anyone know of or heard thru the internet about ordering / buying the 100K race car?

you would think they would have a few of these ” hand built race cars “ out in the public by now!

it would be worth the 100k to get it 1st months before anyone and then avoid the production line process

I want to see them out and running before / if we buy one
They said they were putting the racing program on hold until the production cars are delivered. Also the race cars are not legal to race until 500 production cars have been built.

I took my 11yo's phone away from him yesterday for something he did...this morning I woke up to about 325 messages on his phone in group chat of 11 and 12 year olds...all talking nonsense and arguing over nonsense....reminded me alot of this thread....lol..

The latest video of Robby in the factory was pretty cool. Not sure how they will get all those parts and sub-assemblies to Texas for assembly for deliveries starting in September though. Looking forward to getting ours and I now think we will get our Speed car before my wife's Bronco.

Robby did a pretty cool live broadcast last night from the factory machining the engines and cast parts.

All I seen for the most part was a bunch of partial engine cases , valve covers That is RG own words weren't ready to assemble yet !! Doesn't look like they are any way they are going to be shipping out cars to the public anytime soon !

You must have missed the updates from over a month ago where they were showing complete drivetrain assemblies, being assembled on the line.

I watched where they showed some other parts and what was suppose to be the production line with A finished motor sitting there ! I don't take that as a bunch of finished drivelines ready to go ! Don't get me wrong I hope RG gets the Speed UTV to the public but don't think its happening this year !

Those images above that are the cars coming off of the assembly line, have those been out test driven like the custom one off's they were testing in Havasu? I believe I read the first 20 or so off of the assembly line were supposed to be Speed cars to test? Wondering if that process has been fully tested yet. Or are they waiting for production assembly line parts to be finished first before taking them back out to Havasu.

There are videos of them driving them around in China.... with Chinamen in the back seats :)

That is how it’s gonna work. All subassemblies go to Texas for assembly. They claim that after launch they will be looking at a new factory, likely in the Phoenix area, but definitely somewhere in the Southwest.
So your post #464 only reflects assembled cars, not engines assemblies. Noted.

I wonder if the boat they get shipped over here on magically sinks?
Robby uses that as an out and closes his doors.

It takes on average 14-21 days by ship to move cargo from China to the west coast. Then 10-24 days to offload that ship in LA/Long Beach. If shipped today, the parts will be lucky to see Texas by Sept. So early October deliveries are already at risk. I see the pressure raising if cars are not delivered this dirt season.

To be honest, I think RG was hoping a bigger known SXS player would of knocked on his door and purchased Speed already. While his concept and design were pushing new limits, I bet he is worn out trying to get a MFG line up and running.

There is a possibility they have a lot of parts already too in Texas

RG already did all that with the big players, and that is the singular reason they even started this venture in the first place.

The heavy lift is about done on this deal.

Don’t bring logic into this. Remember these are the same people that said cars would not be ready for SSSS this time last year for the exact same reasons.

There were many drivetrain assemblies sitting around a month ago in the pics. I bet those are not in China anymore.

Do they have financing set up already? Or will they piggy back off of banks that already lend on motorcycles, SXS etc?

If their most recent video (#104) is showing "production" or even "pre-production" cars, they've got a long ways to go on fit and finish... Body work looks almost as bad as it did at the 2019 Sand Show.

I also have to laugh at Todd explaining that the "S" logo has always been in front of "Speed" and that's how their logo will always be, while he's wearing a shirt with alogo and the "S" is after the speed... (you have to watch the video for that to make sense probably)

And not to be negative but as long as Speed produces a vehicle to a dealer there’s no hurdles with the finance company?
I don’t know the ins and outs of financing one of these, but I’d have to assume no?

Apparently Freedom Road is one of the bigger players in financing this stuff? That is just from what read.

Yea I agree, they should have kept the S to the front of the car on both sides.

When you have pissed off ever major SXS player already, that is your only option :)

End of day; he has over promised and under delivered on getting his product to market multiple times. Plus the only reason I keep posting in this thread is I find it 100% comic relief how you can’t let any post go without a response.

Wouldn't it be more affective to ship directly to Texas? Online shows China to Texas is a 35-45 day time but without having to deal with the LA/Long Beach unload times and quicker delivery to the Hisun building. Texas is basically begging for more ships to unload: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...ley-texas-tells-carriers-to-escape-california

And the converse is true.. everyone must quote me and respond, at all costs, and I get a kick out of it.

I don’t think he did anything to piss off the Canadians?

None of these other MFGs have any reason to buy him out anyway.. maybe Hisun, but they’d have to keep the Speed brand name most likely, just like Textron did with the Wildcat XX.

Again, I can’t find any actual customers that think this will be an under deliver with respect to features, and we’ve been in a global supply chain crisis for 18 months. Everything has been late.

You would hope that is what they are doing. When you start reviewing the data, makes you question WTF is going on and why more shipping companies have not moved away from the LA/LB ports.

Robby and Todd said they are delivering cars September 16th at the Sandsports show. We shall see!
40 working days. There must be some hand built cars ready for motors
Minus 5 days of shipping to oc.

Im sure i will be corrected within 3 minutes.....

$30-50k production model, or $100k hand-built model?

Prod 4 seat model. Remember yesterday when people said there was no way they could get parts to build and deliver these.

In fairness I’m pretty sure this is one of the first batch assembled in China, and part of the reason why they were assembled there.

The car already has much more than what was originally promised in 2019 that is why.

As of now the only thing that has been taken out of what was originally promised is the belt temp sensor. If anyone else can think of anything else, correct me here.

There was not even a base model car until mid 2020. You are a Polaris guy, they don’t put the Live Valve shocks on the base model. It sounds like they are giving all the preorders what they agreed to for the agreed price. And going forward the base cars will have different shocks to meet the price point.

You want to put up some money that we won’t get the features currently outlined? What do you have in mind? :)

We’re the original base cars plastic seats I don’t remember that?
