I agree...I was just telling my buddy this weekend the same thing...although the ProR is a badass machine, I just don't like the way it looks for some reason, just looks weird IMO....

You don’t like the way it looks because it’s out of proportion, particularly the 4 seater. It’s just not pleasing to look at. Add to that the stock cages are not particularly attractive.

They took the standard body of the RZR they use on every other 2 cylinder Pro XP and pulled the suspension and rear wheels back another 14 inches or something to fit the 4 cylinder in the Pro R.

If you look at a 4 seat Turbo R or Pro S it has a shorter wheelbase and looks better because the wheelbase fits the body.

The best looking Pro R out there is this one that has been body widened 13 inches. If they came with a body like that and a flat truck style bed area like this one has… wow.

So you can't drive one for more than twenty minutes, without having to take a break???

No wonder there were no where to be seen at the 1000!!!

😱🤣
The oil can run up well above what he posted "with the windshield", he didn't need to pull it because it was at 218. Also, I'll be captain obvious here, nobody is running the windshield in the Baja 1000, or any other race.

I ran a 100 mile loop last weekend, with my windshield, I saw oil temps at 222, and water at 200. I didn't stop driving.

Polaris could duplicate that look and proportion on a redesign for almost nothing. It would be a grand slam, and perfect for an enclosed cab version.

Until then we will spend $90k and claim to be the “best out of the box” I guess.

Good to know you're enjoying yours.

To me, no SxS belongs in the dunes. But clearly LOTS of people disagree!

People also freak about oil temps, that they could run a little hotter, and probably aren't used to even seeing in their other SXS.

Hell the Class 11, I prefer absolutely ZERO gauges. I only want to see an Oil pressure light, and an Alternator light.

Yep and lots of racers are moving away from belt temp gauges too. Drive by feel not by numbers

You can feel when a belt gets hot? That is a new one on me..

It's Hard rubber. There would Have to be a difference as the temp warms up.

Now can mere mortals like us detect those differences? Probably not. But yeah, I'd bet that top notch drivers would absolutely be able to. 👍🏼

I think you can feel the car !

There is a sweet spot where everything just flows nicely !

Now if your in a deep sandy wash all whopped out and going up hill the temps can climb up

You should know / feel thats also

Person with both cars and his opinion. May hurt fishes feelings 🤣 ItS tHe BeSt OuT oF tHe BoX
If he is feeling the chatter bumps and his Pro R is all over the place then the MTS shock set up must be the worst set up every or those Walker Evans shocks are not tunable.

Having driven a 4 seat Pro R with the live valve in the dunes and it is not all over the place in the chatter bumps or in the dunes.

I saw several Speed cars in the dunes and talked to a few of the owners.

You can feel when the belt is slipping due to being overheated.

Unless you want to actually go dunning. Watched him launch some nice jumps at the Swing Set in Glamis during Camp RZR.

A-fuckin-men. It's like they try to make these things look like shit from the get-go. Maybe they want to create an aftermarket? The Mittag chassis are the best looking offroad toy around. If I could afford one like he built for Anderson, i'd get rid of the sand car.

I would say it held up as well as any other sxs on the market hitting something like that at probably a higher speed

This is 2 different incidents, combined into one montage. Typical Chuck BS, the car with the bent up suspension parts, did not roll his car, but he hit that wash out at about 50mph, he also stated that the washout was about 3ft tall and verticle. The blue car with the bent up roof, is a different car. Honestly hard to tell, it looks like it's only the plastic roof, but I couldn't zoom in enough to see more.

I didn’t have the heart to say it. I was waiting for the thread to go buckwild before I shared the story behind the Insta post lol.

Usually I agree with you Joe but,…

The dunes would’ve been sold to the environmentalists had the SxS scene not intervened. Glamis was going to get smaller and smaller had the influx of cash from Polaris and CanAm and others hadn’t stepped in.

Not at all. The reopening of the "temporary" closures happened sometime around 2012, well before side by sides were really a thing out there.

Glamis has remained open primarily due to the efforts of the ASA and funding from its members. Can Am and Polaris are contributors now, but not so much back then.

The SxS scene has certainly not kept Glamis open.

I’m as big as an advocate as the best when it comes to the big cars but do you really think they have the revenue that Polaris has?

Best thing that has happened to keep Glamis open is Polaris buying a shit ton of land.

Remove all UTV’s and that place doesn’t exist. We can agree to disagree.

Yeah, I guess all that SxS influence and money got the temporary closures reversed 13 years ago. I won't agree to disagree because attributing SxS to Glamis to still being open is incorrect. The timeframe doesn't add up.

I have some very close ties to the ASA and have been around it from day one, but I guess you can tell me all about it.

If anything, the SxS scene has made Glamis more accessible, increased visitation, and is giving the enviros more ammunition to close the place. I hope Polaris plans to buy more land if that's the real reason Glamis is still open...

I’ve got no dog in this fight. Glamis, to me, is boring unless you’re on a dirt bike.

I’m just thinking that you all need all the money you can get to fight the environmentalists.

Good luck if Polaris and CanAm pull the plug. Your big name large cars don’t appear to be paying the bills.

Sadly, you're correct. Which seems rather odd to me?

The good news is, lots of other people are. 👍🏼

Over a million duners go the the Imperial Dunes. If each one donated just $10 a year, the ASA could easily out spend the anti-access groups.

Yes you can,

that feeling you get when you pound a beer mid-dune while your buddy is changing his belt because he is to lazy or stupid or cheap to have changed his belt over the summer so he had a fresh one for glamis.

now he gets a fresh belt and you get a fresh adult beverage, thats the feeling!
