1 - Who steals a 496
2 - Is Richard Sanchez a pseudonym
What BBQ are you hearing these prices at?No idea on 2 but it's because used in good shape they are worth 10k and rebuilt about 25k
Aint that the truth.Clayton always seems to have a problem with a boat shop.

Richard Sanchez is actually his name. I use to work with him. Sorry to ruin the fun.Don't know, but I've heard of a "Diry Sanchez" before!
Yes, this is the Steve we know, son, from what I'm gathering. I don't know if Sr. worked at Cole Boats but I do know he had his own repair shop in Elsinore in the mid to late 80's. He called it Pro Marine and worked on stern drives. He would occasionally take Merc outboards in and I would do those for him along with the Volvo Penta stuff. He bought his parts from the shop I worked at in Riverside. I'd like to see Sr. again just to shoot the shit. I heard he went though some pretty tough times.I did not read all the posts. Is this Steve junior by any chance ? Is there a Steve Jr. Steve L was the rigger at Cole in the late 80's and moved to Havasu to start rigging boats. He did really top notch rigging. He was much older than me and I will be 60 this year.
He would tell you differently. he is of the mindset he has lived his life completely above board.
Pretty sure Steve died a number of years ago and his wife 5ish years ago.Yes, this is the Steve we know, son, from what I'm gathering. Didnt clayton have a issue with a local havasu upholstery shop around a year ago..

If you treat everyone as if they had a 1911 on their hip, you won't get any complaints!

Good in theory, but some folks just need killin'.

Why wouldn’t he take his OL to one of the big shops in Havasu is the real question.

Kick the union to the curb and start your own company. With your drive, you'll kill it!
Give John Jory a call and see how he's doing.
John and his wife have Angels baseball seats next to ours. I see and talk to him often.
Ask him about the trip to Harveys disco-a-gogo when he was 18, with Irwin and I.
The last time I saw Jack Jory I clued him in as I figured enough time had passed. Jack's response was, "this is going to be an interesting Thanksgiving dinner discussion."
Be sure it's John Jr. and not Jack when you ask.
I’m sure he’s doing good but the company is having a hard time. Vegas is about to close doors and Tim was a main player for them in Cali but left to start intex and took half the crew with him. It’s still in the back of my mind though.Kick the union to the curb and start your own company. With your drive, you'll kill it!

Lmao will do

That’s a bummer to read.Pretty sure Steve died a number of years ago and his wife 5ish years ago.
In your photo, is that John and his mother or is it Jack and his wife?
Who's the guy in the Angel outfit, Dan Petry Jr. ?
"Harvey's", now there's a blast from the past!! Remember "China"???Ask him about the trip to Harveys disco-a-gogo when he was 18, with Irwin and I.

Clayton has had issues with several vendors in town.
That being said that doesn’t have a lot to do with what happened here. What happened here was no bueno.. hence the cops. Clayton has a civil suit against Steven.
There are others that have criminal complaints.
I think from merc a 496ho is 18k with a 2 year warrantyWhat BBQ are you hearing these prices at?
yeah, guilty right here.... went that routeSeemed like clayton lost an engine quite a while ago, I'm not sure if this is his first rebuild with that boat thinking it has 1075's but cant remember, but if it was, the price to do it right was probably a little shocking. There are shady business owners, but there are shady customers also trying to do things for as cheap as possible thinking they will get the same product as if they spent the money to do it correctly
I thought it was Jack but after looking at myself in the mirror, Jr. Could have aged along with the rest of us.That is Jack and his wife. He’s still doing the Sprint Car deal too last I heard.
I started going there in 77 and continued through when it became angels, I'm sure I saw a few China's over the years."Harvey's", now there's a blast from the past!! Remember "China"???

Last time I saw Jack was in 97 or 98 when I was visiting over at Mark Bemis water proofing. Jory was right next door so I thought that I should stop in and say hi.
Hey RD do you know where he moved to? My friend was coming down tomorrow to get his boat and now says he’s getting a run around and has no new address to send anyone?!.

I’m familiar with Bemis too. I’m sure we know a lot of the same people. I interact with them frequently.
That picture of Jack was last year. I haven’t seen him at any games this year but his season seats are still his. I’ll be there for this coming Saturday night game so hopefully I’ll run into him. He’s quite the character so I can imagine what it’s like when you two get together lol.
