And fwiw I am guy that puts not hard dirt miles on my car than 99% of people on this forum. A bunch on this forum can vouch for that. So yes I do know what I am talking about. Try doing a 700 mile ride with crappy seats and steering feedback plus and ecu that cuts out at random times.

Id give it a watch, it was very well done video.
Make up your own mind on it.

I don't have an hour waste. And my mind was made up YEARS ago! lol

Never buy the first year of ANYTHING produced. Maybe four years from now, the Speed could possibly be something worth owning? But by that time....

The other SxS manufactures will have passed this car by. The only thing RG has done by being all "transparent" and shit, is raised the bar for everyone else.

Competition in a free market has ALWAYS been a good thing. 👍

This is where I‘m at as well. I like the idea of the speed car, but would not buy a first year car as well. I know it is cheaper, but I believe, a year two or three car will be seriously improved. It cool to see this entire process, and RG will certainly have one bad ass machine when it’s matured. Can’t wait.

It’s is a failure. Robby said it’s the best ever so yes it doesn’t stack up right now. That is my bias!!!!

Does my Polaris have issues sure it does. No one ever said it doesn’t. But shit not getting a sticker to stick come on how hard is it. Again if Robby would have let people other than him drive it before releasing it these issues could be worked out. My Polaris has never not started? Anyone else? Fuel injection production motor should start and run period. And ecu that cuts out give me a break!!!!! That’s a flash issue!!! So you’re telling me they havnt fixed that with a new tune for a guy with a huge media presence? Again garage shop much. There is my bias review.

Is the car badass yes and no, geometry it sets the bar for handling and suspension in stock form.

Am I buyer sure in 3-5 years when the bugs are worked out
Okay champ! lol

you literally posted things that weren't true and miss stated what Nick said. That is what I was pointing out.
but again, you have had your mind made up.

Rzr's have their problems as you know, like catching on fire or ball bearings breaking while not running hard. the worst of all is spending another 25-30K + to make them safe/have proper suspension components and you're worried about stickers lol SO what you're saying the speed actually got the main core of the car right and they just need to work out some bugs? Awesome! ill take it!

What seats are in them. Are they more of a race seat?

Everyone likes running a suspension seat like PRP’s and compares comfy to that style but there’s a reason you don’t run a suspension style seat in off road race cars.

Just trying to understand what’s not to like about the current seat offering in the Speed car.

I believe it’s a Sparco carbon fiber seat. More of a race style seat. And yes to racing without suspension seats

That’s what we have in the race car. I can understand how the average person wouldn’t appreciate those but I would.

Many years ago I saw a brokeback mnt/rzr meme, and it referred to it as a "gayzer" and it stuck! lol

He said “it’s going to be the best ever”. He’s still working it out. You are seriously painting this in the most negative light ever

I wasn't aware this had to be an optimistic review thread. My review brings negativity due to the lack of focus on the small issues. Spending 35k (early people) upwards of 100K for this car is absurd if this is what you are going to get for a whole package. As others and I have said this car needs a ton of refinement to even be considered buyable. Right now, this car can't even compete with what's out there both in racing, play form and quality. The outdated X3 and new Pro R are substantially a better-quality car. Can this change? It better or Robby won't be in business very long. The aftermarket can't fix quality issues. They only fix design issues. I believe Robby is trying to fix most if not all of these issues. With the issues like stickers that are very small to say a transmission failure; nonetheless, these are all issues that need to be addressed. For some in here I cannot believe the satisfactory/high approval grade these "delivered" cars have received. IMO these are a complete failure. Nice part with a complete failure, is there is only one way to go. UP!!!!!

to go into detail on some issues:

Car 18 belongs to speed (full disclosure I am speculating here). This car made its debut in Mid-February and if you notice in the video the car had just under 800 miles on it during Nick's ride. Nick mentioned the car doesn't idle at cold temperatures and cuts out randomly at times while driving (not enough to stall it.) This seems to be a tuning issue. Why wait to get this taken care of before Nick took this car out? They had at least 4 weeks to fix it. Some might say because Robby is working on bigger things like the transmission and getting production going. I don't believe Robby has any skill to finely tune an engine (I could be wrong) and even if does why is the CEO the engine tuner? If he isn't why has this been retuned? You don't need parts; all you need is time. Is 4-5 weeks not enough time? You have the perfect playground where this is stored/kept. Perhaps the tuner is off doing other things? So, you are telling me as big as debut of speed it and with a huge media presence that Nick has with a detailed review that you couldn't get him on board? that screams garage shop and nowhere near enough pull to make that happen. Perhaps it's an in-house tuner? Where the hell has, he/she been?

stickers: again car is there 4-5 weeks you could get new sticker kit with different adhesive and or redesign for an inhouse only car? That should have been easy!!!! Bigger issues like transmission? Why is it Robby's job to deal with stickers? Do they not have a graphics guy? how about a tech do to the job? Its not like they have a ton of cars they are working on at the moment in Havasu.

you start reading into the small issues and this quickly becomes a sub-par car/company. There is a ton of room for improvement and or as I like to call opportunities for improvement, but they are not being capitalized on why?

The stickers have been addressed according to speed. I honestly believe he's working on fixing the issues on the production cars, not #18..

Why would he spend time (which is very limited) to replace the stickers on a car he owns?

The tuning deal I believe has been addressed in production as well. To my knowledge the main thing they haven't addressed is the steering feedback. What is happening there is the case is flexing slightly and tripping the sensors up so it gives some feedback.. I'm not sure how you fix it because it's in a tight area that doesn't allow much more than what he's got in there already.

When I went to the shop he was quick to show me what's causing it, I asked him what the fix was and he said he didn't have one at the time but they'll come up with something. Also said the feedback was pretty minimal.

Making every effort to not come off as negative here, BUT..Why in the world would he give a car that hasn't had the issues addressed, to a guy, who is a noted Youtube critic of UTV's? That make zero sense.

I'd only had given him one that is as current as I could make it.

He finds similar issues with all the brands if you follow his channel. I stopped following him because he goes on and on about some stuff I don’t care about and his videos are often longer than they need to be.

I didn’t think the video was all that bad. Stickers? Really? Paint stays but If it has stickers they’re coming off within minutes of it coming home. They’ll look like shit in a couple rides anyways.

I think because the guy asked to borrow it? I agree 100% I'd give him the latest and greatest.. but maybe for some reason he couldn't? New transmissions aren't in? I dunno..

Honestly I'm not sure why the guy couldn't just take his own car on that run and return it to the dealership afterwards?

I don't have the answers, but I'd have to assume there was a reason.

I don't follow him. Heck, the only Youtubers I follow are Kayak Catfish, Norcal Cycling and Vegan Cyclist.:cool:

Like that surprises you? :p

He seemed to really like the suspension. The only thing that would worry me on a long trip based on his assessment was the ECM cutting out. The belt, so what. Stickers, yeah no big but my 2014 Razor the stickers are still intact.

I feel the car will be very good (very).

The only one I wouldn’t have guessed was “Vegan Cyclist.” 😂

Ya I agree. I think the car will be good and to go from basically a CAD drawing to what it is in three years impresses the business side of my mind. Nothing in that video concerned me.

The way RG delivers his message has some sharp edges to it but successful racers have insane ego’s and confidence. What makes a racer successful on the track is typically a perceived negative when they’re speaking to the camera.

I’m going to wait a couple years and if I’m still interested I’ll pay the premium for the improved model. Still has some refining to do but it’s not dogshit in its debut.

Agree. We are on the same page as to waiting and watching.

I get the "edgy delivery of message" from a racer, but its off-putting to an entire potential customer segment.

because Nick Olsens car doesn't work too. His car has worse computer issues than car #18. That was from his first review. He had to take Todd's car the rest of the time

Nick said he called up to try to get his car if it had been fixed Robbie said just take the other car no questions asked at least that’s the way Nick said it. Nick also mentioned something about a $500 credit for not being able to use his car I’m not sure if that’s per month or one time. Said he was going to use the money to go towards a full skid plate and some other stuff.

Why would he spend the time to switch stickers when he has a team for that?
I think putting the stickers on the CEO’s cars would make the most sense if it’s the only one being driven. Maybe to make sure the issue has really been addressed on a car that actually gets driven. And not 500 cars sitting in a warehouse about to be delivered to owners.
Why would he spend time (which is very limited) to replace the stickers on a car he owns?

This thread is still entertaining. Now people are complaining about decal quality, and trashing a new manufacturer over it…..on a vehicle they haven’t purchased….and, as if they won’t fix it.

What is the old saying? Oh, yeah….”Say anything you want about me. Just spell my name right.”

If we've learned anything in the last few years about Robby, it is that doesn't give a shit about anyone's opinion.
And any press is good press, he loves haters and non-haters. If they are talking about HIM (Speed) he loves it.

When I read this thread I think of James Kindelberger. Kindelberger was an extroverted character who was famed for his emphasis on hard work, orderliness and punctuality.

Face it, RWG could shit in a bag and some of the fanboys would be screaming "how much, how much???" ...open their wallet and pay top dollar!

But he is the master of branding, to bad it turns off lots of folks.

If and when a true production car ever gets into a customers garage, and it can be driven without a "hotel/hotdog nanny" over their shoulder, then we all can witness if it is the game changer all the cheerleaders have been screaming for 3 plus years.

Side bar: hotel/hotdog nanny is in reference to the chosen nine, being wined & dined for the delivery of their cars, delivery is a relative term in this case.
