The moderators on this page are assholes. They don't let anybody access who dont have an order. It seems they have the list of orders. I got in by putting a pre-order number over 23000. It seems they don't have order names after that number. Took me 4 tries to get in.

Typical Speed deposit holders. They are all like snowflakes, and need their safe space. That’s why I like forums like Glamis Dunes. They let all the assholes in.

So? Did you find that quote?? Or is it just more fake news??

@RiverDave Should be able to verify if it's real or not...

I think there is a whole lot more made in Vietnam than we think. With China's reaction to Covid and being an adversary of the US I think a lot of companies are looking to get out, Vietnam is one of the move-to places.

That’s just weird. No previous mention of moving and now it’s done. It’s not a flip of a switch to move the production line not to mention an all new crew. Seems like they would have mentioned it. Strange there are never any employees working on the cars.

at least 5 more pages of speculation! From people that don’t know anything….

Weird is an understatement.

Mmmmmm, Thailand !!

A friend of mine, slightly older than me, went on a guys trip to Thailand …..

when he got back he split from his wife of 30 + years, Retired from his trade, closed his business & sold a bunch of stuff and moved back there! This was like 6-8 years ago now!

He ended up getting married to a nice Thai gal and is a Happy Man….

Speculation?

The people with the deposits are the speculators here.

The rest of us are just going by the facts. And those facts are not exactly painting a pretty picture? 🤷‍♂️

Man I sure hope the faithful come out ok. 🙏

No doubt there’s a ton that’s been moved there. Pretty much anything made with metal products due to the increased Chinese tariffs. Companies started diversifying 4-5 years ago. It took them quite awhile to get up and running.

So what you’re saying is a lot of Speed deposit holders will be making their way to Asia to “check on” their build.

Well, moving or setting up entire manufacturing assembly line from China to South Vietnam gotta be a major undertaking taking weeks or months.

So the Hisun manufacturing was not true?
My understanding is Hisun is still doing it, but in the Hisun Vietnam location.
Moving lines takes months.
Gut says they needed to reduce mfg costs, and those are lower in Vietnam vs China. Plus import tariffs are different, which reduces costs.

Originally you had to establish your financing 30 days prior to you taking delivery. But no finance company will or can bill you before you take possession. They would not want to because even they are not responsible for payment of the vehicle to the dealer until you take possession.

I'm not sure this is true. When we purchased our Colorado in early April 2019, we financed through US Bank and did not receive the vehicle until mid-May. We made a payment about a week before we received the truck. Of course, this was Chevrolet and US Bank (our personal bank at the time). I'm pretty sure there was not much uncertainty about whether or not we would eventually get the truck in our possession. Will they bill you? I'm not sure. Can they? Apparently so, based on my experience.

I don’t know why this topic is so polarizing and the product (or lack there of) is so hated on.. it’s bizarre to me
Everything is polarizing these days, Dave. This is only one example. I posted about this a while back (may have been in a RE thread). If you challenge anyone's thoughts or opinion on anything nowadays, they take it as a personal affront. I was listening to a lecture by Dr. Jordan Peterson, and when he stated the following, I had to stop and replay it, because it made me think of this new online method of social interaction. I know that for many of us, message boards are not new, but the whole online social forum in general is fairly new in the grand scheme of things. Dr. Peterson said this:

"Part of the reason that people don’t like to have their belief systems, what
would you call, challenged is that there’s a psychological component to that because if
you have your belief system challenged, then it disturbs your belief and the validity of the
relationship between your map [where you fit] and the world itself, so that’s disconcerting.

It might also be a threat to your perceived social status, so if you are an expert
hypothetically in some area, and because of that you’ve been granted a position in a
dominant hierarchy, then if I threaten your status, then I threaten your claim to the
validity of the position in that social hierarchy, and that’s also disconcerting because your
position in the social hierarchy, your perception of that is one of the things that regulates
your emotion."

So I think it messes with people's self-perception of their position in the social hierarchy of this board, or in the online social space even, and because of this, there is an angry response, as if they have been personally attacked. Anyway, that is how I take it, and this lecture kind of reinforced that idea, or at least helped me make some logical sense of it.

JP is spot on with that...as well people are more likely to find conflict online vs in person as online you lack nuance, body language, verbal queues, mis-interpretation, ect... so where you normally are able to work something out in person, online it goes from 0-100 real quick!

I bought a Pro R 4 Sport today, $44k OTD. Going to just add basics to make it NORRA legal. Just race it for fun, I'm too old and fat to run with the kids now.
Front nets & 5-pt harness.

I have a left over Lowrance HDS 8, race radio and intercom, Pumper for front seats, rear amber light and a couple BD light bars from the race cars.
I'll get a flat floor for the rear and leave it empty if I race it, otherwise, dog bed and a cooler, and gear bags. Done.
Well maybe one of those slick rear ends from Morgan Motorsports with the 10 gal extra fuel. OK, then it's really done!
Unless I take it shock therapy. THEN it's done, right? It never ends. Anyway glad I got the Sport model, was hard to find one without dealer options I didn't want.

Can't wait to see the Speed UTV's and hope some show up at NORRA this year. Meanwhile wife and dog will be happy we have a UTV again.

Did you get the live valve deal or the regular one?

Congratulations. That's a bad azz car!

We’ll be racing a Turbo S in the NORRA. The Pro R is a bad ass platform. Hopefully we’ll cross paths down there.

Any news from the Port?
No news from SPEED, but I can almost guarantee the ship is delayed.

I work for an oil company and we are currently experiencing a shortage of Crude Oil delivered by tanker due to recent storms. It's actually hitting us pretty hard.
