Then QC sucks. Units overheat if you run a windshield, turbo housing is too thin. The list goes on.
What was said “to be the best ever” is having issues.

I give credit to RG and the Speed Team for trying to fix everything, but that is going to BK a company, when you are paying for parts twice!
Regarding Safety issues.
Please provide us with the LIST that goes on including a list from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Ohh wait here it is!! https://www.cpsc.gov/search?search_api_fulltext=SPEEDUTV

Humm ok then, now lets go back to the 2016 Polaris Turbo RZR's, I owned one, mine had recalls and issues and ohh my 🤔 one of them was overheating, no really!! 😲

Polaris as a mfg has had several hundred if not thousands of recalls on their motorsport's products from RZR's to Snowmobiles and most if not, all have been fixed with no mention of struggling financially, yes we all know they have deep pockets and can weather these issues but to date I haven't read anything about SPEEDUTV's financial short falls due to turbos, fuel pressure sensors or? again please add to the list.

If you have a few hours, you can read all of the listed recalls from Polaris here: https://www.polaris.com/en-us/recalls/off-road/

I don’t remember Polaris saying they have the best car, going to competitors dealerships and showing how great their car is and highlighting issues with the competition. Attacking those online who post video of test results, etc.. Never once heard Polaris say cars will be delivered by x and miss that date consistently. RG’s online persona, causes folks (including me) to continually highlight the negative and poke at issues.

I like the design of the car, but until a warranty and dealership network is fully established for warranty and repair work, no way I am purchasing one. Options for repairs are limited today and those options will get stressed as more folks take delivery and items keep popping up. Hell, RD posted he is going out of pocket to fix his turbo issue and is working on ways to resolve the windshield heat issue (no windshield over 70 is a BS solution). Those issues are similar to stop-rides IMO.

Also, I have now stated multiple times, I give credit to RG for trying to fix everything that is causing issues on delivered cars, but sooner or later that process will break.

Has anyone who actually has one taken it to the dunes yet? We were out in glamis last weekend and I saw 1 or 2. The first one was on the road to olds and I will say going through the whoops the suspension looked very nice. He wasn't flying by any means but cruising around 30-35 and the car looked good. The second one I saw was out by swingset and when the guy left we watched him go through the dunes right behind it. Not hating and maybe the guy just wasn't on it but the car looked and sounded like it was struggling and had no balls trying to get up the few hills I could see. Anyone have any first hand experience with one in the dunes?

That’s the turbo issue.. there’s a guy named Dave Hargrett he isn’t having the issue and his car is hauling ass all over the place in Glamis.. there’s videos of him clearing the swing set etc

Got it that would make a lot of sense if it is losing boost

Okay.
To quote you then.
I don't want to sound like an asshole here but why would a manufacturer make 3,000 replacement units if a problem hasn't been acknowledged as existing?

Replacement can be for new builds going forward or for the "tons" of cars already built.

Just a question, nothing more.

They were the original turbos that were to be used.. For some reason they decided to go with a different supplier, and now there's an issue. So there's 3000 brand new ball bearing bad ass turbos sitting on a shelf waiting for a home. 2 of them are going in my cars.. LOL

Who paid for the 3000 turbos?
Is RG cuttin costs by using a cheaper turbo?

I don’t know the ins and outs of it.. as in I don’t have the po’s or invoices etc..

All I know is there is direct replacement ball bearing turbos ready to go that won’t crack so I’m heading down that path..

How much is a new push turbo? I bet that is over $2k if it's a quality ball bearing turbo. Will you get more HP out of it?

I’m hoping to just get one it had stock.. lol. I can tell you I found an easy way to get better throttle response and acceleration. Their entire air filter system and intake tract can be easily changed to

1. Actually filter air
2. Be a lot less restrictive

It would be interesting to know the whole story with that.
The obvious assumption is cost control but it could be any number of things.

I've made my personal decision to just jump ship on Speed and go with a Pro R.

Maybe in a couple of years, maybe less, I can revisit Speed as an option.
Time will tell.

Did sixty miles the other day on a long loop to Topock and back.. absolutely love the way this car handles and corners!

Wish I didn’t hurt myself so bad on my kids scooter the other night.. bummed I’m missing a bunch of rides this weekend.

Awesome. Thats got to be the largest gathering of Speed cars on one ride.

What is everyone else’s opinion of there cars?

Notice the Speed tires are looking pretty worn on many of the cars, including a Can Am.

Been kind of avoiding this thread for a month or so. Was still too much...attitude? Good to see a lot of the cars getting miles and people beating on them. So far, very little news about suspension issues or breakage. Pretty impressive, I know some off roaders can break an anvil. Motor issues are kind of par for the course. Big manufacturers still have recalls and screw-ups, so I'd assume a startup would as well.

Can I borrow your car for Desert Bash poker run? Speed really screwed me again when they stopped El Jefe production to start Diablo's.

I saw 3 Speed cars in Ocotillo this week, all of them looked great, but two of them showed up to Blowsand (only sand hill in Ocotillo) and they both seemed to struggle going up the hill…not sure if they both were just taking it easy, but to me they looked and sounded like they were struggling and both only went up once then parked

Most of them are having a low boost problem from cracked turbos.. the new turbos are already on the way. That’s why they are struggling in the sand.. even with ten lbs of boost missing these cars are still fast as shit in the dirt.

Are they replacing all the old units under warranty?

Damn 101 is way to fast for me in one of these cars. My mentality is different with kids. Maybe 10 years ago I’d like to see what it can do but now I’m good in the 60s. Lol.
Lol, my turbo S loves above 70. 70-90 is very comfy in the car. It’s like being in a cat in rough water.
