Wow. Gear box was supposed to be 6mm and ended up being 1.5 thick. Crazy, but good on them for correcting it now instead of just hoping for the best.

Could you imagine the Cluster F if he didn’t go to KOH and he had a few 100 / 1,000 cars out there that needed new cases!!
They got lucky and caught a potentially HUGE problem way early on in the process!

Look at the ALL crazy talk from what 5 or 10 cars shown to the public - Early production run.

Yup, and the exact reason why I will never buy a first year production vehicle.

LOF would have one hell of a time explaining that away! :)

But it’s highly discounted ;)

Really though, hope RG gets it right once production is actually ramped up.

I meant THIS forum..the naysayers seem to jump on stuff like this...not today.

Hmmmm
It’s a room full of the supposedly already completed cars? Cars that a month ago were said to already be shipped? Not even cars waiting for the new transmission just frames?

There has been a ton of video posted the last couple days, all if super rad. They were just live and showing cars in the 200's on the assembly line

He was a room Friday, full of completed cars minus the new transmission. BTW, when they found the trans issue at KOH, they halted shipping the 2nd batch of cars, and also shut down the assembly line.

More live vids with questions and answers. Lots of test track time and they are going to video when they go to Mongolian sand dunes this week i guess

I thought the cause of the issue was the heat treatment of the gears? In this video Robby makes it seem like its the 1.5mm thin case is the cause of the issue. I am just trying to figure out what the cause of the transmission failure is.
The gears in the transmission have a helical cut, under load the gears try to push the shafts in opposite directions.
If the cases can't contain the load, the shafts will move, the gear contact will shift.
RG showed the gear, it looked like about 2/3rd of a tooth (or two...) was broken off.

I'll say it again, I am not 100% convinced that the failure was due to the thin spot in the original cases.

I am aware of the changes made to the new cases, among other changes, and they will certainly help make these stronger and prevent future gear failures.

Hope you guys get your cars soon. Certainly wish I had the funds to drop a deposit on one.

So much has NOT happened just sitting here waiting for delivery 🚚 and what will really happen “If” customers actually get what they were promised 2-3 years ago! 🍿
2-3 years ago?
That about the time RG or Max broke off your engagement? Left you at the alter? Either that or the alimony stopped when you remarried?:)

Dirt season is about over.
The negativity will start aging come Sept and Speed will be judged on how deliveries have gone throughout the summer and what new issues have popped up that have delayed production again :)

Time to go boating :)

Truth. Another missed season. But you know the faithful, they are forever...

Faithful!

The gamble is real. 👍🏼

Perfect time to deliver. The 6 month warranty will be over right when desert season starts 👍🏻

watched the whole thing, lot of unbiased reviews here.

suspension is about the only good thing this car has out of the box. Everything else is some sort of problem or could be refined a lot better. In some cases, it is an individual preference like seat foam density and support. Other cases shit doesn't work like belt temp gauge. Also Nick blew a belt driving hard for 30-45 sec. (what a mess)

list of pro's

suspension is dialed out of the box "felt like a fully tuned race car" absorbed chatter and g outs without bottoming with ease
top end power is nice
fuel mileage is on par with pro r and turbo cars running 225 tune
tires 35" are bullet proof with great tracking
handling is spot on with sway bars, shocks, and low C of G.

cons:

sightline is like a can am (driver preference)
belt temp didn't work
seats offer no support and are hard (driver preference)
door latches are finicky still
steering feedback in unpredictable at time and sketchy
ALL sticker edges are peeling.
brakes are not adequate for 35" tires
shifting is not smooth 100% of time (driver preference and skill)
4wd shifter hit legs if your tall (driver preference)
regular shifter your hand hits the 4wd shifter busting knuckles (driver preference)
car wouldnt idle with cold ambient temps
car ECU would cut out at random times during 2 days of riding
low end power and grunt isn't there for 35" tires (driver preference)
gas gauge was way way off more than rzr
side mirrors are useless

notables:

car ran 200 in 50-60 ambient temps (this is what i run in glamis with paddles running hard in my turbo s) in dirt i never see above 190

my take from video:

overall the fit and finish is horrible. The suspension is perfect out of box other than potential spring sag (not sure if it was intentional from speed). power seems great and power delivery is awesome. Handling is also awesome on 35" tires. lots of little stuff going wrong and needs major refinement still.

From an unbiased review with a lot of positives and a couple items that need to worked on, which we all knew would happen and a lot that has already been addressed by the speed team if you have been following RG at the factory, to a biased cliff note response lol
I'd watch the video yourself and get your own take on it.
half the video is b-roll so don't get worked up about the 54min length

I restated everything Nick said basically word for word. Nothing biased until “car fit and finish is horrible”

Nick went on and on about how great the suspension is and handling. Best so far and sets the bar. Said power was great up ton and lacked on 35” down low.

I did watch the whole video and provided from nick pov his pros and cons

I also think you let a guy with a huge social media presence take a car that isn’t refined is a huge mistake. What did you think he was gonna say. Working these details out at the factory is great but nick didn’t mention one time of that happening (even tho we know some of it is)

I don’t see anything wrong with it if we’re going to maintain that Robby is being as transparent as many claim he is. Nothing in the video would deter my interest in them. I could have done a similar video on my RZR when I first brought it home.

The guy can’t win either way. Either he doesn’t release it to social media and gets slaughtered for being secretive or does release it and gets slaughtered for it. Can’t have it both ways.

Agreed 100% on what you are saying I was merely giving my take on I wouldn’t have let a huge social media guy take an unrefined car out. But what choice did he have? “Cars are delivered” so it is what it is, hence the honesty in the video

seats offer no support and are hard- He never said that, he said he'd prefer some more support for himself, and that he got the large+wide seat, he was driving the car with the standard seat. (driver preference)

door latches are finicky still- the top of door release worked well, inner door handle seemed to not have enough throw.

steering feedback in unpredictable at time and sketchy- Nick never said any of those words lol he said he had feedback in ruts and g outs that didn't let him drive as fast as he wanted (issue is being worked on with factory and new servos)

ALL sticker edges are peeling.- not all the sticker edges are peeling lol some are and that has been addressed at factory per RG's video.

brakes are not adequate for 35" tires- Nick did say for the 35's he would recommend the upgrade. Fine on 32's

shifting is not smooth 100% of time (driver preference and skill)- its not going to 100% smooth its dogged gears, no one ever said it would be. He also stated how nice it was to click it into 3rd on the highways.

car wouldn't idle with cold ambient temps- he said it took a few starts to get it going when it was below freezing, but once started up it idled at a higher RPM to warm up.

car ECU would cut out at random times during 2 days of riding- Issue that RG told him about, but seems to maybe just be that car? no one else commented on that when they drove the cars back in Feb.

low end power and grunt isn't there for 35" tires (driver preference)- He said he'd like more bite but loves how smooth it is.

gas gauge was way way off more than rzr- he said an issue that the turbo rzrs had as well.

side mirrors are useless- if attached with the window nets. seemed like they work okay with out. This is where Chupacabra comes in with his own product.

Again, a bias cliff note section without telling the whole story.
but you have bagged on this car since day one so it doesn't suprise.
Does the car have some bugs to work out? yes and so do rzrs and canams that have been on the market for a decade plus lol
making it sound like its a full fledged failuer isnt an unbaised cliff notes.

also Nick stated he is not worried with the little stuff, he believes it will get worked out with what he has seen from RG's videos.

Alright im done, gotta get back to work lol

It’s is a failure. Robby said it’s the best ever so yes it doesn’t stack up right now. That is my bias!!!!

Does my Polaris have issues sure it does. No one ever said it doesn’t. But shit not getting a sticker to stick come on how hard is it. Again if Robby would have let people other than him drive it before releasing it these issues could be worked out. My Polaris has never not started? Anyone else? Fuel injection production motor should start and run period. And ecu that cuts out give me a break!!!!! That’s a flash issue!!! So you’re telling me they havnt fixed that with a new tune for a guy with a huge media presence? Again garage shop much. There is my bias review.

Is the car badass yes and no, geometry it sets the bar for handling and suspension in stock form.

Am I buyer sure in 3-5 years when the bugs are worked out
