Those folks that financed are not going to be happy. Outside 30 days, banks will have to re-qualify the loans and rates will be different (higher). Or folks are going to state they took delivery and be committing bank fraud (if caught).
my guess is the people who paid in full did so on their own and not at the request of speed.

So people paying is the only difference from the previously stated delivery date of 9/19 from Speed.
So now, potentially 12 weeks later, they are stating deliveries will happen, but still no carb or a finalized product.
Noted.

I could care less about CARB. Im not registering it in CA.

They had no EPA cert. This week they are legally allowed to deliver cars. Any USA deliveries before this could not happen.

That is none of our business or any of our problem frankly. That is between them, the finance company and Speed. Im sure they will collectively figure it out.

Who’s paid in full? What car number?
Or are they just rumors or people saying they paid in full?

Now we are demanding to know who paid and who hasn’t? 😂 Do you want their SSN and address too?

I didn’t ask if you cared about Carb.
I’d imagine speed cares about the cert, which will probably be the next excuse they make on why they can not fulfill there stated delivery date.

Let’s be glad they raced or else there’d be deliveries this week and a car that with problems still.

There were never going to be deliveries this week.

This is why I keep saying I don’t really care how long it takes as long as they are making the car better down to the wire. They found a potential problem and are going to resolve it.

Soooooo, I'm at my river house, not in Havasu tonight. But I wish I was in Havasu.

Robby said " Tons of cars in Havasu ."

Come on, we all know there are NO cars in Havasu, let alone "tons of cars."

Why lie? That's weird.

That is why all these MFGs race. Things happen in race conditions that you are not going to simulate otherwise.

You can choose to believe them or not.

This happened after the mating surface of the barb was contaminated with oil. Without a barb no matter how much you tighten a clamp, the hose can pull off.
Seems like hose 101….
Why does it take race testing to figure out what everyone knows about rubber hoses ?

That sucks. Surprised the oil issue was not caught in testing sooner. Or did the manufacture modify a design and now issues are popping up with these ‘pre-production’ cars.
The cartel was testing them out and had issues trying to out run the federalies !

Me neither so don’t know why you would say that.
Just curious on what car number(s) have paid. 1-200 or outside of that.
Didn’t know a simple question would make you so defensive.

Why would I or anyone here know who has paid and who hasn’t, and what their car is? It is literally none of our business.

People have said that were called to pay and have paid both cash and finance. It is in this thread.

Because yore the Speed Know All and have claimed numerous times that people have paid.
Curious on where yore information came from.
For all we know nobody’s actually paid and they don’t have to make deliveries within that time frame.

I will raise my hand and say I have much respect for RG. What started out in the race barn as a dream to build a better UTV ended up being a 3 year hell ride. I knew him and his Dad many moons ago when we raced the Mickey Thompson stadium series and they were always focused and determined. That race blood got him through these past three years and in my eyes he is close to winning that race with all the haters in tow. It is so refreshing to see a CEO opening his Komodo for all to see and not some douche bag just saying what you want to hear and hide the sins of the company. Good on ya Robby keep it up!

Well I already told you it is in this thread. I didn’t post it, someone else with a car did.

You can believe the information or not.

So what was the big deal news on the feed? 5 to 8 weeks? Lol. Nobody on this thread will have a car this desert season. The math doesn't add up. Deliver HOW Many in 8 weeks? 50? 10? 100?

Was that said?
Did they discuss where these are being built? Texas, mex, China? Are there 200 ready to ship after the oil fix?
Is the assembly line on? Off?

We're any consumer questions answered?

I know I know. 'It takes what it takes'
You guys gotta be pissed. You can't deny this.

Someone is going to lawyer up to the deposit back, not a sell it bs.

In the early days...late 90's...I was messing around with Paxtons and Vortechs on stuff they didn't have kits for. Seemed like at 12-15psi, those neat blue hoses would pop off the discharge pipes. Clamps so tight you'd near cut the hose. All my piping was stainless, stuff from the scrap bin at my friend's shop. I couldn't figure out how to roll a bead in the stuff. I drilled 4 small holes, and put in pop rivets to act as a lip. Never had a problem after that...well, not with the hose blowing off at least:oops:

They have started taking payments.
Trying to think of the last time I paid for anything that I didn’t receive delivery of same day. Coming up with nothing.

To keep this boating related. I do remember a buddy paying Carter for a Canyon Boat build months before finally taking delivery back in early 90’s. It was financed and he was a few payments in before he finally received it. But he got a great deal! That was right before company went belly up.

Cliff notes:
  • Here are my cool trophies
  • Here is my collection of shock bodies
  • Here is a screenshot of an EPA document.
  • Hey, turn on the truck headlights so you can see me standing outside doing a presentation in front of a monitor
  • Here is my cool barn, Throw in a couple of low flying aircraft for good measure.
  • Delivery of cars starts in 5-8 weeks
  • ADHD kicked in, and I lost interest when he went back to talking about racing.

Post ADHD is when they talked about the hose barb fix for the existing 200 some odd cars.

You sure he didn't say 200 air/oil separators are in inventory? I don't recall him saying 200 cars are in inventory.

They have said they have around 100 cars built, as of a few weeks ago, at SSSS they said they are continuing to build cars, and RG shared pics of cars on the line being built.

It stands to reason if delivery is in 5-8 weeks and if these initial cars are built in China, if they aren’t built now, or even on the boat now, they are not going to get here in that timeframe for delivery.

How or where they are fixing already built cars they did not indicate.

They said worst case they are re-molding an new part to fix it if they can’t fix the existing parts.

It's kind of hard to believe they would have even made a fitting like that for the oil without a barb . He also kind of slid in a comment about that if they need to make a new part that they were made in Asia and kind of made it sound like that could take time !

Why is it hard to believe? It was right there in the video. They found a problem in final testing and are addressing it. I’d rather wait another few weeks than blow up an engine out of warranty because a hose came off. That wouldn’t be a problem now, it would be a problem later down the road.

He said that comment because they are on holiday for a week in Asia. It was the next sentence he said. Meaning if they have to make a new part right now, there will be at least that week delay.

It sounded like the new part is forthcoming either way, and current parts/cars will be modified to fix this potential issue.

So is this a different part then the one they have testing in the Pre production cars ? You think if he had beat the Pre production cars as hard they say have it would have showed up sooner ! I heard about the week vacation but don't remember hearing anything about it would only be a week delay if they needed to make a new one !

China is on holiday until 10/10, so that holiday week is almost over.
That said, the issue was identified last week and nothing will be done in China about the fix until 10/10.

I agree 100% with you. The way they said this car has been tested, why was this design issue not caught until the race last week! Plus, any fluid fitting should be a barb from the start for anything off-road.

It was a week before they could address the problem in China. Then retool time and remake parts has to occur. Prolly a 4 week process
